As a former drummer, when my wife told me she bought a "roll up" drum pad for our son... I was skeptical. After it came... I was surprised. It has a high-hat pedal and a kick drum pedal – wasn't expecting that. It's got a few different drum kit sound banks – wasn't expecting that. It's got a rather loud speaker (and support for headphones) – wasn't expecting that. It has MIDI support if you want to hook it up to a computer to control a software drum kit – wasn't expecting that. It also came with sticks and headphones, which was a nice bonus. Surprisingly, this unit can keep up with some complex drum patterns. It's a ton of fun. Practically speaking, it's an awesome introduction to drumming for kids or adults. Since it has both a high hat and kick pedal, you can actually learn all your coordination and basic drum patterns and then, after you're showing promise, "upgrade" to a real set when you're ready. One feature I appreciated is the button on the unit called "special." It swaps the high hat and snare drum locations to make it easier to drum if you're used to a more traditional drum setup where you'd play the high hat with your right arm. A couple things to just be aware of... First off, it's not a "professional" drum kit. That should be obvious, but it's worth stating. In other words, it doesn't vary the sound depending on where you hit the pad, or play louder or softer depending on the impact velocity. Also, the drum sounds sound good for what it is, but don't expect to be able to record these and have it sound like a real kit. But again, I highly doubt that's why you're buying this. All in all, for children or for adults exploring drumming for the first time, it's very worth the money. I've had as much fun playing with it as my son. I can almost assure you you'll have a blast.

Our kids love playing with it. One will jump on the drums and the other on their little karaoke machine. It has some built-in beats they can play along with when selected. There are several different sound settings for the various drums and symbols. It stays in the basement so it's never too loud upstairs, and there is a volume control. They can also plug in headphones if you don't want to hear it at all. It's also portable as long as you charge the built-in USB rechargeable battery. The rubber is very durable so I don't see how they could ever break this toy.

I purchased this for my 5 year old grandson and gave it to him on Christmas Day. The ear buds did not stay in his ears without me holding them but he loved drumming. Without the ear buds, you can not hear the sound of the drumming. I am going to return the set and I purchased another set (same brand) with a built in speaker and his mom will purchase better fitting headphones if there is still an issue with the new ones. This is a great option for a young child to explore drumming. I love the portability aspect of it and the fact that it is so compact. I would definitely recommend the drum pad but upgrade to the one with the speaker for only a few dollars more.

I got this for our three year old who lives to "drum" on everything. She loves it and her dad enjoys playing with it after she goes to bed too! He was very impressed with the kit. There are different drum kit sound you can use, it's battery operated and charges via USB-C (provided cord), I thought it needed to be plugged in to use and was pleasantly surprised that it was still going after unplugging with it on. 😅 our kit came with two pedals, which we haven't used yet since it's mostly used on the floor, and headphones, with a built-in speaker. Great value and so far, it's been worth it! I hope it's durable and lasts a while!

I bought this for my four year old grandson and he loves it. It uses headphones and so he can bang away without the rest of us having to listen. It's easy to put away and doesn't take up much space. Highly recommend for kids.

Wasn't expecting much. Bought the one with MIDI. Sounds fairly good on it's own, quite loud, but once hooked up to the Mac computer it was awesome! All pads were correctly assigned automatically. Now we can record our own drum tracks very easy. No computer typing! it is not touch senstive so not quite live drum sounds. Expected for this price. The special button switches the hi hat and snare positions, but should also move the cymbals. The pad on the top right should be a cymbal for when you finish a drum roll. Pedals worked good. Play on a hard surface like a table, coffee table, etc. not the couch. Overall, obviously you get what you pay for, not expecting a comparison to actual electronic drums, but a great entry into it, especially for aspiring young drummers or musicians wanting a cheap set for recording on their computer. Definitely buy it if you're interested. Just make sure it is the midi one, if you want or need that.

The drum set is sturdy and has held up against my two young children playing it. I wish the volume default was a bit lower. The pedal and headphone accessories aren't as sturdy as the actual kit. Sound quality is great for the price point, and I love that my kids can play silently or unplugged.
