I recently purchased a mechanics creeper that you could sit on. It was built of 1 inch square metal tubing, and m8 sized stem bolts on the 2.5 inch casters that came with it. But when I sat on it it collapsed! I mean it really collapsed --and it even bent 3 of the 4 M8 sized caster stem bolts. And they were inside of the square metal tubing when the creeper collapsed. (and yes I am fat , but come on! In what world does one inch square metal tubing, fold spindle and mutilate like a wadded up gum, wrapper???) Anyway I am going to use these heavy duty 2 inch casters to make a heavy duty creeper-style cart that I can sit on without it collapsing. At least that is the plan. I evven bought some thicker walled square tubing this time around. These 2 inch GBL casters are very well made. fit and finish on all the metalwork is excellent. And they have the best braking system on each caster that I have ever seen on any caster of this size class. The brakes have a very positive lock, and an easy release. This turns out to be good for me, as I will probably be operating them with my fingers. The wheels are soft, kind of like a skate board wheel, so I can run this thing around my kitchen if I want, and not hurt any floors. They are very quiet too.. Each wheel bearing, has a plastic anti dust and hair cap on each side, to keep stuff from contaminating the ball bearings. The axle of each caster is a bolt! Yes! it is an actual; machine bolt, with a hex lock nut with a nylon insert, instead of those cheap rivet-axles that are in everyone else's casters. This implies to me that the casters may even be repairable. The stem bolt on each caster are metric M10's with 1.5mm pitch threads. The stem-bolt pivot bearing plate, is almost the same diameter as the wheel! I am sure this will provide the needed strength and support so that each caster can handle their rated load of 110lbs per caster. So far I am very happy with these casters and plan to get a couple more 'sets of 4', and I have not even built anything yet.

They seem sturdy and easy to install. Used them on my sit/stand desk, and they were working great at first. But less than 24 hours after installing, one of the casters won't freely swivel anymore, which makes moving the desk difficult (and defeats the purpose of why I got them). I can still force it to swivel the direction I need with my foot but not ideal. Quick Update: I investigated the issue with the one caster (after having to take everything off my sit-stand desk, flipping it over and having a look at the caster. Seems the issue is there is a disc with "teeth" inside, that is part of the locking mechanism that stops the caster from swiveling when locked. It looks like some of the teeth were cut (its metal) just a fraction of a mm different than others on the "disc" so when it's locked and catches the teeth, and then you try to unlock it, it does not disengage. I can still use it now that i have "unlocked" the caster, and just wont lock it anymore so it does not happen again. I also tested the other 3 and they don't have this issue and are fine (atleast for now)...
