We are always running out of ice and this has solved the problem. I wish I would have bought this a long time ago. This ice maker is excellent and will delivery the 26 lbs. of ice per day. What a lot of people don't understand about countertop ice makers is that when the ice is made it is about 27 degrees and the ice maker is not a storage freezer. Think of it like the ice that was just made will sit in the ice maker which is like keeping ice in a cooler. It won't get colder it will just slowly melt and then gets turned back into ice again. Keep in mind when you pull ice out of your kitchen freezer that has been in there for several hours it is around 0 degrees vs. the 27 degrees right out of the countertop ice maker. So, ice from your freezer is going to last a lot longer in a drink than ice out of this countertop ice maker. So, that may not be ideal for some if you are having a drink outside on a hot day and not using an insulated cup. For best results take the ice out of the countertop ice maker and put it in a gallon ziplock bag and place it in the freezer for a little while so it will get down to the 0 degrees. That is not necessary though. The ice that comes right out of the machine is plenty cold enough for drinking beverages indoors. If you want to use the ice outdoors just place the ice in an insulated cup. Pros: Very quality built machine. Very easy to use. It uses lights to notify you of the status rather than annoying beeps. It really does make 26 lbs. of ice in an hour. First ice in about 8 minutes. Full basket of ice in about an hour. Pauses itself when ice basket is full and will resume ice production automatically as soon as some ice is removed. Light comes on when water needs to be added (keep in mind you still have a full basket of ice when this triggers). Melts very slowly and if you leave it on over night it only comes on once or twice to replace the ice that melted. Quite operation. It doesn't take up a lot of countertop space so we are able to leave it out and it matches our stainless steel fridge. It comes with a nice ice scoop which is great for parties. This ice maker keeps dropping ice every 8 minutes. The cord is very long so it doesn't have to be right up against the outlet. Cons: The only con I have about the machine is trying to drain the water remaining when you are done using it. There is a drain plug underneath it that is a little tricky to use because you can't see underneath the machine and you can't just turn the machine upside down to drain it per their instructions. That will harm the machine. What I found to be a great solution is instead of using the drain plug I use a microfiber towel to soak up all the water left in the machine. That only takes a quick second and you don't have to move the ice maker over the sink to drain it. I then leave the lid open to make sure it dries out. So it really isn't a con if you use the microfiber towel. It is so easy this way which means I never mind using the machine even to make a small amount of ice.

Very very happy. Incredibly fast ice maker. Got tired of ice makers in the refrigerator leaking and not working. I have people over for pool parties all the time and need a lot of ice. This Frigidaire ice maker is incredible it makes 9 pieces of ice every 6 minutes and my biggest problem is where to keep all the ice that it makes if I don't have people over. It has an infrared sensor so if the ice is overflowing it shuts the machine down. If it runs out of water it will let you know. Very user friendly easy and produces ice very quickly. You can make it larger small ice cubes but I just left it on large and I'm very happy with that. Fantastic purchase seems to be very very well made in the owner's manual it says it has a years warranty. Very very satisfied with my purchase.

I had to buy this because my husband and I are living in an apartment while our house is being built. The fridge doesn’t have an ice maker and I need ice. I purchased the black ice maker. It is one of the best purchases I have made. Ice is made quickly, the compartment for the water is large, allowing a lot of ice to be made, you can make small or large sized ice…it is just a very durable ice maker. It automatically shuts off if you forget to empty the ice from the machine but it keeps it frozen so it doesn’t melt back into the water reservoir.My only issue is that the ice will freeze or stick together and form big clumps. I make large batches of ice and put it in a container with a lid. To solve the clumping problem I just take it out and vigorously shake the container. That separates the ice. I wish that they made something like this when I was in college.

