I had a 65 inch Samsung QLED but it was super difficult to see anything on the screen during the daytime. My living room has a lot of windows in it. So I took a chance and switched to this one and it's night and day difference. Not only is the picture significantly brighter, the colors are also more vivid without becoming oversaturated like many tv's would do. And it's not just that its brightness setting goes higher, the brightness also looks natural as well, never looking artificial on the picture. The colors are great, the picture is stunning, and the blacks are deep black, adding an amazing depth to the picture. I've tried every streaming service, my PS5, and my 4k UHD disks and they all look amazing. I also love how most of the reflections from my windows that made my samsung tv are no problem for this TV. The anti glare screen is INCREDIBLE. I don't know how they incorporated that without sacrificing picture quality. THINGS I DON'T LIKE: - Random picture modes: The picture modes are randomly generated by the tv and you have no control over it. I tried various movies on Disney + and it kept giving me different picture mode options. Sometimes it was various flavors of HDR + theater mode. Sometimes it was IMAX/Filmmaker modes. Sometimes it was Dolby modes. I have no clue how it decides which ones to give you or not give you, but I found it very confusing when first testing out the TV and I still find it very confusing. Fortunately I realized once you change the settings of a specific mode, it will 'save' those settings somehow and use them anytime it randomly switches to that mode in the future. But regardless, I never know which options I'm going to get until I push play on something. - The Google Interface: I'm not a big fan of it. I don't like that you NEED a google account to operate the TV and that it uses only google apps. I thought the google aspect was going to be optional, but it's not. - Bad App Integration: The apps aren't the greatest. Fandango At Home constantly crashes or freezes without warning and sometimes when it opens it's just a blue screen. And HBO Max has muddled audio, so I've had to resort to watching Max through my Roku since for some reason the audios perfectly fine on the Roku. It's getting to the point to where I might just use my Roku for all the apps since this TV seems to have issues with all of them in some form or fashion. - Settings Menus: On the Samsung TV there was a quick option to change the 'mode' that the soundbar was in, but on here that's nowhere to be found. So you have to use the separate soundbar remote control or phone app to do it which is annoying to me too. There aren't many sound options. - Weight: This TV is HEAVY! The base alone that it sits on is very heavy and I needed to wait for my wife to come home to help me get it up on the stand. But she had trouble picking up her end. I wish they sold a version that didn't have all the unnecessary atmos speakers added to it, maybe it'll be a bit lighter. All-in-all it's easily the greatest picture I've seen in a television ever. I hope I don't run into any of the issues I've read about from other models. If it stays strong then I don't anticipate ever needed to get another TV again since there are so many devices out there like the Roku and PS5 that will allow me to still watch what I wanna watch on this TV without issue.

This TV arrived quickly via UPS in good condition. It’s boxer in the rear for the sound system speakers and looks the same in the front with the Hisense logo centered at the bottom this time around. The inputs are recessed from the outer edge, making it difficult to get to them after wall mounting. However, none are facing back this time around. All are facing toward the outer edge. Out of the box, there was the typical Google TV setup followed by one system update (P0205 to P0415) and 2 remote updates. There are only 3 HDMI inputs this time around, but they are ALL 4K/165Hz though. It seems to be running Android 14 (from 12) with a much later build and security patch level. Google TV seems to be about the same or slightly snapper than the U8N. Storage still 20GB (minus system use, formatting, etc.) Within all the TV menus, there are additional settings added, some moved and others re-arranged compared to the U8N. One I like is a speed test within the Network & Internet settings for example. There is a Quick Tab Tools option on the bottom menu that I think is new, etc. With this TV, I’m just connecting gaming consoles via HDMI (Xbox, PlayStation & Switch 2 one day) and an HDTV antenna for one local channel for storm updates. I’m NOT using WIFI, eARC, PC connection, Fire TV Cube, Apple TV, etc. I hope to try the USB-C input on the side at some point as a display input. First impressions of image quality: little to no vignetting in the corners (way less than the U8N); less Blooming thanks to the additional zones and tech; SDR and all HDR looked great to me with little to no setting changes. Gradients look fine for an 8-Bit FRC display. Motion smoothing is great, but I still personally prefer it off. Motion overall seems on par with the U8N: again, with no setting changes. As such, I must note that there are more image settings (especially Intelligent and AI) than the U8N. Console gaming wise, everything is great in every mode (all Xbox and PlayStation resolutions, refresh rates, etc. are fully supported). I still really like the Game Bar just like U8N. This time around there are themes that can be set to automatically change for PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. The 4.1.2 sound is OK. I don’t use soundbars, but I think anyone who does will continue to do so with the TV – or use a surround sound system. I’m still experimenting with the sound settings. I do use the room acoustics setting like on the U8N by using the remote’s mic. More sound options than the U8N and certainly a different sound right out of the box.

As a user upgrading to the Hisense 55" U8 Series Min-LED TV (2025 model), the first things that stood out were the brightness and contrast. The Mini-LED Pro tech really delivers on peak brightness, and the local dimming helps create more depth in darker scenes. The QLED color reproduction is also impressive, offering vibrant and sharp visuals across different types of content. Gaming performance is another highlight. The native 165Hz panel with VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and low latency features make it a solid choice for fast-paced gaming. The Game Mode Ultra, along with the on-screen Game Bar, adds convenience for gamers who like to tweak settings quickly. The built-in 4.1.2 surround sound system delivers good immersion for movies and sports, with clear separation and depth in the audio, especially the up-firing speakers for overhead effects. Dolby Vision IQ and Atmos support make a noticeable difference in both visuals and audio for supported content. The Hi-View AI Engine seems to work well for automatic picture and sound tuning, though at times the enhancements can feel a bit too aggressive depending on the content. Fortunately, this can be adjusted in the settings. Google TV integration is smooth and provides a lot of streaming options, though the initial setup process could be a bit more intuitive for new users. The Anti-Reflection Pro coating helps reduce glare, but some reflections are still visible in very bright rooms. Overall, the TV packs a lot of premium features and performs well in both entertainment and gaming scenarios. A few UI refinements and more fine-tuning options for AI enhancements would make the experience even better.
