Always seems like you find a pair laying around when you least expect it, wish they weren't, and if you're type A, it might even make you a bit angry. And then when you actually need a pair, they're nowhere to be found! Does this resonate with you? Well, it happens to me all the time! Figured it was way past time I ordered myself my own pair, a decent pair at that, and stashed them away from the rest of the fam! First impression of the Fiskars: Kind of thin and lightweight. Durability a little concerning. Would they last? On the plus side, I like the aesthetics. The blades are tinted light black and the handles feel comfortable in the hands. After a handful of uses - cutting zip ties, paper, and cardboard - there were no issues. I'd say they were on par with the most recent Scotch pair I purchased about a year ago. Appearance: 4.5 Sharpness: 4.5 Durability: 3 Comfort: 4.5 Value: 5 Overall: 4.4 Final thoughts: I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again. Durability is still a concern (let's see how they hold up), but so far happy with them! **Pro tip: A simple sharpening hack for dull scissors. Take a heavy duty sheet of aluminum foil (or fold a regular sheet multiple times) and make dozens of cuts into it at different angles. Each cut should be a little different, some using the full cutting motion with the whole blade, and others making smaller short cuts closer to each blade's tip. Should get a bit sharper with each cut! -- UPDATE: 6 months later --- Still going strong, no issues. Buy with confidence.

I LOVE these scissors and use them all the time. I love the fact that they’re sharp without being dangerously so. I really enjoy the ability to cut paper or other surfaces as well as being able to cut tape/adhesive and it not getting the scissors all gunky/sticky. These scissors are worth the investment, and I would highly recommend them.

I see that I bought my current Fiskars Titaniums in 2015 and am so glad they are still available. The ones pictured look the same, so I am hoping they will perform as well as my old ones, which finally show signs of needing sharpening. At this price that's too much trouble. I LOVE my Fiskars and use them every day, on everything. One is in my sewing basket and the other in the kitchen. I use the kitchen one most often: for trimming meat, breaking down plastic fruit containers for recycling, or sectioning a pizza. I do have kitchen shears, but I prefer these. They are both strong and sharp. And they are lightweight, which at 78 I appreciate more every year. If the new ones disappoint me, I'll let you know. PS: A man complained about the size of the holes. They are perfect for me to get my first three fingers through the larger one and my thumb through the smaller. My hands are about average for a woman, so I can see that a man might want to heed his warning

Fiskars are the best scissors I've ever used. I bought a 6 pack of various sized scissors at Home Depot and not one of those pairs cut as well as these 8" scissors. I've been into Bonsai for a very long time and I still use the original sharp "surgical" trimming and the more heavy duty for larger branches which I bought in the early 70's. Nixon was president. Earlier today I found and "add on" of 2 8" pairs for under $5 dollars. I added those to my order. They are not the same of these with black but I'll bet they cut just as well. I also have several pairs of surgical services given to me by nurses, doctors and candy stripers when I had a long stay in 1977. Yes as recently as the 70's there were still candy stripers in a catholic hospital to wash hash hair and things like that. I still have and use those scissors on my trees and the fiskars are sharper to this day. I used these 8" today on a Serrissa which has hundreds of tiny whitle flyers. I also recommend the Fiskars diamond sharpener. It's like 4 bucks and works on all scissors.

Well.. These might be pretty good scissors, judging by the other nice pair of Fiskars that I bought for the kitchen drawer. Upon receiving the item, I noticed an Amazon "RP" barcode sticker on the back, and the package was TAPED together. And the blades are notched like somebody attempted to use them for wire cutters. I'm not happy about getting an item clearly used and damaged and sold as new. That's just plain wrong. But they're good scissors, and not completely ruined, so I'm keeping them. It's Too much of a pain in the @$$ to return them.

As a special education teacher, I cut A LOT. Whether it's lamination, something gluey/sticky, or paper, these scissors have never failed me. I've never owned a pair of scissors that I have loved so much. I will be searching for a class set of titanium safety scissors for my students little hands. I don't know why these scissors never get sticky, but they are magic! I can cut through adhesive Velcro dots and they still stand up to the challenge. AWESOME investment **PRO TIP** When your student's scissors get gluey and sticky, bring them home or use the cafeteria's dishwasher for an easy scissor gunk reset. Use the hot setting and all the glue falls off without lifting a finger.

I was looking for a new, decent pair of hair scissors, with nothing to be found at a decent price for something to be used only on myself. So I opted for Fiskars, since they’re an excellent brand. Before deciding, I tried out my fabric scissors, which worked great, although they’re a lot bigger - plus I wouldn’t want to risk ruining the blades for fabric with continuing use on my hair. So, this newly purchased pair also work very well for smoothly cutting my hair, with the only downside (besides still being bigger than proper hair cutting scissors) is that they don’t have the sharp points on them. But with the bits that do require a sharp point, my thread snippers have come to the rescue.

These are sharp and cut properly. I had some cheaper ones before that were not worth it. These are not too expensive but work well and look like they should last. They arrived quickly. Recommended.
