I purchased this as a first scooter along with another one for gf. We tried both of them, and I think I prefer this one! The antitheft features make this one stand out....although do double up with a secondary heavy duty lock. Needing to enter code to use is honestly a fantastic feature tho. I don't have a ton to compare it to, but so far I've just been zipping around New York City. There are definitely faster scooters, but this one is fairly fast. If this would have been a main source of transportation I might look at the higher end models, but for 95% of people that are using this recreationally or scootering to the subway, this is an incredible value. It is really, really fun. It has a solid battery life, seems strong, and get me where I need to go. At this price point I'm super happy. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a get-around scooter look into this. It feels easy to ride, isn't overly heavy (a lot easier to carry than a bike!) and feels high quality. Highly recommend!

The Gotrax G4 electric scooter is an excellent choice for urban commuters, especially for those in New York City. With its UL 2272 certification, it complies with the city's regulations, allowing users to bring it into buildings without concerns about safety or compliance—a crucial feature in a city where such certifications are taken seriously. Pros: UL 2272 certification ensures safety and NYC compliance. Long range and decent top speed for urban commutes. Sturdy design with good ride quality on rough roads. Convenient security features. Cons: Limited off-road capability due to its urban-focused design. Verdict: The Gotrax G4 strikes a great balance between performance, safety, and convenience, making it a standout choice for NYC commuters. Its UL 2272 certification is a game-changer for entering buildings, and its reliable features ensure you’ll enjoy a safe, efficient ride. Whether you're zipping through Manhattan, the G4 has you covered.

I like the power of this scooter and having a 500 watt motor is an advantage over the lower wattage ones. This scooter runs smooth and it feels good under my feet even on some slightly uneven and rough surfaces but I have not taken it off road and don't really fell like I need to do anyway.Feels and looks very well built. I am sure the more powerful models are good but I find this to be more than adequate. It was quite easy and simple to assemble I appreciate the slightly larger size of this scooter esp. compared to some others but still find it to be quick and nimble to ride. The tires have a substantial width which I believe adds to the stability and overall feel of this scooter. It has good acceleration but still easy to control making it for me very enjoyable to ride. It's very maneuverable and also gets to top speed quickly. The ride is pretty quiet so a real plus for me. It's also quite convenient to be able to put the handle down so I can carry it when I need to. Wasn't difficult to pick up and put in the trunk of my car when I need to. That way can I take this scooter along to use elsewhere having easy access and/or can store it when necessary. I rode it for quite some time and the battery seemed to hold up really well. With a 25 mile range should allow me to go any where I need to around town. The brake is good which I feel is important and allows me to feel confident with my safety.. Interestingly enough I spoke with some people I me out riding that sid they thought this scooter looks really nice. I like the idea of buying from a longstanding company with a good reputation. Overall this is a really nice scooter and I am having a lot of fun riding it besides it being so convenient to get around with little hassle.

I bought this Gotrax scooter for my 15 yr son as his birthday present thru Amazon with the understanding that there's a 2 yr warranty..... after a couple of months of use the E4 error starts showing in the display... immediately we took the scooter to an local authorized Gotrax dealer with 18 yrs of experience, the dealer very honestly says... "the problem is the display and Gotrax has no availability of that part, you should contact Gotrax to ask for an exchange or send you an replacement part".... this is when the nightmare begins: 1st) You need to understand that If you buy a Gotrax scooter from Amazon you are not going to receive the Customer Service from the US, they will connect you to an office located God knows where that they only respond to your emails during midnight and only once a day. 2nd) after contacting them they diagnosed the problem saying that the problem was not the display... they stated that the problem was the front wheel (I don't understand how come a 18 yr experienced dealer was wrong in the first place)..... they sent the wheel and arrived arrived 1 week later... by the way the tire doesn't hold the air... I said that not a big problem... the big issue is the E4 error displayed. 3rd) I installed the wheel... didn't solve the problem... asked them again what was wrong, a day after they say: "have you connected the cables correctly?"... OMG, a mechanical engineer asked if I had connected the cables correctly....a day after I responded yes!.... a day after that they responded "we will send you the generator adaptor cable and controller to solve the problem".... 3 days just to confirm that you have installed the cables correctly! this is the type of customer service you will be receiving! 4th) After a week I received a brushless controller.....without instructions, a brushless control with four cables of the same color and shape.... the controller received was different from the one that was installed in the scooter.... OMG!.... I asked, what is this? and how you want me to change this? ... a day after they responded.." I sent you two motor adapter cable..... send me pictures of what you received" 5th) I exploded.... I asked them for a refund or exchange... they responded: " Beyond Amazon's exchange period, we can only provide you with warranty by reissuing accessories."..... what? !!!! I'm stuck with a trash $1,000 scooter... that nobody in Gotrax knows what is wrong with it and wasting my time replacing parts that are not solving the problem..... My honest recommendation: please don't buy Gotrax!!! and if you are convinced you want to buy a Gotrax scooter.....Do not buy it thru Amazon!!!!!!

