FINAL UPDATE 12/17/2024: All I have to say at this point, is if you take care of this scooter, it takes care of you. I learned how to get my hands dirty doing basic repairs, maintenance, etc. and this scooter keeps scooting on. The only thing I wish was better about this scooter is the battery. If the battery was longer lasting, this scooter would be an amazing competitor to commuter scooting. Also inclines really kill speed and eats up battery really fast. Personally I'm saving up for a fat tire e-bike with a better battery and faster speeds, hill climbing ability, etc. as I live in a place where fat tires thrive. Despite this scooter having a somewhat fat tire, it's not fat enough for the best traction. Hope my reviews and updates have informed you guys enough to decide whether or not this scooter is best for you. Flat tire/wiring experience update: It happens to the best of us. A small piece of glass penetrated my tire, into the inner tube and caused a flat. If there's one majorly bad thing with Gotrax, is a lack of footage covering basic repairs on a lot of their scooter models, so I had to learn how to take the rear wheel off myself to patch the inner tube. Taking the wheel off was a pretty straight forward process. Remove some screws, nuts, unplug power wire, etc. and the wheel comes off easily (you'll need an adjustable or socket wrench about 18mm, an Allen wrench set, and screw driver) . The tire however was a nightmare to take off as it was really tough. Fast forward after I patch the tube and assemble the wheel back, I try to ride but the power wire yanked and plugged out a yellow, green and blue cord inside the battery storage. This caused the wheels to stop responding, but the solution was to simply open the battery storage underneath the scooter, plug the colored cords into the matching slot, and viola the scooter is fixed. The whole experience was extremely frustrating because of the lack of resources to assist in basic repairs, but it is pretty simple once you know what you're doing. 2 month update: I ride this thing 8 miles total per day, 5 days a week. I’ve racked up approximately 320 miles total so far, and it’s still holding up well. The only recurring issue is the throttle. It seems while I’m riding in neighborhoods where I have to stop at stop signs often, the throttle will have an issue that slows down the scooter’s speed. This is typically an easy fix if you stop for a few seconds and restart the scooter. But to avoid this issue I’ve adapted my riding style in neighborhoods by switching from 20mph mode to 15, which seems to have mostly fixed the issue. Overall, after two months and hundreds of miles, I’d say this is a great buy for casual riding. Even on my bad days, it’s always fun riding on the scooter and even something to look forward to. Great casual scooter. Original review: Let me start off by saying that I’m 6’2 and about 250-260 pounds give or take. This scooter holds me up quite well, much better than I expected. My size only becomes an issue going up inclines. I can tolerate the speed drop off from light to moderate inclines, otherwise I just hop off and walk up until the roads are more leveled. On flat roads I can go up to 20 mph. Battery life seems to be doing great so far, but I’ve only ridden about 14 miles total so far. I’ll have to update later on as the battery ages, but it charges reasonably quick. The scooter performs smoothly, and quietly, just try to avoid pot holes and large cracks in the street. Also try to avoid any sharp objects that may be on the road. If anybody is wondering how it rides in the rain, well I can say it holds up much better than expected. The wheels keep their traction very well and I didn’t experience any slipping or sliding, but try to avoid if possible. I’d say so far, this scooter has exceeded my expectations for commuting to work. Eventually I’ll take it out for grocery trips when I get good locks. I’ve read that u-locks along with thick chain locks from kryptonite brand is the way to go. The more locks you put on this thing, the better. Get sensor alarms too. Get anything that deters and prevents theft. I’m personally gonna get a few different chains and u-locks, disc locks, etc. You can never be too safe. For only 500 smackers, this has shown to have great bang for your buck as far as commuting in a city goes. My destinations are never too far to worry about battery life. When I ride it to work, I bring it inside my post and top off the charge to prepare it for the next ride. Do not let the battery fully die, you’ll wanna charge it while it’s at least at one bar life left. One accessory I recommend getting is a bicycle turn signal, it feels sketch trying to hand-signal and only having one hand on the handlebars. Oh and the rear basket is a neat addition, although I do want something slightly bigger. Anyways, as far as my impressions currently stand I’d recommend this to anybody in a city. I was exclusively walking and bussing before I got this scooter, so it feels nice not having to get on my feet every day for a simple commute to work or the grocery store.

I’ve been using this scooter for a while now, and it’s made getting around so much easier. I use it to go to the store, visit friends nearby, or just ride for fun. The seat is comfortable, and I could adjust it to the right height for me. The basket is very useful for carrying things like groceries or my bag, which makes short trips really convenient. It rides smoothly, even over small bumps, and the speed is just right—not too fast, not too slow. The battery lasts long enough for me to use it for a few days before charging. What I Like: 1. The seat is comfortable and adjustable. 2. The basket is strong and can hold a lot of stuff. 3. It’s simple to control and easy to get the hang of. A Nice Surprise: It doesn’t take up much space, so I can keep it in my apartment without any trouble. Final Thoughts: This scooter is great if you’re looking for an easy way to get around for short trips. It’s reliable, easy to use, and very handy for daily errands. I’m really happy with it!

