I was initially frustrated by the outer jacket fraying during installation but this technique works great and makes these sleeved lines even easier to work with than plain old stainless lines. 1. Saturate a half inch band of braid with plain super glue and let dry. 2. Cut through the middle of the super glue area with a hack saw or band saw - no need to tape. 3. Clean up the end with nippers. I went all the way around and made a 45 degree chamfer to make entry to the fitting easier.. 4. Clamp hose in vice, lube with silicon grease and drive on fitting with an impact driver and 3/4" Socket. 5. Lube and screw on the end with a 3/4" flare wrench. The included fittings of nice quality. The Kit has a complete variety of fittings and is an excellent value.

This is a pretty good kit and will service most of your needs. I'm new with the fittings and hose and need to relate that the directions do not say that the nut that goes over the hose is a left hand thread, after I discovered that, it was smooth sailing installing the hoses to the fittings. Also when cutting the hose with a cutoff disc it will have a tendency to pinch the blade so beware of a "kickback" on the cutoff wheel, a hacksaw didnt do it for me. Just a slight learning curve.

I have a 2017 Cadillac ATS all-wheel-drive with a 2.0 engine, my transmission coolant line started leaking where the rubber meets the metal line after 92,000 miles , they would’ve charged me over $2200 to replace this line because it’s very difficult to do, the dealer quotes 11 1/2 hours ,to do this you have to lower the cradle, which holds the engine, I originally bought the OEM line set here on Amazon for under $95, found out very quickly ,I could not install this myself. Along with this evil energy kit ,I had to buy two 6 AN to 3/8 compression fittings ,that I was able to add to the original line once I cut it in half. Or just pass the oem rubber hose as it meets the hardlines. by the way, the black on the OEM hardlines is a PVC which is larger OD than 3/8. You must take a torch and heat that up and wipe that black plastic off so the 3/8 fitting will fit on that OEM line. Just be sure to check all the fittings for any loose metals from machining and blow that out. And when you’re putting the fitting on the hose, I used transmission assemblee goo which you can get on Amazon relatively cheap , Install the fitting counterclockwise it will go on much easier. Wrapped the line with painters tape before you cut it. Bought some 10 inch Doyle cable cutters from Harbor freight, for $22 was able to cut this with no loose end, used a torch to cauterize the outer nylon jacket edge. Was able to purchase the quick connect fittings for the radiator , these are also 3/8 that goes from quick connect of the radiator to male 6AN most of this is detailed in my pictures. Hope this helps somebody save a big chunk of money, as it did me. One note: I could’ve got by with a 10 foot set instead of a 20 for this job .

Installation of the fittings went smoothly only after realizing they had reverse threading. Then it went on super easily and holds really well. Then hose is of good quality and definitely recommended.
