So i bought this for my mom sicne she doenst like using youtubes to watch her favorite news channel or programs. After assembling it and connecting it to her tv via the coaxial cable connection, it automatically detect over 100+ channels. Due to her situation, i cant install the antenna outdoor, so i thought the connection and/or channels would be crap or lack if channels but i was wrong. Evne with antenna indoor, it was able to pici up over 100+ channels in 480p/720p resolution. To my mom that is good enough. She has been using it for over 2 weeks now and I checked back with her each week and she said so far she’s not seeing any problems with the receptions. Fyi, dont give bad reviews because you get bad reception. That isnt the fault of the antenna, it depends on YOUR location. When using antenna like these, its a hit or miss situation. For one thing, these type of antennas are 1000% better than those off-the-mill tiny antenna box or those ridiculous flat indoor plastic antennas that claim to give good reception and channels, those are questionables as I have used 2-3 of those, and they produce very bad results in reception and/or channels output. Hence i decided to go with this outdoor antenna style, and it is working out perfectly, even when used the antenna indoor.

I live in fairly new house with an HOA that does not allow roof mounted antennas. I cut the cable with this house, and got Roku sticks for some streaming along with a Tablo for local over the air channels. I tried two of the power assisted antennas, in the attic. One is the futuristic looking plastic one and the other was this one that looks like long microphone from a radio studio. Neither worked well bringing in the CBS and NBC stations ( I think walkie-talkies have more power than these two stations}, but FOX and ABC were fine. All the transmitters here are near each other and about twenty miles away. We had to get Peacock and Paramount to watch TV shows a day later. I thought maybe it was the trees near our house or the many hills and valleys between our house and the towers. Must not have been the problem, as this GE antenna brings in perfect pictures on all the stations from our attic.. Thanks!!

Over the past year or so, my 77 y.o. elderly mother has been starting to struggle with dementia. she has gotten to the point that she normally only watches 2-3 channels max. She was using directv and we were getting frustrated with it going out frequently. I have an outdoor HDTV antenna that i put up around 2018 or so, and haven't had any issues. I figured i would order this, along with a pre-amp because we are about 62 miles from the broadcast towers. (rural area). i put this in the attic, pointed towards the broadcast towers, hooked up the pre-amp and ran the cable. immediately, received around 20 channels! Channels even worked during rain/wind/ and cloud cover. the included instructions are horrible, so you will have to go over to youtube for videos to show you how to assemble this antenna. been using it for a couple weeks with no issues. main part is plastic, so i'm not very confident it would last very long outside, however the documentation seems to hint that it's been designed for outdoor mounting, i just personally wouldn't do it. you can get coax cable, and the pre-amp here on amazon. i used a RCA brand preamp, i have one personally and it works well with my channel master antenna. it's completely ridiculous to pay 100.00 a month and up for TV service. best thing about this, it's a one time expense (cost of antenna/cable/pre-amp) and your done! never have to pay for it again. cons are you lose your dvr and so forth, but the cost savings far outweigh the negatives. go ahead and order this one, it worked out great for us! reception will vary of course (depending on terrain and how high up the antenna is mounted). side note, i contacted our local cable tv provider for a quote for cable/DVR service for 2 rooms. i was quoted around $170.00 a month. current base package with directv (2 rooms and dvr) was costing $110.00 a month. pretty much a no-brainer here folks. update 3/27/25*** antenna continues to work well, i would highly suggest you mount this in attic inside, the body of antenna is plastic and the sun will destroy it probably in 3 years or so. granted there is some slight signal loss, but pre-amp seems to have taken care of that part my 77 year old mother with dementia enjoys OTA tv, and remains calm and content for the most part. small price to pay to have your loved one battling a terrible illness.

OK I'm going to gush so much you'll think this is paid. NOPE. And you can check my other reviews going back over 20 years. I'm legit. THIS THING IS STUNNING. I will eventually put it in my attic but for now I have it sitting on a chair next to the TV pointed in the rough direction of the TV towers in my area. (ground floor) It's a directional antenna. I picked up what wikipedia calls a 'low power station' that is exactly 90 degrees from the way the antenna was pointed. So the *worst* possible direction. (being behind the antenna is even better) The kicker is the tower was FORTY MILES AWAY. Low power, 90 degrees off axis, and 40 miles away! I have a lot of radio experience and antenna design is a hobby, I would never have believed this was possible. I was going to make my own antenna. I'm so glad I just threw a few bucks at this one. Amazing. I get over 75 channels total. (I'm in top 60 market) I have it paired with a Mediasonic HomeWorx (HW250STB) which is a ~ 30 buck tuner and DVR. I have not used the DVR feature and only had it hooked up for an hour so I can't review it yet. But for the price, I'm happy so far. I'll try to review it in a few days. I spent about 5 hours researching. If you're a tightwad but want something decent, this is looking like a killer combo. And at under 80 bucks, I'm slack jawed. I hope this helps someone and saves you some research.

A definite improvement over the antenna that I had next to the tv. Right now it's just sitting on the attic floor, but it does a great job.

I have ordered several different antennas in the last year. Those little stickup ones that are flat and go on your window or wall are absolutely useless unless you live under the local transmission tower. You have to leave it to GE to put together a high-quality product. This is a solid antenna that I installed on my roof (outside) and it discrete enough to not be a monstrosity on my roof. I used the website they suggest to get the exact heading to orient based on maximum tower transmission and used the compass on my phone to orient. Was very easy and picked up the maximum number of channels. I am about 30 km from the tower and I have to go through some trees, unfortunately. Given that, I am very impressed with the pickup and the quality of the image. I do not get the random signal drops. My only complaint is the installation instructions. I used the picture on the box to complement the instructions as they were absolutely terrible. However, it is such a simple build that anyone that has built an Ikea piece of furniture should be able to figure it out. Since the rest is so good, I still gave an overall rating of 5 stars.

AMAZON SENT ME AN UNBOXED/DAMAGED ORDER, TWICE!!!Reviewed in Australia on July 12, 2022

I'm very impressed with this television antenna for its size. I just left the auto-tune on my tv to do its thing and it even picks up a tower 30km away from me, flawlessly. It's easy to assemble, very compact and can be attached to any wall or caravan with ease. You get everything that you need to install, but read the instructions people as there's a lot of parts in that box. Fast & secure delivery 10/10 Cons... The birds like it better than the broken one I left above it :/
