I bought this product to plug in a set of PC speakers to the USB port on a KVM. It worked perfectly. The speakers were recognized as USB speakers on both computers connected to the KVM and sound just as good on both. I'll be looking for this brand when I have cable requirements in the future.

Here are the "good" and "bad" on this product. . . ADVANTAGES . 1. The product works very well. It replaces the audio output in my laptop and desktop computer, that went bad. There is no static or any audio distortion. . 2. It is "plug and play." Just insert the device into a USB 2.0 port, wait for a few minutes for the computer to recognize and connect. Everything is done without a driver installation. . 3. For $10, the adapter is a steal. . 4. It is the highest rated USB audio adapter among Amazon users. On September 24, 2020, 77% are 5-stars. . . DISADVANTAGES . 1. There is a significant loss in loudness, a 5 dpi loss. However, this can be compensated by installing two freeware: FX SOUND and VIPER FOR WINDOWS. In the settings, just adjust audio output to the max. . 2. It took 20 days for the product to arrive. . . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . . UPDATE 1: The product died in two days. Luckily, I purchased two. So, the defective was replaced; and the music continued. Let us see how long the second will last. . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ . . UPDATE 2: The manufacturer replaced the defective purchase. So far, the device worked without any problems. In fact, it operated better than the motherboard audio module that went bad. There was no static, hum, or another objectionable background noise, that are common.

I often don't expect these Amazon knock offs to work consistently, but this one has lasted about a month so far and hasn't demonstrated any problems. It is cheap, and it feels cheap. There's nothing stellar about it, so I'm not giving it 5 stars, but it does the job fine by allowing me to use my headphones even though the primary headphone jack is broken, as well as the bluetooth, on my computer. I wouldn't buy these for any other reason, though, as they are not going to perform as well as a purpose built gaming card or something. It isn't customizable at all, so what you get is what you get.

Assembly works great! I use it with a KVM switch to allow the audio to switch between PCs using the USB connection.

UPDATED REVIEW: Dukabel contacted me and they were very gracious about the whole thing. While I ultimately figured out the problem on my own, they were very proactive about trying to help solve my problem. I've updated my review from 2 stars to 5. The answer: The mic input on this unit is MONO BALANCED TRS (tip ring sleeve). The tip carries the mono signal, the ring carries the ground and the sleeve carries the bias power. Classic headphones/earbuds and devices like mp3 players are STEREO UNBALANCED TRS where the tip is left, the ring is right, and the sleeve is ground. My police scanner is the same. Trying to run a basic TRS cable from the scanner to this mic input doesn't work. Long story short, I need to buy a couple adapters to split my left and right into two unbalanced mono signals, then convert one of them into a balanced mono signal and send that to this device's input. So - I learned something today, and also this unit isn't defective - you just have to be careful what you plug into the mic input. END UPDATED REVIEW ORIGINAL REVIEW: The unit is plug and play, just like others have said. The problem I'm having is the microphone (pink) input does not work when using a 3-pole plug like Dukabel claims. I've tried multiple microphones that all use the 3-pole plug exactly like their picture and it doesn't work when the plug is all the way in. If I jimmy the input plug sort of half way it works, but it won't stay there so I've resorted to tape to hold the plug and the Dukabel input together just right. Even then any vibration around will cause it to cut in and out. I've written to Dukabel support and they haven't written back. I'll give them another day or two but if they don't have a solution I'll send it back and try another brand. I'm being generous by giving them two stars - if all you need is an output and don't care about a faulty input then for eight bucks i guess it's fine. END ORIGINAL REVIEW

Click to play video Works right away after you plug it in, no need for drivers to be installed. The downside is it's design, which isn't very safe for laptop users, as it has a long USB body and it wiggles around in the socket, as shown on the video. Shouldn't be a big problem if you use it for a stationary PC, as it is not moving anywhere.
