I was about to send this ice maker back, then decided to go ahead & use it due to no longer having ice making from our refrigerator. Now am glad I kept this ice maker. Great quality / quick ice production / quiet/ super easy to use. I use it every couple of days because of the ice production( this is for a family of 8 living in Texas! Fits well on my counter. Purchased the 3 gallon water jug to feed the water in on top of the ice- maker, but I had difficulty with the jug stability .That part would be excellent if it was more stable with the filled jug. And it is self cleaning to boot ! I also bought a cleaning solution for the ice- maker , but you can make your own diluted cleaning vinegar solution for cleaning . The run time can be adjusted from 1 hour up to 24 hours, & the ice thickness can also be adjusted. we had a bullet shaped ice cube maker previously that lasted little over a year. It didn’t hold much water & had to be filled frequently, & it had to be manually cleaned. Love , love this new ice-maker much better!

I bought this ice machine in April of 2023 to use at my office. Living in the south the summers can be brutally hot, I thought it would be nice to have ice available. Now, our ice machine in our refrigerator at home is having some trouble keeping up with everyone home at the same time. I didn't notice until the Christmas holiday when there five of us home at the same time all wanting ice. Here we are in the third week of January 2025 and all of us are home together and out of ice in the refrigerator. Super annoying. I finally decide to add an ice machine at home and was searching for the same one I purchased for work. I'm buying my second one of these today as it has worked so well, five days a week for eight hours a day for almost two years now. It has an option to add the big water bottle on top so you don't have to keep refilling it, but at the office we just keep a five gallon bottle with an electric pump thing next to it and it works better for us. It's very tall with the bottle on top and we lack counter space. Other than that, it uses two average size pitchers of water to fill up and that can last the whole day. I have hauled it home several times to give it a good cleaning, only because living so close to the ocean, dust is everywhere so I wanted to vacuum out the motor areas as well. Plus, sitting water can get a little slimy over a long weekend...especially when it's 60 degrees one day, 90 the next and then 50 degrees the third day. I have had no issues cleaning this machine. It has a drain plug on the bottom so it's not a complicated task. I have gone through five of those bullet ice machines, that ice melted fast and they just kept breaking, they certainly do not travel well at all. So, paid extra to get this machine and I, as well as my office staff have been very pleased. I am a bit of an ice snob and would absolutely love a nugget ice machine, but again living in the south with the heat I do not think one could keep up as it too melts fast. I cannot say enough good things about this ice machine. Great value for the money and as I stated, I bought it in April of 2023 and have used it almost daily since then. It makes ice fast, it's easy to clean and will fit on your kitchen counter. It takes two average size pitchers of water to fill, it's not loud by any means, unless you count the first drop off ice. Perfect for an office staff of ten or a family of five, easy to clean and transport for travel ( camping, road trips) Five stars! I hope this was helpful!

