Yes that sounds dramatic, but it's not an overstatement. This trimmer was such a massive upgrade for me and it has substantially improved my lawn maintenance routine. My previous trimmer was a cheap corded big box store brand and was long past its useful life when I decided to upgrade. I chose the EGO cordless based the outstanding reviews and now I know why it has such high ratings. This was an investment purchase for me (paid off in installments), so I did a ton of research before taking the leap. There was a lot of consensus among YouTubers and bloggers that this was a great product, but I was still a little reticent to drop this amount of cash on an optional piece of lawn equipment. But this baby has proved itself worthy of the price and the reviews! It was very easy to assemble, although I did have to watch a video to see if I was installing the handle correctly. Speaking of the handle, it's very sturdy but also very comfortable and my hand doesn't get tired of holding it. My favorite feature of this trimmer is the automatic string loader. It took me a little fiddling to figure out how to feed my line into the loading holes, but once I did, the magic began! The feeder is a little noisy and you have to keep an eye on it, because it will swallow up the whole string if you don't stop it in time. Don't worry if this happens to you though because it's easy to open up the string chamber and start over. The battery life on this baby is excellent! I've never run out of battery while trimming my lawn. I've used it for an extensive cleanup in my back yard to take down a large amount of brush, and it still didn't get close to running out of charge. The battery docking station was easy to mount to the wall, and the battery is fairly easy to get on and off the trimmer (although it takes a little push to get it on). I saw some reviewers say that the weight of this machine made their arms tired (primarily because of the big battery), but I find the weight to be an advantage. It makes the trimmer feel more sturdy and allows me to make smoother lines when I'm edging. This trimmer has made me a master at edging by the way. I get compliments on my lawn from fully grown dudes all the time (I'm a lil gal), and I can see their envy when I whip this bad boy out. My yard has the cleanest lines in the neighborhood, and I'm very proud of my progress at making crisp edges along my driveway and sidewalk. Overall, I cannot recommend this trimmer highly enough. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!

My ryobi, about 3 years old, broke into a thousand pieces while I was weed-eating. I talked to my contractor & he raved about EGO products. So I took a chance. Glad I did. I am able to weed-eat on LOW power!! And does an excellent job & after trimming the entire yard, the battery gauge showed 70% power left! And loading new string? That is going to be a cinch. No spools, just line. You stick the line into the head, pull it thru to the other side, pull until the 2 pieces are about equal in length, then push a load button. It pulls in & winds the string by itself. Check out videos online to see how easy loading new trimmer line is. I love this trimmer so much that I bought an EGO blower on Prime Day #1. It is being delivered today. Do your research. I did. I think I made a good decision.

I've bought Stihl products for about 40 years, so when I was first interested in a battery powered trimmer I looked at a couple of their models at my local Ace. Right off the bat, the trigger release mechanism was hard to work on every display unit they had, and the employee couldn't get them to work any better. Their quality has really tanked over the last decade! Anyways, I did some research on other brands and decided to give this E-GO unit a try. So far I'm pretty impressed. It was easy to set up, and easy to use. The fit and finish is good and the trigger release works really well! I have a half acre with about two dozen trees, 75' of shrubs, and another 100' or so of landscape beds that I trim around which takes about 20 minutes. I used the low speed setting for thin areas and switched to high for the thicker stuff. I ended up with half battery life remaining when I was done, which would work out to about 40 minutes run time. The unit is a bit heavy (but expected with such a large battery) and the bump head is super sensitive...even letting out line if you get a little sloppy with controlling the unit and it slightly hits the ground. I really like the fact that nothing is running and there is no noise as I move between areas. All in all I would recommend this trimmer.

Now the weight might just be the way I hold it, for whatever reason when its in use, all the weight is in one arm with the way I'm using it. Perhaps my previous one was so light I never noticed but I bought a strap support for this one so it is fine. For some context, I was using a really old trimmer before this that didn't have any conveniences of modern trimmers such as tapping the head to push out more strings. I had to cut out separately 6 inch strings and had to replace them constantly as I am trimming. So to me, everything about this trimmer is amazing aside from the weight. The trimmer is more than powerful enough for home use, cutting the grass was smooth and I never had any grass stumping it or not cutting. The battery lasts long enough to get the job done. Unless you hold the trigger down on max high the whole time, it easily lasts 45 mins with 2 bars to spare when I finished. Battery also charges really fast in about 20-30mins. Side note, charge the battery in the garage or isolation, it gives off a strong smell when its charging. Overall, these were my main concerns for a trimmer and this product delivered.

Powerfull and not so heavy. There is 2-speed option. Battery last easily more than 30 min and charge in 50 min which is great!

Home use. Found better balance by removing protective guard.