I absolutely love my Gotrax electric scooter! The range is perfect—I can easily get 20+ miles on a single charge, and it’s quick too, hitting up to 20 mph without a problem. The 500W motor gives it plenty of power, even on slight hills, and the 14” tires make the ride smooth and stable. The wider deck and adjustable seat make it super comfortable, especially for longer rides, and the carry basket is a great touch for errands. It’s the perfect mix of fun, practicality, and convenience! Highly recommend!

When I ride my Flex around town, I always turn heads and get many questions like “Where did you get that from?” and “How much did that cost?” They can’t believe it when I tell them how very affordable it is, how fast it goes, and how far it will take me between charges. The next thing they usually say is “I’m going to look into that!” I have really enjoyed the practicality of the Flex, the ease of use, and the ability to either load it into the trunk of a car or throw it up on the public bus bicycle rack. The size of the tires means this is an option for me when I want to cheaply go a longer distance. Speaking of tire size, the wheels make for a smooth and somewhat comfortable ride. In the city bike lanes, this scooter is a dream. On the bumpy sidewalks, not so much. But the seat and shocks do a decent job of reducing as much discomfort as possible. I recommend tightening every single nut and bolt on the scooter BEFORE you start using it. Lackluster quality and attention to detail means you will be losing parts left and right if you omit this step. And since customer service is downright ridiculous, and the warranty, I discovered through experience, doesn’t cover what they deem “accessories,” and I deem “what I paid for,” then save yourself the headache, and thoroughly put the scooter through the paces before the 30-day return period ends (if you purchased from Amazon). Returning through them is a much, much easier and sanity preserving than dealing with Gotrax. All-in-all, the scooter is perfect for my needs, and the price point is very nice. I would recommend it, keeping those things I mentioned in mind. Happy scooting!

I received my scooter yesterday, ON TIME and in PERFECT condition. Unpacking was easy and ASSEMBLY was simple and took only a few moments: lift and lock the stem, screw down the handlebars, insert the seat, adjust and lock, and screw down the basket. Tools were included and I'm quite sure 99% of buyers can do it all themselves. The scooter is LIGHTER than I expected and the clever weight distribution and high floorboard clearance makes it easy to handle. CHARGING is a bit slow ... but they don't claim otherwise. Build QUALITY is top notch - I am so IMPRESSED! Everything is sturdy and secure and there is no wiggle in the stem. Tires are nice enough and arrived inflated and ready to go. Fenders are nice and secure - no rattling or noise. Kickstand is thick and robust and holds it up nicely without worries. The basket is high quality, spacious and handy. The screen is functional and has everything you really need: speedometer, odometer, voltage, gear settings and battery bar. Took it out for a ride today and was super happy! The SUSPENSION systems are excellent! 2 in front, 2 in back, there are springs under the plushy, wide seat and a seat post with suspension as well - WOW! Feels like you are floating over even the worst road conditions! Fantastic. ACCELERATION is gradual and smooth. If you want something to do burnouts on, this is not it - but for me this is perfect. A smooth and silent ride. There is also a unique acceleration guard: If you stop at a red light (for example) the scooter automatically switches to 0 gear after a short wait, so you cannot accidentally 'take off'... you have to tap the brakes to put it in 'drive' again. I think this is a brilliant addition to PEV's which I have not seen before. (And I have owned a bunch of 'em) Way to go GoTrax! SPEED is good and as claimed. TAIL LIGHT/BRAKE LIGHT is large, bright and functional. HEADLIGHT angle is adjustable but the amount of light thrown is minimal and too focused. If there was one thing I would like to see improvement on it would be a better headlight. All in all my first impressions have been very positive. It's better than I expected and that's saying something because I have pretty high standards and expectations. :) I will update again after some more thorough testing~

Absolutely the best, just need a better light, a bigger basket and it would be the best on the market period, don't know why there isn't mor of this design being promoted everywhere I ride this EVEERYDAY to and from work over 8km, rain or shine, day and night, and having used a few of their other standing scooters, this is by far the best one I've had. Good speed + acceleration, good weight, front and back lights, key start, the sealed breaks so I don't have to clean the all the time, good sized tires, and SHOCKS yes so, many very great shocks front, back, hell the seat has one too, not having to carry my lunch, groceries and things on my back Had a really nasty crash with a fallen tree branch at 40kph in the dark, and I can 100% say this scooter came out of in 99% better than I did, only a little scuff to the top of the handle screen meanwhile I'm in the hospital for 12+ hours, so well-built is an understatement Maintenance is a breeze, mostly just wiping off road grit and pumping up the tires once a month Alot of people seem to think they should be able to ride any scooter, not just this one up ANY hill like a car, but they can't and this one's no exception, though I've easily made it up hills beyond the standard 15 grade they all scooters suggest on this with very little slow down but you're not going racing up the really big ones that even cars can be heard chunking on to go up, so plan your path accordingly Battery and distance is great, I used to use nearly all of it in one trip on previous scooters, with this beast my battery meter doesn't even drop one bar in a full trip to and from work, which is great since I forget to plug it in often lol, I do wish the plug in for the batter wasn't on the bottom though, while not bad or anything it just isn't as convenient as an older guy like me would like (knees are creaky lol) 100% Would buy again, and again, love it

