I'm a firm believer that if you can decide on a specific brand of battery operated equipment, try hard to buy just that brand so you may interchange batteries and chargers where permitted by manufacturer. With this said, I stick with 2 brands that I've had excellent luck with and cover different areas of use mostly, just a little overlap. The 2 brands (I have no deal with these brands, just like them because of my experience with them) I believe in are DeWalt and Ego. In this case my latest purchase was this weedtrimmer. It has great features and I am very impressed with the power it has and how long it operates on a charge. My favorite feature is filling up the spool with trimmer line. Ego has made this process one of if not the easiest to do in the industry! It holds a lot of line and being battery operated, is nice and quiet. I live right along side a field and every once and a while I need to cut it back some to not interfere with my cutting of the grass in my own yard. When doing this, every once in awhile you run across a small whip of a start of a tree. Obviously the line isn't going to cut through this but it also doesn't stop the Ego. It just hammers away til I backoff and cut around these saps. This Ego unit is on the line between homeowner and commercial quality. It's highend homeowner and takes the same battery and charger that I already have for other Ego products like the Leaf Blower for example. Even if I would get a Ego 2 Stage Snow Blower some day, they all take the same battery and charger. So if you have a large project going on, and a battery runs out... you have more charged batteries to grab and go on with. In my opinion, one of the greatest features of sticking with a brand. In my own opinion I believe you get excellent value for your money buying these 2 brands. Oh, and as far as durability, my leaf blower was the first Ego purchase I made years ago and I'm still using it and the battery and charger that came with it!

These are awesome! I was a sceptic about electric. I own allot of gas equipment. We have over four acres of land that needs clearing every year by our fire dept. In our town in Ca the fire dept puts a $10,000 lean on your place if they dont like the way you fid weed abatement! I bought two Ego power 15” string trimmers with carbon handles and 2 Ego power 5 amp hr battery's. They worked awesome. Im impressed. They are tuff! To spool new cutting line is so easy and high tech. Manual is not good at all. Just cut a 14’ length of cutting line. Stick it in one hole on trimming head where line comes out, feed it in until it comes out other hole. Then pull both ends of cutting line so they are both 7feet from string trimmer head. Make them equal length 7’ on each side of trimmer spool. Then with battery in trimmer push green button on back of trimmer spool head ( Not power trigger) . And click click click! It auto spools the cutting line. Let go of green button when 7 inches are left. The manual is a joke! Not good at all. But the equipment is awesome. I bought two of these. And a blower, and the ego power head with a brush cutter attachment ANF a pole saw attachment. Then i bought the Ego Power 16”? Chain saw. This is the BEST equipment purchase i have made in years. It cost a arm and leg for 5amp Hr battery's, but after that you’re all good to go. I use the 2.5amp hr battery's while 5am hrs are charging. I love yard work again! And now more $500 repairs, on my gas equipment yearly, and gas, noise, smell of exhaust. These do better and zero maintenance. And light to carry and hold. Just buy these! They are awesome. Dont loose the allen wrench and screws that come with it.

We picked up the EGO POWER+ Combo (Cordless Trimmer and 670 CFM Blower) for a fantastic price and couldn’t be happier with the purchase. We've already got nearly the full line of EGO equipment, and this combo just adds to why we love the brand so much. The 15" trimmer with POWERLOAD makes line loading effortless, and it cuts through weeds and grass like a pro. The blower is incredibly powerful—670 CFM is no joke—and it handles yard cleanup with ease. The included 56V 4.0Ah battery and charger are great additions and offer plenty of runtime for our needs. They are both great, just wish I would of known that this weedeater spins Clockwise which is completely opposite to what I've used for the last 20 years! It's actually quite a pain in the butt when you walk with it as it sprays all debris right into you and your face....wish EGO would of done better with this, but hey sometimes you have to change directions in life. But the actual power of both the weedeater and blower are AMAZING. I have 3 batteries (7.5,5.0,4.0) and I mow less then an acre of grass. I don't even need to touch the 4.0 battery with mowing, weedeating and blowing everything. Honestly I'm super happy I bought these and already have a List on Amazon with just EGO products and accessories lol. Again just beware this weedeater doesn't spin counterclockwise and apparently there is a certain version that can be reversed......do your research if this is a problem (wish I did lol) Overall the durability of the products and the speed at which I can use them is so much better then gas. The noise level at which your putting out is super QUIET.....I mow close to dark now with the LED lights too and I guarantee my next door neighbor doesn't even know I'm mowing lol.

The only complaint is the battery (2.5 Amp hours) that comes with this unit only lasts 30 minutes. This is fine for smaller properties. I have a large area that takes between 1 and 2 hours to complete. My solution is to purchase a 5 Amp hour battery to use after the 2.5 Ah battery expires and placed on charge in case the 5 Ah battery expires before the job is finished.
