1st week with this Amazon Renewed Epson projector. Very happy with the outcome so far. The good: app setup, then tweak with remote. Color is accurate. Contrast is excellent. Projector is quiet. The bad. The OS is laggy and doesn't support Netflix. The audio. Hdmi doesn't support surround sound and optical is only 5.1. Haven't tried internal speakers b/c I have a surround sound. Tips: buy a Roku Ultra instead of using the Android OS. If your picture is blurry at the top, move projector back an inch or so and recalibrate. Use a screen, not the wall. Look up the picture settings online and adjust. Mine are cinema, temp 8, noise standard, super res 13, auto contrast 5, dynamic contrast high speed, scene gamma 4, frame interpolation low, hdr 9. Overall brightness at 75% of the up/down slider.

I believe this could be an excellent projector - just wasn't for me. Four critical areas where it failed my needs: 1. It is huge, I mean: HUGE! It is about 3x the size of my old Epson projector, which wasn't small... It's just too big for my place. Check size before ordering - and make sure you have room for it. 2. It doesn't work on textured walls. Being ultra-short throw unit, it stands very close to the wall and emits light at a very steep angle. Every imperfection in the wall then casts a long shadow. You really need a perfectly smooth screen for it. My old, long-throw projector was very forgiving in that respect. 3. This thing has android tv built in, wants to connect to the internet and listen to my voice. On the plus side - it allowed me to skip all this crap and just use it as what it is: a projector. Anyways, I don't get why every silly thing in my house asks me for wifi password, including light bulbs. I really do not need FBI, KGB and Chinese army know exactly when I turn my lights on, open a fridge, or use the projector. 4. I was actually expecting it to be a laser projector. I may be wrong, but I anticipated that a laser projector will always be "in focus" regardless of distance and angle. This thing has a focus ring on the side, and moving it makes a difference - which in turn makes me thing: it really isn't a laser projector. Picture was very good from it, anyways.

I bought this projector with the assurance of amazon. I have been using Epson Projector for about 10 years. This is really the best and different. First of all, the problem of hanging it on the wall or ceiling is over. I placed the device on my TV stand very close to the wall and made the settings by phone. The image is really good. Also this Unlike other projectors I have used, the Epson projector works with image motion enhancement on every image, including 4k movies, and the image is extremely fluid and natural. In addition, Amazon's exchange, shipping speed, fiat policy and customer services are extremely good. Thank you Amazon.. update I use Marantz AVR, I connected easily and I also watch Dolby Atmos movies. In response to the friend's comment above, it is necessary to adjust the focus and it is very easy to adjust, the entire screen is very good and the text is very good, I am very pleased.

Bought a refurbished unit and it did not go well. Speaker was blown right out of the box

Click to play video I wnet with this projector after long research and was not disappointed with the picture quality. It’s just awesome. The sharpness is working really well in the daytime. Glad that I went with Short instead of conventional projector. It’s been almost a month been using. It will update the reviews after six months of use.

Out of the box, I was not happy with the projector. I could not get it to pair with any of my Bluetooth speakers or surround system theater speakers. The Yamaha speakers on the device are really good, but if you want Bluetooth surround sound, that feature did not work for me. I tried pairing devices for 2 days and it never worked. Also, for the price it should have come with an autokeystone feature. My last ultra short throw projector had autokeystone and the Bluetooth connected instantly. This was sort of a step down when I was expecting to be upgrading. The picture quality is good at <100. Anything over that, the words are very blurred to the point you cannot understand the words, especially the words at the top of the screen. Its also very huge. Almost twice the size of my last ultra short throw projector. Because of the defective Bluetooth, I'm returning it to Amazon.

The Epson is much brighter and clearer than the Optima we replaced. Very easy setup and play

The app hardly ever worked to do it's re-plane adjusting for wall. And if you do try wall, it's going to shine on to every single wall blemish and make it a fixture in your movie. YOU HAVE TO BUY A SCREEN or you may as well buy one of those $400 no name projectors. Also at this price point, if getting a bigger tv doesn't pose logistical problems, do that. Though this thing is HUGE and very HEAVY. VERY HEAVY !!! and feels delicate too! Nah..... I got the 4010 instead. Not as crystal white.. but much much better value for money if you can do the room projection way.
