Summary: The Fesley FED1000 is an amazing e-drum kit. I was really surprised by the quality, innovation, and attention to details. It is a solid well built and well engineered set of drums. The electronic module is easy to operate and the features are impressive. It produces rich and real acoustic drum sounds. The drum heads are a made of a heavy duty mesh material. The feel, response, and sensitivity is excellent. The standalone hi-hat has a heavy duty stand. It sounds good and it functions nicely. The drums, symbols, and hi-hat are really close to being silent. I’m told that while playing with the headphones, they can’t be heard in an adjacent room. The kit takes some time to put together but it does come with a set of professionally written instructions that are easy to follow. The FED1000 is often recommended as a good option for beginners looking for a budget-friendly e-drum kit. The reality is this is a full size adult set with features and stability that go well beyond a budget-friendly option for beginners. I am a full size adult with over 45 years experience on acoustic sets. Granted I’m not playing in a band anymore, but the FED1000 is capable of that, and it has not disappointed me. Why I purchased this kit: I’ve played acoustic drums for years and in several bands dating back to the late 70’s. I had a full Rodger’s drum kit that I set up and played off and on in my garage. The wife and neighbors decided I didn’t need to play the drums anymore. LOL. I gave the set away to two young brothers from a family at church. The look of joy on their faces was well worth it. I am retired now and I really miss playing the drums. I recently tried out a few different e-drum kits in various music stores. I decided that’s the way to go to keep the wife and neighbors happy. I went on Amazon to see what was available for under $600. I explored several kits and watched several YouTube video demonstrations. Fesley was the best set for the price IMO. The FED1000 really sounded good in the demonstration videos and I could see it was highly functional. The standalone hi-hat was a huge plus. I really wanted the stand-alone snare drum, but it turns out the frame mounted snare is actually better, IMO. It’s nice not having the stand in the way and the position and height is fully adjustable. Conclusion: If you are looking for an e-drum set for under $500, this set will not disappoint you. It is a full size kit and everything is solid and well made, except for the drum stool. I am 6’1” tall and weigh 205 lbs. The stool would be ok for a smaller person but not for me. The headphones that come with the kit are kind of flimsy but they sound good. I didn’t purchase this kit for the drum stool and headphones so I did not consider them in my overall rating. I have a high quality set of headphones and I plan to purchase a drum stool with a backrest and hydraulic adjuster. In the mean time, the provided stool gets me drumming. I thoroughly enjoy this e-drum kit. I look forward to exploring all the sounds and options that are available. Update: After several days of putting this set to the test, including sore arms and legs (LOL), I continue to be impressed. I added two inexpensive BT wireless audio adapters (Beeitzie), one in receiver mode, the other in transmitter mode, so I could use my BT headphones and connect my IPhone to the module wirelessly. The audio in from my IPhone is controlled by the IPhone and not the drum module volume control. This is a nice feature to easily balance out the music I’m playing along with. The IPhone can also be directly plugged into the 3.5 mm “audio in” jack on the drum module with the same results. Someone really spent some time engineering this e-drum kit and I am enjoying the results.

FED 1200 W. Just got them and i am impressed with the quality. They took me some time to put the together and a second pair of hands would have helpful. I am a bit older than most drummers. Great design. Well worth the $$$. The directions were very good. The ear phones are not the best. I would give the 1200's five stars

This drum set is awesome! I work night shift, so I'm awake during the night and I can practice while everyone else is sleeping and there are no problems, it's super quiet! Great beginner set, I love that the high-hat moves, super sturdy. 4 stars instead of 5 though because the headphones it comes with are not comfy at all, and I will never use them, and the drum throne is pretty crappy too, it's usable but its wobbly and I will probably be upgrading that eventually. What's nice about this set too is you can buy an amp to play out loud, but I didn't want to spend that money, so I tried it in my guitar amp and it works perfectly! Overall, awesome set, but the headphones, throne, and installation instructions suck

First of all, the drum module sounds are just terrible to start with. I only use one user kit but made five more with different snares or hi hats but the toms, bass, and cymbals settings stay the same. Even the hi hat I use changes sounds on different user kits when it’s programmed to be the SAME hi hat. I don’t understand that one Second, the pad sizes are good, better than other kits this price but….. removing the 10” floor tom to use a 12” floor tom on a snare stand is WAY better. The hi hat size at 12” sucks. I replaced it with a low volume 14” hi hat, sticking the Fesley sensors on the underneath side of the upper hat (didn’t need a lower hat). Yes, I had to rip apart the Fesley hi hat to get the trigger out of it with its little control module. The trigger was dbl sided taped the hat and the module was screwed to the hat with spacers. The hi hat control worked as is with modified upper hat until it broke. Then I gutted it and made my on liner control using a plastic dinner plate so now it is sort of like a two piece hi hat. The Evan’s mute pad is necessary to keep vibrations down on the upper hat or the trigger just goes nuts. Fianlly, a REALLY GOOD IMPROVEMENT THAT IS FREE: Remove the stupid rubbers from the drum pads and tighten down the heads one to 2 turns per screw to start with. They look way better (like actual drums), play much better rim shots and even a “cross stick” gets picked up, and rebound becomes way improved with tighter heads (obviously). I also replaced all cheap plastic clamps with Gibraltar and got quality hi hat stand and pedals since theirs suck. I also butchered the frame, losing both side pieces and using metal clamps and their included cymbal arms as new side pieces so nothing is in my way. See photos

Bought the FED 1000 a few months ago and was surprised at the build quality and sound of these drums. I played a $3,500 Roland kit at the music store and while not the same quality overall, I have just as much fun playing mine and saved $3,000. Hadn't played in 40 years and now I'm playing to all of my favorite music including difficult Foo Fighter songs. I put my Bose headphones on, pipe in my music using my Spark Mini amp and I'm in a rock concert every night playing with the bands I love and my housemates or neighbors can't hear anything. I did blow out my trigger on my tom and one of the symbols but I play really hard, metal, hard rock, etc. The Fesley support team is great and easy to contact via email, always get a quick response. I may buy the 1500 to expand my kit for recording and looking forward to this. I'll build a Rush kit!

This kit sounds decent and looks great. The feel of the pads are very nice and feel very close to real skins. The limits to placement are so very minor and is fairly easy to set up(a few misplaced and then reset pads and cymbal mounts). It fits in a fairly small area. The different sizes in the crashs and ride and snare and toms are nice. With the separate hi-hat it makes it feel more like an acoustic kit. The snare is nice and all the pads are responsive. The 'brain' allows for turning the drums off for the practice songs(NICE) and for the pad(all pads) sensitivity as well. My roommate says that it isnt very loud for him(the tapping on the pads as i use headphones). I am a pretty hefty, so if you are too, get a strong throne :) I am very pleased with the kit, and am going to get a lot of use out of this. Off to knock years of rust off :)
