My boyfriend and I have been together for 15 years now. I have a 75% hearing loss in my right ear, probably caused by an ear infection during my childhood. I could not continually lay on my left side to block out the snoring of my beloved boyfriend. So, I began a search for an ear plug I could insert and sleep on comfortably so that I could get some shut eye, and my boyfriend could snore away. Because of my hearing loss, I only need to wear the one ear plug. The back of the box provides easy directions how to compress the plug to insert it into your ear canal. They are easy to clean with soap and water, but they are no longer as pliable and easy to compress, so I just grab a new plug. 1 plug might last me months. Every once in a while, I misplace or lose one. Sometimes, my ear canal gets itchy; I'll remove the plug in the middle of the night, and don't always reinsert it correctly because I'm sleepy. Also, my doodle snoops around for trouble, and if I haven't put my plug up on my dresser, he's been known to unfortunately find and swallow it. Anyway, those are the only few reasons I have needed to replace ear plugs over the years. Other than the itchiness once in a while, these Flents ear plugs have never caused any ear infections. I just have to keep my ears clean, right? In the past, I have purchased these Flents Foam Ear Plugs, 10 Pair with Case several times at a Big Box store that unfortunately, no longer sells them. The last time I bought a small box of these I paid $2.98 in 2019. Luckily, I found them on Amazon for the current price of $3.43 + tax. Yeah, time and prices increase. IMO, these are the best and most comfortable ear plugs for sleeping. I hear no snoring, birds chirping in the morning, doorbells, etc. I can wake up from sunlight, not sudden noises. I speak from 15 years of experience using these Flents Foam Ear Plugs and highly recommend them.

*Before starting the review let me say this, if foam earplugs don't work for you, then you are not putting them in correctly* Step #1: The adult ear NEEDS to be pulled UP and Back to straighten the ear canal. Just FYI, in children under 3 years of age you would pull the ear DOWN and BACK to straighten the ear canal (though I don't know if earplugs are even recommended for children that young). Step #2: Roll the foam earplug into a tight cylinder and insert deep into the straightened ear canal without stuffing. Step #3: Keep one finger lightly pressed on the exposed portion of the earplug while it expands, then release your ear. Step #4: Repeat process with the other ear. Step #5: Test hearing after insertion and prior to exposure to dangerously loud noises. Sounds should be very muffled with proper insertion (yes, even with cheap/low-quality foam earplugs). Review: I would estimate I've tried 5 or 6 different types of earplugs before these and these are honestly better than the previous foam earplugs in every aspect, other than price. That being said, the price is still reasonable and they can be reused a couple times depending on how clean you ears are lol Function: Foam earplugs are generally great for hearing protecting and these are no different. No pressure or awkward weight on the head like from the earmuff style hearing protection. These stand out from the competition by being noticeably quieter than any other I've tried. Most people are familiar with the orange foam earplugs, but these are softer foam and larger diameter. This allows them to compress more and expand more, which means they can be placed deeper in the ear canal and fit tighter to the ear canal without producing excessive pressure/discomfort. An important aspect of these is that they cut down on the noise level while allowing for some hearing. This sounds like a negative, but it almost never is. Realistically, at a shooting range you need to hear others when they speak loudly to maintain proper safety. When you're asleep, you still need to wake up to that dreaded alarm clock. I think you get the picture, but these make any normal extreme noise exposure safe and any annoying roommate noises disappear. Unless you work with jets, jackhammers, or regular/extended firearm use, these are more than sufficient. Fit: I started off by explaining proper insertion just because some people are confused on that aspect. If you have normal ears and any brand of foam earplugs, then you should get serious sound reduction with proper insertion. So it isn't about if these earplugs fit you, they will and so would the orange ones from Walmart. BUT these soft contoured earplugs do fit better and make the insertion process easier than anything else I've tried. They compress a lot with very little pressure and expand quite slowly. One tip with these is to roll the entire earplug into a cylinder, including the flared end. This ensures deep insertion and awesome hearing protection. Comfort: Ok so we are finally to an area to where these earplugs outmatch the cheap competitors completely. Some cheap foam earplugs are soft and comfortable for hours (even overnight occasionally), but some cheap foam earplugs are not very soft and expand quickly. These aren't really comfortable enough for extended wear in my opinion. These contoured foam earplugs are what I consider to be very soft. They are something like a large soft marshmallow in their density if that makes sense. They compress freely, but still expand back to their previous shape. They are the absolute perfect level of softness and they have never caused me any discomfort. Who Should Buy These? If you ever find foam earplugs uncomfortable, then these are for you. If you need a pair to sleep in, yep. Or if the cheap foam earplugs are letting in a little too much noise, these will cut the noise quite a bit. Also, if you are looking for true silence, then you need to check out the 3M Peltor X-Series Earmuffs (NRR 31dB). I wear those when I need to focus and don't need to hear anything at all. I wear the soft contoured foam earplugs in combination with these earmuffs sometimes and I honestly couldn't hear someone talking loudly directly at me. Wearing that combo will turn loud noises into barely discernible noises. I sometimes use that combo for study or meditation. I don't know if anyone else is just looking for absolute silence, but if so, I just saved you some research lol

I’ve been using ear plugs for 10+ years now. While these are my favorite, they still have areas of improvement. They’re easy to put in the ear and do work when properly placed. I like the green coloring to find easier at night. I don’t know if they are easy to clean because I just toss them. They aren’t too durable. They reduce the noise quite well. My issue is every order seems to be different. Some are extra firm and effective at blocking noise for multiple wears and some batches are very flimsy and you need to toss them after one single wear

My girl's dog always stay in her room and snores very loud. I got these on an impulse to see if it would help. I do think it does well in drowning out the noise and helps sleep better at night. However, it’s always difficult to clean ear plugs so I usually throw them away after a few wears. This isn’t an issue though because the container comes with many ear plugs.
