I was not expecting much in the way of quality when I ordered the Greenworks 12 Amp 18" Corded Electric Lawn Mower from Amazon. In the past I would have gone to Sears, Target, Lowes or Home Depot for a new lawnmower. But most of the options at those establishments were much more expensive battery powered electric lawnmowers, and I was not interested in the limited power, limited battery life and expense of replacement rechargeable batteries associated with such mowers. I already had the 100 ft. high-gauge power cord used with my previous electric lawnmower (which recently broke after 25 years of use), so the only expense for a new corded lawnmower would by the mower itself. After receiving the Greenworks Corded Electric Lawn Mower from Amazon, I was immediately impressed by how well-built it was with a heavy-gauge metal main housing and metal handle assembly. Even the plastic parts are solidly made. The easy to follow assembly instructions made short work of putting the handle together and I was soon ready to cut my lawn (which was somewhat overgrown in areas that I couldn't mow after my previous electric mower broke down). The Greenworks 18" Corded Electric Lawn Mower easily mowed down even the tallest grass on my lawn, cleanly cutting through the grass without bogging down at any time. My use of the mower showed it to be light-weight, sturdy and powerful -- a real steal for the price! For the medium-sized lawns of suburban homes, this corded electric mower is the perfect solution to keeping your grass cut and your lawn in good shape! Very cost-effective compared to battery-powered electric mowers, and it never runs out of power! Look for it on sale on Amazon for @ $150.

Wow! I was quite surprised by how well this lawn mower cut my yard. It is awesome. I hope it lasts a while. It was extremely easy to assemble - 5 minutes to take out the box and put to use. This lawn mower is so light that it felt like I was vacuuming my carpet. It maneuvered and cut very well on corners, edges, and on inclines. It is so light that I could cut using one hand, including mowing backwards up a hill and turning- again, with just one hand. This Greenworks surprisingly had more power than my previous Toro lawn mower that I used for the past 16 years. It tore through areas of weedy grass that was higher than 6 inches much easier than my Toro would have. It easily completely mulched those high areas with just one pass, whereas, I would have had to do 2 -3 passes in the past. Riding over debris on the ground that would clank around under my Toro did not have such an effect at all on the Greenworks. It is also far quieter than my gas lawn mower. I made sure to get a $50 100 ft. 12/3 extension cord, so the cord did not get hot at all while in use. I think a 14 gauge cord is really the lowest acceptable rating that should be used that can handle the amps at 100 ft. A few years ago, I bought a reel mower, but I wish I had bought this one instead. The reel mower requires some work to get the blades sharpened correctly. Unlike some other electric mowers, I love the fact that the casing on this is solid metal. I can't say enough good things about this.

I was SO sick and tired of undependable "lawncare services" and teens who were eager to mow the lawn at $40 a trip - then either failed to show up repeatedly or decided they'd had enough of physical labor and just quit that I decided to give it another try myself. I have a bum shoulder and so the frustrating pulling for pull-start mowers and the less-than-dependable push button starts only led to headaches, an unmowed lawn and a sorer shoulder. Enter this fantastic little machine. I read the reviews, tried to filter out the paid/fake ones and decided to take the plunge. I have a small, shady, patchy front yard but a large, grassy backyard so any mower needs to be able to deal with both. I got the box in two days, tugged it into the house and out to the back and sat down to assemble it. It comes pretty much already assembled and ready to go but you do need to screw the top part of the handle on. On mine, the right side of the handle doesn't align flush with the inside bracket and so the nut doesn't screw on as tightly as I'd like. Just need to get an actual nut vs. the plastic-covered one and that will be fixed. I was a bit trepidatious about the cord bit, I'm not the most coordinated of lawn jockeys and I was afraid I'd electrocute myself on the first trip. I watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to use this safely, plugged in the bright orange outdoor extension cord and tentatively, yet excitedly, started her up. She dove right in and we took off like we were the chief groomers of the front 9 at Augusta National! Now, a word of caution, she won't deal with really heavy brush (old dead flowers, vines, etc.) but the grass was heavy and on the moist side, not wet but it's dark green and lush. She went through it like a champ and - one of the best parts - none of that dying for no reason nonsense when the going gets tough and the grass gets thick. Do clean out the undercarriage when you finish and I would recommend using plastic, either the Fiskars garden tool that another person recommended or a plastic putty knife. Also, I probably wouldn't let a child or a young person mow with this simply because if you are mowing in strips, it could be easy to forget that the power cord can loop or bunch up in back of you. A bonus is that I don't have to deal with gas, oil, etc. sitting around in the garage now. Definitely takes an adjustment but really worth it for smaller to mid-sized lawns.

We bought this mower mid summer and very pleased so far. It's quiet, durable, light weight and does the job. Batteries seem to last about 40 - 45 minutes. Not quite long enough for our large yard so we just do it in two cuts. Next year will likely pick up some extra batteries when on sale.

I received this lawn mower yesterday and charged the batteries for long enough to give it a try, and it performed very well. It is quite light, and is easy to push around or lift. It also cuts very well, although I haven't yet tried it in deep grass. I only had two issues with this purchase. One with the shipper and one with foldability of the handles. The first shipper marked it as undeliverable and cancelled my order. So I reordered it (3 days after the first time I ordered it) and found that the price had increased by $20. The second time, the shipper noted three days in a row that it could not be delivered and finally delivered it on the fourth day. This is not the type of service that I have usually received from Amazon. The second issue is more of an observation. The handle is not readily foldable. It must be taken apart in order to store the lawn mower upright. This is fine for say, end of season storing, but is inconvenient if someone wants to store the lawn mower upright every time they use it.

Collecting cut grass scraps is a problem encountered during use! I have inquired with the manufacturer but have not been able to provide a corresponding solution to the problem. I hope to receive relevant professional support here.