When I ordered the scooter, I was initially expecting to be disappointed. I felt that by opting to buy Gotrax over other brands like Apollo, that I should expect less of this scooter. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The scooter turned out to be much bigger than expected! Dwarfing even my friend's apollo scooter. The gmax ultra looks beastly, and it performs just as well. The ride is super smooth, thanks in part to the large air-filled wheels. I was also greatly surprised by the number of features such as the attached lock, entry code, and 20mph speed. By far the greatest asset i've seen is the 45 mile range. I've been riding this thing around town and have not managed to drain the battery dead yet. Indeed, this scooter has significantly reduced my commuting time, and has opened many doors for me. Overall, fantastic device if you are looking for reliable transportation around the city, or to ride around paths for enjoyment. That being said, the gmax ultra is not suited for any off-roading. Dirt and pebble roads are a no-go for me, and even some decrepit sidewalks will make you feel jitter.

I'm extremely happy with this scooter overall, it's excellent range and comfort makes it great for commuting. It was simple to use, quick to assemble (just 4 screws) and feels very well constructed. My main priority with these electric scooters is safety, and the durable construction, responsive controls, strong brakes, and stable ride thanks to the air-filled tires definitely gave me confidence on the road. Not to mention, it's also virtually silent! In terms of security, the pin feature and built-in lock was definitely neat and good for quick stops, but I would still use something more robust for longer duration stops for such an expensive piece of equipment. Do note that this is a quite heavy scooter (36b lbs) so you probably won't be able to carry it around everywhere, but that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make for such a comfortable ride and long range. Overall, extremely happy with this purchase, it's exactly what I was looking for.

Ok , bought one last year , thr computer fried on it and it caused me to wipe put, they sent me a new one to replace once they received the old one and I was happy , I got it out of the box and the handle bars were crooked and it literally can't be straightened but I said I'll still use it and see what happens , well 2 weeks later boom another fried computer , its was constantly turning off and on and the alarm would go on and off so I sent it back as well and luckily I got a refund. I WONT WASTE my money on one of these and I don't think anyone should.

I bought it last year still using it and the little issue that I faced the Console was not working and I immediately contacted to the seller and customer service and they found it out on time and sent me another Console with no expense, even my warranty was expired. So I recommend for everyone if want to buy scooter perfect product best seller and perfect customer service 👌

Bought a few months ago. The battery life is quite strong. Full charge takes 6 hours and depending on usage, could last for days. Perfect for commuting faster, though a bit heavy to carry. Can get inside the bus if folded. Head turner, everybody wants to know how it works, battery life, the range, etc… Lots of conversation started by strangers when I ride through the city. The bell’s handle broke (got entangled with my earphones), but that’s my mistake, even though it wouldn’t have broken if it was stronger enough. Handlebar becomes shaky after a few weeks (mostly because it is only attached through one single joint to the main body, and takes the most pressure). Rides very smoothly on city roads, but not too good of an experience on the sidewalk or dirt road. Will keep this post updated after a few more months.