I bought this being not sure what to expect. With reviews being all over the map, it seemed most bad experiences had to do with delivery, rather than the scooter itself. I'm adventurous so ordered one when one came available. I have a bad back, so this is my fourth try at a bike/scooter in the last five years. With the others I immediately had issues and returned them (Amazon & Costco). This one looked quite a bit different with the larger seat and suspension in both the seat and the frame. Sure enough, in five weeks I've had no issue and enjoy being able to get back out for some fresh air, though I would prefer the exercise of pedaling. But, I do 'paddle' along enough that I do get some exercise. Now the puzzling part. On my scooter the key, throttle and the bell and rear brake are on the left side of the handle bar, the horn and front brake on the right. This seems intuitively backwards and backward to anything else I've ever ridden. It also appear backwards to their pictures on the website and in the manual. It's not something I did as the handle bars and simply unfold and lock. I couldn't mount them backwards. Besides, if it were turned around the brakes would be under and have to be pulled by the thumb. It seems the scooter was deliberately assembled this way. European/British model? I've gotten used to it, but it is dangerous as anybody else jumping on it expects it to be the other way around. The bell also doesn't work out of the box. Edit: I notice another review shows the controls backwards as well. Gotrax does tell me this is not their proper orientation. Fixing was simple though. Took the two screws out that hold the handlebar in place and turned the bar around. Made sure I turned it so there was no binding or twists in the cables and fastened back down. I watched an unboxing review and it mentioned the handlebar 'needs to be assembled', but the manual does not mention that and mine was fully attached and tight, just backward. The manual does mention to make sure those two bolts are tight. Assembly workers must be working too fast.

I recently purchased the Gotrax Flex Scooter for my daily commute, and I'm extremely satisfied with its performance. The scooter is lightweight yet sturdy, making it easy to maneuver through crowded city streets. The foldable design is convenient for carrying onto public transportation or storing in tight spaces. The battery life is impressive, allowing me to travel several miles on a single charge. The braking system is responsive and reliable, giving me peace of mind while riding in traffic. Overall, I highly recommend the Gotrax Flex Scooter to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable mode of urban transportation. It's a fantastic value for the price and has made my daily commute much more enjoyable.

Flex Ultra 500w-750 peak version review. So before I go into the negative points of the scooter I will say that the body of this scooter is solid, and the back spring shocks made this a smooth ride. Now onto the negative aspects of this scooter. 1. The most important one is the super slow acceleration. At a stop sign crossing into oncoming traffic this was so slow from being stopped that a care 3/4 a block away going the speed limit almost hit me by the time I crossed. Customer services failed to address this in their response, so I assume this is just how the scooter performs. My last scooter has the same power rating and motor and never had this issue. I do believe that their claims of this being a 500w 750 peak motor is false. 2. Speed and hilly climb issues. I don’t need to go super fast but expect what i buy to meet their own claims. This scooter could not reach over 18mph and any pot hole or give to the throttle and it would drop down to 14-16mph. On a small one block hill the scooter dropped to 4mph half way up where I had to stop and push it up the hill. Customer services response was that the hill cant be more than 10-12 degrees incline yet my previous scooter has no issues on hills steeper than this. I am also only 165 lbs which is 100lbs less than the weight limit for the scooter. I would never want to use this to put groceries in the basket. My old scooter was heavier than this one so that is also not an issue. 3. Stem fold inconsistency. In the stock photos and review videos the stem folds straight back but I found one photo of the handle bending like this. It is welded and the top where the handle bars mount is welded. You can only roll the handle bars. You cannot turn them. Customer services responded with adjusting the roll which wouldn’t do anything to fix the issue, which means they didn’t look at the photos I sent. With the scooter folding like this, it was impossible to carry or lift it properly because it swings the tire out which is not safe. 4. Customer service- This is obviously someone who doesn’t know scooters and is just sending out cannon responses from a book that best matches an issue. This is typical for most companies but extremely unhelpful and a huge time waister. I am not new to bikes or scooters, and Gotrex should at least give some mechanical training to their customer service team. Conclusion: If you only had straight ground, not hills, Weight 100lbs soaking wet, and no traffic this scooter could work for you. It’s really sad because the body of this sit down scooter is probably one of the best designs I have seen but the power is not there and not worth buying even at this low price point.
