First, this does what any good circular polarized is supposed to do. But there are a couple additional benefits--- A- most CPL's block 2 to 2-1/2 stops to light but this one passes 2/3 stop more according to Hoya (maybe even a full stop per the metering on my camera. This is not trivial. B- the HD3 coating is advertized to be very tough and to resist fingerprints and dust. To my surprise I have found this claim to be true. It actually take some effort to leave a fingerprint and dust tends to simply fall off.

Does not block as much light as most polarizers but appears to work as well. Used extensively on trip on Danube and also used it some on a bus to reduce reflections in the window as we traveled. I have used polarizers for over 50 years and it works great. I was difficult to separate from the 67-82mm step-up adapter. I am replacing the adapters I use and will carry a lens wrench in the future. This is a rather common problem in my experience.

Found large swaths of dust and gunk in the corners/crevaces of this polarizer. No matter how many sensor swabs and microfiber cloths I used, they were very hard to clean. Not sure why or how this happened, but my next purchase will probably be from Bhphoto. The filter itself is great, so I still rated this 4 stars.

Simply the best filter. No colorshift. No flares. Really good coating, no traces on it. Only minus is a price.

This is the finest polarizer I've ever used, the only flaw is the high price oh, but it's truly worth it. The reduced light loss alone is worth the price of entry but oil and water resistant coating seals the deal.

There seems to be a good distribution of the polarized area in skies, so that there are no spots that are much darker than the rest of the image. And, I can now put a lens cap over the end of the lens, even when the polarizer is in place. Couldn't do that with less expensive polarizers attached.

First, I ordered the wrong diameter filter; my mistake. It was very easy to return that filter and to get a refund. I immediately ordered the right filter from the same place. That is excellent service. The filter does exactly what I expected. Excellent product.

This is the second time purchasing this filter and I’ve been very satisfied both times.
