Installed this in an older Jeep Cherokee Sport for an upcoming college student. She will not be driving the car much so a high end stereo would just go to waste. For $30, how cool is this radio! Works as advertised. She can play Pandora while driving and use GPS if needed. Charges the phone too. This unit also comes with an external female stereo plug for use with the AUX input. It can be mounted anywhere and has about 6ft of cable. That was a very nice included surprise I was not expecting. This external AUX mounted input is great if a passenger has an android of other device with stereo output. If you would like to use an AMP it has all the basic inputs/output you would expect for easy installation. I am not using one in this setup, as that would be overkill for this car, but it's all there if needed. The sound is nice, crisp and clean on old original factory speakers. If I where to upgrade the speakers I'm sure it would be even better. Has a range of basic sound adjustments with pre-programmed sound categories and a user programmable 'custom'. Not the most fancy of displays, but again, if this is your concern than you will need to spend much more. THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE INSTALLING THIS IN YOUR VEHICLE: The only thing to watch out for is clearance when docking an iPhone. When docked, the iPhone is at a 10-15 degree angle. If your dash extends past the radio (ABOVE) it will/may interfere with docking a device. This was ALMOST an issue with a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport as the vents extend outward right above the stereo. Very tight fit, with an iPhone touching in contact with them but it works only by a hair. BOTTOM LINE??? Very cool affordable concept radio with endless uses for a dedicated iPhone user. With all the features of the iPhone available, you have an all in one solution for any car for under $40. No need for Bluetooth, Cables and Chargers. Just dock and go.

(UPDATED) For the price I think this is an alright purchase. It's a nice radio and very user friendly. I wasn't looking for anything too expensive I had a 2001 Chevy Tracker that still had the manufacturers CD/radio, my price range was no more than $50 so getting this for $35 for me was a steal. My iPod goes every where with me so for me the main purpose of the radio was for iPod use. After having installed for a few months I started having LOTS of issues with it. First the swing down dock station is good idea however kinda flawed as it was pointed out to me the flip down doesn't work with most dashes as space doesn't allow and if it does chances are your heater or AC is going to be blowing directly on it which is not good for any iPod. It doesn't hold the iPod securely if you go over bumps it will stop playing as it kinda disconnects from the docking station. It charges iPods great, I phones not so much, sooooo slow :( It's hard to use the docking station with any kind of protection on the phone or iPod, using otterbox or something similar was usually always an issue with this docking station. Sound quality is horrible, with the radio you get little to no stations at all and the iPod you'll have to have your volume turned up super loud on the radio to get a good sound from it. I also found after doing a normal Apple update the display screen on the radio constantly says no compatible with iOS... . Also no blue tooth unless you are purchasing the extra piece to install. My advice be patient wait a few more weeks and add to the piggy bank to get something better.

a really great product. it fit perfectly in the slot converter i had to buy. really easy to install. you have to know how to splice wires and crimp or tape them together though. overall its a great radio. i hardly use it closed. it makes some squealing noises with my iphone. i'm not sure if thats just because of the iphone itself. when i have music playing, i cant hear it though. i hardly use the remote, but its a good accessory to have. Dual is supposed to release an iphone/ ipod touch app soon to work with it even better. i wish the bluetooth module came with it but for the low price of the radio, it wasn't that big of a deal to order the 50 dollar module separately. i suggest this radio to anybody with an ipod, it really works out well. another problem with the iphone is that with the bluetooth connected to it it defaults to the a2dp streaming when it connects so you either have to wait for it to connect before you put the iphone in the dock, or switch the audio back to the dock when it connects. not that big of a deal.

I use this on a single axle tractor trailer, which is twice as rough as a tandem tractor. And let me tell you the dock holds the iPhone, no problem. I've driven in very rough roads, where you have to slow even below the speed limit because the road beating is too much and the Iphone stays put. I primarily use it to keep my iphone charged while running GPS and it keeps up, even while playing music at the same time. Now let me tell you about the sound quality that comes out of this thing through the iPhone. I've never had better sound come out of my speakers as it comes out through the iPhone (connector, not audio input). It's better sound than using head phones, it's that good. wouldn't you know it, Apple changed the iphone connector, so this thing is limited to the 30 pin connector. I'm using it with Iphone 3g,

I ordered two of these because of the price. Figured I could mount one in my old classic car. The good: It powers up fine. It hasn't set my dash on fire. It' sounds quite good out of both left and right speakers. FM section seems to work quite well. The Bad: The AM section is non-existent. You can put it on "AM" but there are no stations. Only noise. I tried two different car antenna's on it. One about 13" and the other an older stainless one about 36". NEITHER of them results in anything usable across the entire AM band. On some of the really powerful AM stations I can hear a faint bit of voice or music in the background. Nothing more. I bought this one specifically because it included AM as that's where most of the news and traffic stations are. And it's totally useless for that function. (I'm VERY surprised no one else seems to have mentioned this.) So really, it's an FM radio and supposedly it will dock iPODS. It doesn't take any memory cards or USB drives. So really, it's pretty useless. NOTE: Remember I said I bought 2 of them? I swapped the first one out for the second on and got the exact same results. So this wasn't just bad luck where I got one of a thousand that had something wrong with it. It's two in a row with vastly different serial numbers so that means the entire model is likely bad in this sense. I was busy with other things and by the time I hooked it up, one was already past the Amazon return window. It's not a lot of money but it's annoying all the same. This may explain why they were/are being sold off so cheap. The second one is within the return window but I discovered when I tried to return it that I have to mail it back to some place in Nevada. NOT AMAZON. (In spite of it being marked "Prime".) The vendor says they will cover up to $20 postage. But to ship it back from Ontario Canada with tracking, will cost over $25.00. So I won't get all the postage back. I'm not willing to take the chance with a vendor that's apparently selling defective products. NOTE: Others have commented that this doesn't HAVE Bluetooth. They're right. It's Bluetooth "READY". Meaning you need an impossible to find expansion module for Bluetooth to actually work. EDIT: One very important issue. This item should not be listed as a "Prime" product on Amazon Canada.