I got tired of doing the whole ice cube tray juggling routine and our kitchen situation precludes us from hooking up a water line to have the fridge make ice. I started looking around for alternatives and this is what I settled on. Initial impression out of the box is that this thing is huge for an appliance. It takes up about as much counter space as my stand mixer or air fryer. Also, you'll want to position it near to a sink, both for a water source and for a way to drain it once you're done making ice. This isn't really negotiable because I guarantee that if you have to move it around, you won't bother using it. Operation is dead simple, you fill the reservoir, pick which of the two sizes of pellets you would like, and in a few minutes it'll start dumping out ice. Water is held in the main compartment, finished ice sits in a tray just above the water reservoir. It makes two sizes of ice pellets, as mentioned. I can't really tell you the material difference between the two, they look pretty similar. The small is not small enough to fit any of my bottled water, but it does just fit a few of my reusable bottles. I still usually go with the larger pellets because they last longer in drinks. Performance wise, it spits out a modest cup of ice every handful of minutes - maybe every 5-7 minutes or so. It'll fill up the tray after about 4-5 cycles and pause until you empty it. The ice it puts out is "wet" because the interior of the machine itself is not refrigerated, although the machine itself has some cooler-like insulated walls. Basically: the moment your ice is made, it begins melting. You'll want to either us it ASAP or transfer it to the freezer. The main consequence of all of this is that if you have it produce a bunch of ice, and then store those cubes in a bag or bin in the freezer, they will all fuse together. Same song and dance as buying a bag from the store, you just gotta shake it and break it up. A secondary thing to mention here is that you could technically just leave the machine running all day if you wanted and any ice that melts will just recirculate into the machine and get turned back into ice as it melts in the tray. A full reservoir of water will generate enough ice to fill up two gallon freezer bags, no problem. At one time, though, it will only put about 4-5 cycles of ice in the tray - the machine will stop producing ice if the tray is full. You could feasibly leave this running if you had, say, guests over for a party or whatever and it'll keep up with normal demand. One minor nitpick on this front, though, is that the machine isn't capable of using *all* of the water in the reservoir. With about an inch or so left, it'll refuse to produce more. The issue with this is that when the machine isn't in use, you REALLY don't want to have it be damp or wet inside at all. It's imperative that you remove ALL of the excess water when it's not in use to prevent mildew. The way you achieve this is there is a small, awkward, non-ergonomic plug on the bottom of the machine that allows you to drain it. Unfortunately, as mentioned, it's fiddly, frustrating, and comes apart pretty easily. It's a plastic piece with a rubber stopper fitted around it and it comes apart super easily, leaving you trying to pry out the rubber stopper unassisted. It's annoying and I hate dealing with it. You also have to physically tilt the entire machine around to get all of the water out. Make sure you put it near a sink. Other than that, there isn't really anything else to mention. Noise level is minimal - sounds like a mini-fridge or something similar, occasionally you hear the rattle of ice dumping out. Nothing noteworthy to me. When it comes down to it, I've traded one annoying chore (juggling ice cube trays) for another (making ice, moving it to the freezer, draining the machine). Is it an improvement? I think so - I just make a bunch of it all at once and then I don't have to do it again for a few weeks. No more ice cube trays with three cubes in them, no more dripping water all over the floor, etc. Was it necessary at all? No.

Como muchas otras personas lo han dicho, hay que saber usarla y entender que no hace magia. Se trata de una fábrica de hielo de uso DOMÉSTICO. Te da suficiente abastecimiento constante para una reunión de 5 - 7 personas pero es importante tener ciertas consideraciones, como el ponerla a trabajar un par de horas antes de iniciada la reunión, que de ser posible le coloques agua fría o dejes algunos de los hielos en el contenedor del agua directamente para enfriarla y que la calidad de los hielos sea buena y se produzcan lo más rápido posible y que estés atento a que la cuchara/pala para hielos no se quede dentro de la máquina cerca del sensor de contenedor lleno, porque podrías dejar de producirlos constantemente. La primera ocasión que la usamos, nos decepcionamos un poco porque sentíamos que los hielos eran muy pequeños (aún los de tamaño grande) y que tardaba más de lo que nos hubiera gustado porque teníamos la expectativa de tener hielos casi al instante. Error de nuestra parte. Pero una vez que aprendimos a usarla a lo largo de la reunión y que le dimos un poco más de tiempo nos ha funcionado bastante bien y estamos muy satisfechos con el producto. Hay amigos y familiares a los que les ha gustado tanto que nos han preguntado sobre ella y ya se han comprado la suya también.
