I was kinda paranoid about replacing my garage door springs. You hear horror stories about injuries from doing this but looking to save some money I decided to do it anyway. Everything to do the job is included in the package save the hand tools nessisary. There are no instructions included but a quick search on youtube will yield several tutorials. Working alone & taking my time to make sure I did it correctly I had everything replaced in about 2hrs & the door works like new again.

They have been installed and functioning well for a couple weeks now. The instructions were of very little use. I strongly recommend finding a youtube video to learn how to install them if you are in need of help. More time is needed to see how durable they are but at the present they seem to be a good value.

The kit includes the springs, pulleys, cables and various bolts and parts for replacing a pair of garage door extension springs. The items in the kit seem to me to be of good quality. I didn't use every single small part in the kit because I re-used some of the parts from the original installation. But the kit included almost everything I needed to replace the old springs, pulleys and cables, including the small parts that I needed or that I thought should be replaced. The one exception, which may be unique to my garage: in my garage, the existing holes in the angle iron for the 2 stationery pulleys were somewhat too large for the bolts and nuts for the new stationery pulleys, so I had to scrounge around the workshop and find a pair of washers, 1" outside diameter, hole diameter 3/8" or 7/16", to help snug the new bolts against the slightly-too-big holes in the angle iron. Those 2 washer were the only additional parts I needed, and again the problem may be unique to my garage. I have a wooden panel single garage door (9'w x 7'h) which is a fairly heavy door. Two of the four pulleys and one of the two load-bearing cables looked okay, but I think it was smart to replace all the pulleys and cables at the same time that the springs were replaced. The springs, pulleys and cables are often under a lot of weight load tension, unless you have a very light garage door, or you leave your garage door open most of the time. My garage's original spring installation did not have a safety cable. This kit includes a pair of safety cables and installation parts for each cable, so that if either spring breaks while there is tension on it (usually when the garage door is closed) then the spring will not be able to fly through the air or fall on anyone or anything. The kit does not come with instructions. I used DDM's online instructions for Extension Spring Replacement on my smartphone. There are other instructions online but that was the one that worked best for me. Thanks to DDM Garage Doors, Inc. for good step by step instructions, including safety advisories.

I bought these to replace old spring set that had broken. I opted to use the 140lb vs the original 130lb springs so that it would be easier to open by hand if needed. They work great.

Product was great. No instructions were included. When I contacted seller for instructions as these were a bit different than the ancient ones I was replacing. Response was “if you don’t know what you are doing hire a professional”. Not helpful but I figured it out.

This was the perfect kit. Included everything to get my garage door functioning again. Both springs had broken and a roller was damaged. Replacing everything was the smart choice. Saved me at least 3 trips back and forth to the big box store.
