The 600W element went out after 3 weeks. Returned unit. :( I like this heater a lot. I can't imagine why anyone says it doesn't put heat out because it does even on the lowest setting. It is a bit bright at night but that's easy to overlook for the great heat. Remote control works just fine. It has three buttons....one for the light, one for low heat and the 3rd button is for high heat (you can have both heat buttons on for max heat). I checked my power bill and noticed very little increase over the previous day after running it several hours. I'm happy!

This is really really weak, you’d have to literally be one palm away from it in order to feel any heat, even with both coils turned on. It turns on and generates some heat, so I don’t think it’s broken or anything, it’s just super weak unless you really stick your face or hand super close. It wasn’t even windy so I can’t blame it on that. It looks pretty and I like the remote control, so I wanted to hang it above a lounge chair on my patio. But since it’s useless to me because it doesn’t warm me up, I’ll be returning it. Oh also, for a heater that’s meant to hang from the ceiling, the power cord is way too short, I connected it to an extension cord and the connection point was hanging mid-air around head level. It’s also pretty bright, in fact the coils are producing more light than the little white light it has separately at the bottom.

1. I see a lot of complaints about the light. Yes it is dim, I use it as a "night light" in my back room. Just enough light to see by. I didn't buy it for the light though. 2. Started out great - used in small enclosed porch just to try to keep it above freezing for an outside kitty to seek shelter. With windows covered room still stays about 10 degrees above outside temp - heater added a nice bit of warmth and kitty loves to sit under the heat. Not sauna warm but it certainly took the edge off. 3. Downside, less than 2 months in and the "high" heat setting completely conked out. Just in time for the below zero weather in Michigan. :-( Lowest setting barely registers in this weather, should be tolerable once it hits the high 20s again. Luckily I bought the add on warranty plan so that is next after I review manufacturer info ...

This was a very nice addition to my new gazebo. Heater works great and puts out enough light by its self which I didn't expect. Led light puts out the perfect amount of light on those warmer nights. Ready for ready installation right out of the box. Lots of great reviews from guests I have entertained watching hockey playoffs outdoors in various weather conditions.

I have this hanging about 4 feet above the center of my gazebo table. No matter where you sit the heat coming off this is minimal. It looks great, packaged well but I wish it actually offered better heating.

Exactly what they describe it as. I mounted it on our covered deck to cut the winter chill. Our deck is closed on two sides and open to our favorite views of the mountains. It cuts the chill as long as there is no wind. Looks good, remote works well and with a 10 foot ceiling that is a bonus. It does glow - it is infra-red after all. I like the light as I like to read on the deck in the evenings a didn't build with a light. I've seen complaints about the amount of heat. It isn't a huge heater and while I haven't measured it, I believe it puts out the 1500 watts advertised. Higher outputs are going to require higher current and/or voltage than the typical 120v circuit. That is the advantage of this size. If I want more heat, I'd have to run a new circuit or go to gas. Both at high cost. In an enclosed room 1500 watts will heat the room, outside it doesn't. We sit on our deck with lap robes and coats in the winter. This heater lets us do it into the 40s without wind without the jackets-our lap robes make it cozy. Recommended for the size of heater it is.

Excellent heater and easy to install - I used elegant chains suspended from hook in rafter and it keeps my dogs warm on the patio until they come in for bed....Nice value, well made and good switches - crisp and solid on - off.

We purchased this for the screened porch at our cottage. It was easy to installand heats the space perfectly with the 2 heat settings. The led light is perfect for playing cards. It so convenient to have a remote. This our third light like this and we would purchase it again.
