I’ve been using EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46 for a bit now, and honestly, it’s one of the better sunscreens I’ve tried. It feels super light on my skin and doesn’t leave that annoying white cast like some others do. Plus, it doesn’t make me break out, which is huge because I have pretty sensitive skin. The only downside is the price — it’s definitely on the expensive side for everyday sunscreen. I’m willing to pay more for something that actually works and doesn’t irritate my skin, but I wish the bottle was bigger or that it was a bit more affordable, since you gotta reapply sunscreen often. Also, I think it’d be cool if they added some natural ingredients like aloe or argan oil to make it feel a bit more nourishing and soothing, especially for people with dry or sensitive skin. Oh, and fun fact — I saw Bryan Johnson (the biohacker guy who’s super into longevity) uses this brand in one of his videos, so that’s kinda reassuring! Overall, it’s a solid sunscreen that does what it’s supposed to without feeling heavy or greasy. Just wish it gave a little more bang for the buck.

have been using the sunscreen for 2 years now,and it is easily become a staple in my skincare routine. what sets this sunscreen apart is how lightweight and gentle it feels on the skin. I have sensitive skin and this formula doesn't clog my pores or cause breakouts -if anything, it is actually helped calm redness. I always had trouble with different brands It goes on smoothy, absorbs quickly, and leaves no white cast, which is a huge plus, I also love that it provides broad-spectrum protection and includes ingredients that support overall skin health. Whether I am spending a day outside or just running errands, I feel confident knowing my skin is protected. Overall, this sunscreen is a holy grail product for me. It is effective, dermatologist recommended and worth every penny!

I've only been using this for about a week but it does not irritate my super sensitive skin and has helped keep my oil in check. Since I've been using I do no look greasy mid-morning like I used to. I can't say that it is drying either. Just that my skin looks really good. I've been looking for a sunscreen to easily add to my morning routine and I think this is the one. No complaints.

Has a mineral-y scent to it, but not too strong...I mix it with a little bit of my facial moisturizer, then apply to face. Was recommended by my dermatologist. Don't need a lot, I use on my face daily and it lasts me quite a long time.

Short answer: it piles and flakes off Okay, this is an interesting one. I had a facial treatment done that has left me with very sensitive post inflammatory skin issues, including one that the dermatologist thinks might be a form of rosacea. Basically I can use cetaphil face wash and Vanicream daily facial moisturizer and nothing else, as I react to everything else. But, I need an SPF, we all really should be wearing one daily. ChatGPT recommended I try this one (thanks AI). I have been using it for about a week and so far it hasn’t caused any irritation, bumps or new flare ups. The problem is what other reviews have already mentioned, it piles and flakes right off the skin. I tried mixing it with my moisturizer and it still flaked off. Bummer. I was about to return it, but because it actually seems to calm my skin I have decided to keep it and use it as an “at home only” sun protection product. Yes, you even need SPF protection even if sitting inside your house. The light coming through windows is enough to benefit from SPF protection. So, when I wake up in the morning I put this on right away. In this way I am at least SPF protected while I make breakfast or do house chores, even if I do something outside like take out the trash or gardening. It’s also fine for just sitting around watching TV. But, if I am going out, then I shower it off and start my usual product routine without it. I can tolerate the EltaMD UV AOX Elements Tinted Mineral Face Sunscreen Lotion “a little bit”… I still get a few bumps though. However, if I am just around the house and not in public view, then I am very happy with this product and the lack of irritation and actual calming effect I get from it, along with knowing that for those hours I am UV protected. The product does have a scent! It is an almond extract scent. I am very sensitive to scents and don’t love it, but have found it tolerable and while it does linger for awhile, it eventually fades (or my brain just begins to ignore it). It hasn’t been a deal breaker.

I LOVE this sunscreen. It is so light weight I barely can tell it’s there I put it on everyday and the bottle lasts me at least 9 months. The tinted one makes me break out but the clear is perfection and I know that I’m protected from the sun.

My dermatologist recommended years ago and this has been a must use daily for my face. I put on my morning serum if C+E Ferulic from Skinceuticals, Elta MD and then my makeup. Feel like it helps the health of my skin and prevents suns spots. Makeup is perfect over this light moisturizer!

I’ve been on a never-ending quest to find a sunscreen that doesn’t break me out—even ones marketed for acne-prone skin have let me down. After so many failed attempts, I was ready to give up… until I tried this one. To my surprise, it didn’t cause a single breakout! But the real test came during a beach vacation. As someone who burns easily (thanks to my fair, pale skin), I slathered SPF 100 all over my body and used this sunscreen on my face. Despite reapplying religiously, my neck, shoulders, and back still turned red—yet my face stayed completely burn-free! Normally, even with a hat, my face ends up fried, but this time, I didn’t even bother with one. Not only did this sunscreen keep my skin protected, but it also didn’t clog my pores—a miracle in my book. If you’ve struggled with sunscreen-induced breakouts or need serious sun protection, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s been a total game-changer for me!

The white cast is not as strong as other sunblock such as Shiseldo sunblock or Dr Vanita Rattan

I originally bought this after seeing Sydney Sweeney use it in her Vogue skincare routine, and it also came highly recommended by my dermatologist. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it. A small, fingertip-sized amount goes a long way—just apply it to your face and neck daily. It not only protects against UV rays but has also helped brighten some dark spots over time. I wish I had started using sunscreen earlier, but this has now become a daily must for me. I have very acne-prone skin, and this EltaMD sunscreen has never caused breakouts or clogged my pores. I always make sure to keep it stocked!
