This is a great multi-purpose tool for anyone's vehicle! I've wanted one of these for a long time and decided to give this a try because it has so many features I'm looking for. My main reason for ordering this was the tool to break glass, so that if I'm ever stuck in that sort of situation (i.e. a sinking car), then at least I have a good chance of escaping. I also like the digital pressure gauge, which is useful to keep an eye on my tire pressure long before the pressure lights come on. The other multi-tools are also great to have on the road in a pinch and the flashlight feature is very bright. My one con of this product is that it's tricky to get some of the tools pulled out of the device - I try to be very careful because they are tools you can easily injure yourself with if you're too careless or forceful in pulling them out. Overall, this is a handy device and when I was showing other members of my family, they all agreed they needed one for their cars. In the end, I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to plan ahead and not get caught unaware. I actually feel everyone should have some sort of tool like this in their car just in case it's needed - it's better to have one and not need it than need one and not have it!

This tool could have been really cool, but falls a little short in execution. The tire pressure gauge seems to work okay and its accuracy compared well to one of my tire gauges that I use all the time. The gauge readout switches between psi, bar, kpa, and kg/cm2. The measurement unit switches each time the power button is pressed, so it’s important to double check to make sure you are using the correct unit of measurement. The display is backlit so it is easy to see in the dark. Note that the power button Is very sensitive so it will probably turn on every time you handle the tool. The actual tools included have varying degrees of utility. The Seat Belt Cutter seems pretty sharp, has sawtooth type blades, and will probably get the job done. The Scissors are, of course, fairly small but they will cut paper. The Pliers are also small, so they are not going to do any heavy-duty kind of work. The “screwdrivers” are where things really go off the rails. One clearly has a Phillips tip, but is very small, size P0 as best I could tell. I posted a picture of this tip along with Craftsman P2, P1, and P0 from my collection. Not too many screws with a P0 head in cars, but you might be able to fix your watch. Finally, the other blade described as a screwdriver by Ascent in the instructions does not actually have a tip that could truly be described as a screwdriver. It has a small, somewhat blunt tip that might be used for prying but not much else. The flashlight is fairly bright and would probably be good enough for searching for things in a car interior. There is also a red light that may have some use for signaling. Note that the Car Safety Tool requires a single AAA battery, which is not included. Finally, the tool has a glass hammer tip which is retractable which allows it to pop out when needed. This tip has a pretty sharp point and is pretty heavy. Plus, the tip is located at the same end of the device as all of the folding tools, which gives this end of it enough heft to help break a glass window. I did not try this feature in my car, but I believe it will work. I am going to put this Car Safety Tool in my glove box where, hopefully, I will never need to use it.

This seemed like a good idea when I saw it in the Sharper Image catalog (Ye, they are still n business and they still send out a catalog). As you can see, the metal piece at the base fell off on both sides (one was off when I opened it and the other came off on day-one). No big deal but it may indicate a quality issue. To be fair, the quality of the tools seems to be fine and hopefully the only flaws are cosmetic. The bigger complaint I have is the tools are difficult to “pry” out. The two outside tools are easy to open, but for the inner tools, I have to open all of the inside tools and then close all but the one I need. . I decided to keep it because it actually does function and I like having the tire gauge and the little hammer (obviously I keep it in the glove box). P.S. I keep a Leatherman in my scooter and it is much easier to use.

Great tool to have ----- it does need a AAA battery that does not come with it. Tire gauge is easy to use and accurate. Comes with 5 tools like a Swiss army knife ---- saw, scissors, etc...... has a good bright white light and a red light, I am not sure what the separate red light is for? One poor design is the power switch for the tire gauge is a push button on / off. It also switches pressure fro PSI to BAR to KPA ----- the button sticks out a little and when I tossed in my glove box the panel lights up wasting the battery. It does have a battery saver and turns itself off after about 30 seconds. But any little touch to the side turns it on wasting battery life. Although you hope to never need it --- it has a pop out Glass Hammer ----- to break your windshield or side window to escape in an emergency -- good tool to have at ready.

We bought six of these for presents and only one came in tact. The metal handle trim was off on the other five.

I mainly got this item because I lost my tire pressure gauge, but it has turned out to be much more useful than I anticipated. I love the digital pressure read out, no more squinting when I'm checking my tire pressure, but be sure to check what reading type you have selected. The flash light and tools have already been useful while I was installing new plates on my car. All of this and I have a safety resource that makes me feel more secure when I'm driving. This is not a tool you want to do extensive vehicle work with, but in a pinch this device is perfect. A nice gift for others and a must to buy for each of your cars as well.

This digital tire pressure gauge fits perfectly in a glove box or any storage area in your car that you keep for emergencies. The quality is good and it works well enough! It’s not the best one I’ve used but for the price I think it works perfectly fine. It’s easy to use and I love the additional tools it comes with (like the Swiss Army knife & flashlight)! It’s super handy to have in your car if you’re ever in need of additional tools. I think these tools are one of the better features of this device & definitely make it worth it! It’s a bit overpriced for what it is, but it’s definitely an essential thing to keep in your car just to be safe.

This is a handy tool to have in your glove box. I put it in my daughter's car and had the following observations about the product. - The pressure gauge is pretty accurate. That is, it shows the same pressure as my other guage. Both could be wrong but at least they are consistent. - It requires a AAA battery which is not included in the package. - I wish the flat screwdriver was a bit thinner and a bit wider I think it would have been a bit more useful if the shape was a bit better designed. - I do like the other tools. These are types of things you never really need until you need them. - The red LED is quite bright! About as bright as the white light and it's really cool that you have both options. - The pressure guage readout lights up for use in the dark. You can easily switch it between PSI/BAR/KPa etc. - The switch to turn it on is too sensitive. I try and keep it right side up in the glove box because I've turned it on by just placing it on a table. There's an auto off but I can see it turning itself on during a drive and killing the battery if facing down. - I've never had to use a glass breaker and have nothing to test it with. I'm sure it works fine but I wouldn't know. However I do like the design of where it's place. You just flip the entire unit around and now have a bit of leverage to strike glass if required. Overall a nice tool. We'd use the tire pressure gauge most frequently, and the other features are really just in case we're in a situation that warrants their use.

The pressure gauge is really easy to use. The display is easy to read. The built in flashlight is very helpful. This is a great multitool to keep in your glove compartment. full disclosure: I have not tested the window breaker - but it seems like it would do the job!
