Easy clean up, a lot of doughs can be awfully messy. Take off, clean excess and toss in top shelf of dishwasher.

This seemed to fit the bread hook on my Kitchenaid Artisan, but popped off after a few minutes of kneading. I carefully put in back on, and after a few minutes, it popped off again. Then I noticed the damage to the shield. Apparently the fit was a bit loose, which allowed it to rub during kneading and peeled off plastic shards into my bread dough. Not good!

I usually lock the motor head on my mixer to avoid bread dough working its way out of the mixing bowl while kneading. But despite that, some of the dough still works its way around the dough hook separating from the rest. I got this dough hook shield to eliminate that problem. While Iโd like to say the shield completely solved the problem, I canโt. The dough hook shield minimizes the issue, but heavy bread dough pushes past it. The dough hook shield fits both of the dough hooks I have, the original one that came with my mixer, and a replacement I got after the original dough hook chipped from being dropped on our tile floor. Trying the shield with each of the two dough hooks, it fits the original dough hook best, sitting right up against the dough hookโs surface, while the shield was loose against its replacement. Iโm glad I didnโt throw the original dough hook away. I will be putting it back in service with the new shield. Overall, Iโm happy with this KitchenAid add-on. While itโs not perfect, the shield does its job well enough to make a welcomed difference.
