I love having this so I don’t have to buy bottles & add to plastic waste. Tastes great & easy to use

I was a bit hesitant to buy this product as I’m usually a Gatorade, zero fan, but I gave it a whirl, especially since I got tired of going to the store and bringing home all the plastic containers. I mixed up the first batch using an old Gatorade bottle That I had saved and it was way too sweet but eventually, I was able to find two in the recipe to using one tablespoon for 16 ounces of water and it tastes great not only does that mean it’s fewer calories and less sugar that I’m using per ounce but also the product will last longer. I got both punch and grape and they are both good and I keep a bottle of each in the fridge, ready to go.

A 28 ounce Powerade costs around $1.40. That's 5 cents per ounce. The G-2 powder (3 pack) costs $38.79 and it can make 18 gallons (128 ounce in a gallon X 18 gallons equalling 2304 ounces). That's about 1.68 cents per gallon of G-2. 5 divided by 1.68 gives you just you short of 3 times as many liquid for the same price, or 200% more.

I think I got lucky on the pricing of my order, but even at the regular price, it is a nice option to get a lot of G2 powder at a reasonable price. While the individual packets are more portable, I like this because of the ability to customize the amount of powder you're putting in your drink and it is less wasteful to the environment. It tastes good and I have not had any issues with clumping.

The relative value of this product has declined since February 2021. The price has increased 55% since then for the same product. The option to have the product shipped in non-gift Amazon packaging has been eliminated thus exposing the canisters to greater risk of damage. The product is hygroscopic (it readily absorbs moisture). A damaged canister is less likely to prevent moisture from causing the Gatorade G2 powder from caking or hardening. At least one of the three canisters in my recent 3-pack order arrived damaged. The rim of the first container was dented and the seal had been cracked enough to cause powder to cake the inside of the plastic lid. This likely would not have happened if this product had been shipped in a full box rather than in a half box. It should be noted that this product sometimes arrives via “last mile USPS” rather than directly via a non-USPS delivery vehicle. Unfortunately, it is not easy to determine which means of delivery one should expect other than same day deliveries are probably not via “last mile USPS”. Side note: the stainless short handle 1 tablespoon and 2 tablespoon/1 ounce package from Amazon is handy. Either one will fit in the canister (1 tablespoon if one makes a pint at a time, two tablespoons for one quart/liter quantities.)

Many years ago grape G2 Gatorade was my go-to drink when working out (or just when thirsty). I used to buy the liquid stuff and it was great. I recently got back on the Gatorade wagon and was disappointed to find that G2 was nearly impossible to find in stores. I found G-Zero wasn't the same and the regular stuff doesn't taste as good as the G2. Glad I found this stuff here. I actually like the powdered form because it allows me to decide how sweet (or unsweet) I want it. *edit in 2025* LOL @ the price. Look, I like the stuff, but I don't think I'm going above $40 for this. It was $39 just last month on my last order, but now it's like $52. One thing about these is that the containers are probably smaller than you might expect if you've bought the powdered Gatorade before. The container are smaller, but it seems accurate that you get a similar amount of finished product from it because it does take less powder to make the same amount liquid. So, that probably explains a few of the "it's too sweet" reviews. Just use less powder, folks. That's the benefit of getting it in this form. That being said, I'm not sure how I feel about them charging the same (actually more) for these smaller containers just because you can make more from it. Does it actually cost more to make the product? I'm thinking no. Ehnn, but whatever, it is what it is. It's still cheaper than getting the same amount of Gatorade from the individual G-Zero packs. G2 also tastes better than that stuff. I just wonder how long they will keep selling this here. It took about three weeks for mine to arrive. It concerns me that these won't be around for much longer.

No stores around my house carry the G2 anymore. Only G Zero which I am not a fan of. The cost of buying the bottles online is very high. The powder makes the G2 to a taste exactly like what comes in the bottles, and at 1/3 the cost. I saved up some 20 oz bottles and some 12 oz ones that I use to refill. I make a gallon at a time that makes almost a full 6 of the 20oz bottles. Plus the powder is alot easier to store.