2nd update: I continued to use the ice machine even though it appeared the nickel plating was deteriorating, and to its credit the machine has kept on working just as well for another year. Now however, the pump that cycles water through the spray bar at the top is starting to make noise. I suspect the pump impeller or it's attachment to the motor has become worn or damaged. Flow rate does appear reduced, but is still effective. I don't know how much life is left in it, but at this point I can't complain. Overall I've been quite happy with this ice machine for more than two years. Update: After almost a year of continuous use and still being happy with this ice maker I discovered that the nickel plating on the chiller grid where the ice forms is beginning to flake away. This is not good for anyone to ingest, but doesn't seem to have much effect on its ability to make ice. I have only ever used mild dish soap and nickel safe ice machine cleaner on my machine. I have however also occasionally used bottle brushes to clean out the nooks and crannies in the machine. I suggest anyone else using/cleaning this machine regularly to be extra careful around the chiller grid. This review is for the version that makes cubes, not the "bullet" ice. There are tips for cleaning the machine farther down in the review. After about a month of continuous use and one cleaning, so far this is the best countertop ice maker I've come across for the money. The ice is very nearly crystal clear, of consistent size and takes longer to melt than "bullet" or "nugget" ice. It works fantastically for everything from smoothies to elegant cocktails. The display on the front is quite nice, and being able to adjust the ice-making cycle time is very handy. It is not without a couple of drawbacks however. If you've any experience in a café or restaurant, you likely have encountered this type of ice maker before: Water cascades down a grid of chilled squares and ice is formed in a sheet over top. The sheet is supposed to break apart into individual cubes when the ice making cycle has completed and the ice drops. In this small machine the ice doesn't have far to fall, so the cubes are often left in the intact sheet. There isn't much you can do about it except to reduce the cycle time, but that can result in smaller cubes with deep pockets in them. If you want closer to a full cube, the best solution is to smack the back of the sheet (the flattest side) sharply with the back of a spoon. This will typically shatter the ice connecting the individual cubes. Use care not to cause damage to the chiller grid the ice forms on. I do not use the reservoir adapter for larger water bottles, so I can't speak to how well it works (or doesn't). I do find the 3 liter internal capacity to be plenty sufficient, requiring less frequent refilling than previous countertop ice makers I've had. As for noise, I don't find it to be any more noisy than any other ice maker. That is to say it does make some noise during the ice-making cycle, but it is similar to a mini fridge for example. When it comes to cleaning, it took a couple tries to figure out how to get the entire machine cleaned. The "self clean" cycle is only so useful. It runs water/cleaning solution from the basin under the ice basket over the chiller grid. The large reservoir in the back only gets used if/when the water level in the front basin is too low (detected by a float under the ice basket). This means that if you just toss a measure of cleaning solution into the back reservoir and run the "self clean," none of that cleaner will ever get to the front of the machine unless you drain it. Fortunately there is a small drain plug under the front right corner for just this task. If you just leave the drain open however, the entire reservoir will simply drain out and it will never run over the chiller grid. The best method for cleaning I've found is to start by draining the machine completely. Then add only a small amount of cleaning solution into the rear reservoir (perhaps two cups/16 oz of liquid total, water + cleaner, no more) and hand clean the surfaces with a clean, soft sponge, cloth or bottle brush (do not use anything abrasive as the plastic will be easily scratched, providing places for bacteria to grow). Plug the machine in and run the self clean cycle: it will take the cleaning solution from the rear reservoir into the front basin and it over the chiller grid. Once the self clean is finished, drain the entire machine again. Thoroughly rinse the chiller grid and front basin with fresh water (I use the spray attachment on my sink faucet for this. A spray bottle will work as well). With the drain open, fill the rear reservoir completely with fresh water and allow it to drain out completely in order to rinse any residual cleaner from the reservoir and internal tubing. The spray bar at the top can be carefully lifted out of its brackets without disconnecting the tubing to wipe under and around the area and replaced. Then you are done. It's pretty involved, but dramatically easier and more effective than any of the several "bullet ice" type ice machines I've ever owned. Those are quite literally impossible to clean fully unless you partially disassemble them. Unless you absolutely must have "bullet" ice, this machine is far superior to those types in nearly every way. It is absolutely worth the slightly higher price tag.

I've had a Frigidaire bullet ice maker for almost a decade. It finally went bad and needed a replacement. The reviews on this were outstanding, so I gave it a go. It's surpassed my expectations big time! With the bullet ice maker, you had to let it go through 5 cycles (an hour) before it made ice. The first batch of this ice maker is perfect and only takes about 12 minutes. The ice is crystal clear and couldn't be more perfect. Super easy to clean. I wish I would've purchased this years ago!

Was in the market for an ice maker and was leaning towards for one of the Frigidaires models , but I had to pass because of the reviews in regards customer service how they deal with there customers. This Ice maker is fantastic and keeps up with my family no problem that I have to shut it down before I can make more ice . I keep it at the highest setting number 6 to make the ice thicker squares!! I can confirm they are solid square peices of ice . Best bang for your buck !!

So far, so good. Ran it for a half a day, makes ice great, pretty quiet. I just go down and bag it up every half hour and put it in the freezer I really enjoy the automatic features, i do not have to worry about it running out of water while still running as it pauses itself. Hope it lasts a while!

This has been working well for almost 2 years. It is now making a very loud noise. The fan is still working and water still running and freezing but sounds very very loud. Anyone have any suggestions? ( we have cleaned it and cared for it)
