I followed what they said and threw these in water, squeezed them dry, then dried them in the dryer. you can see the difference. The picture shows both the expanded and the shipped size. none of the ones i got had any deformities. Used these in both a computer room, and a basement door to lower server noise. in both cases works great.

Dont believe that the 3m stickers will hold it to the wall, maaaaybe command strips would work, but you’ll need al least three to anchor the corners and thats a waste. If you dont have to worry about holes in the wall just go to Home Depot and get a pack of small black nails, they’re discreet and get the job done beautifully for $3

I’ll start my review with a little trick that I tried on a whim, and was very pleasantly surprised that it worked. These tiles come tightly packed like a memory foam mattress, and unbeknownst to me, it says they take 24-48 hours to puff back out. I saw other reviews sayin it took a whole week. I don’t have that kind of time, so I put the tiles in the dryer 24 at a time on “Delicate” setting with the lowest possible heat setting and a fabric softener/dryer sheet for 25 minutes. I’m not saying that everyone’s dryer will be the same or that this method would for sure be ok for everyone, but it worked like an absolute dream for me. In 25 minutes my tiles went from 1/2” to a full inch, and I was able to start my project. I hot glued them to poster board with a low temp glue gun. They seem to deaden the sound very well, and I’m pretty happy with them over all. I only gave them a 4 star rating because the decompression phase was hidden deep within the description, and I feel that sort of thing should be advertised more plainly in case people are in a hurry. The product itself functions as advertised and as well as one could expect for this price point. The only other drawback is that the tiles are not perfectly square. If you hold the tiles so that the lines are horizontal, the tiles are about a quarter inch longer from left to right than they are from bottom to top. So if you want to use them in a checkerboard pattern where you alternate the direction from tile to tile, you have to get creative to make it work.

The product was essentially what I ordered except for one thing. Half of the panels were actually quite nice. The quality of the foam and the cut and shape were good. But, the other half of the order was very different. Quality was way down and did not match the other panels. It was like a totally different brand. Flimsy and thin. I felt like I was cheated on this one. I found places to put them that were unnoticeable because, that’s the way I am. It was not a good purchase. Sorry Amazon.

Overall I'm satisfied with the product a few things that you should know before you buy is that if you have a reasonable sized room this isn't enough to create a noticeable difference that you will be able to hear but it will help overall with dissipating the sound waves that travel through the room and ricochet off of the walls which helps with an echoey room the room that I put them in I'll is still echoey however I do believe that it made a difference. Also if you impulsively buy this product like I did there's a possibility that you have no idea how to get this stuff to stick to walls. What I found through research and what I did is I bought spray fabric adhesive and cut cardboard sections out that matched the area of the sound deadening squares I was going to use I sprayed the cardboard with the spray fabric adhesive I gave it time to cure then stuck them to it carefully you repeat this process as many times as necessary. Now getting them to stick to the wall I had to make two trips to the hardware store because of the first double-sided sticky tape I bought was not strong enough hopefully this saves you the hassle if you're going to use this it's a very important that you use double-sided sticky tape that comes in a roll that has the green plaid pattern on it that can hold up to 10 lb or so after using that I have had absolutely no problems with it falling or coming off of the wall. The product comes in a vacuum-sealed bag because I exercised patience once I took them out of the vacuum-sealed bag I put them in individual piles I'm about six to eight high and I let them sit for 24 hours to fully expand. Total project took me three days. I am very pleased with the results 10 out of 10 I am going to buy again because my gaming room still echoes and I want less of it.

I game a lot, and do streams. My room has a massive echo to it, so I decided to get some of these. I got the 48 pack, which is plenty enough lol. They aren't that small.. anyways, they come in a vacuum sealed bag, but after leaving them sit for a few hours, they have already become fluffed up. I left 2 of the packs in the vacuum sealed bags for a month, and even after finally opening and leaving them sit out for a few hours, they still fluffed up. The only problem I ran into was that I couldn't find a way to stick them to my walls. Now, its recommended that you get 2 sided 3M adhesive tape, so that's what I did.. but.. it didnt work. The tape would stick to the foam for about 20 minutes before falling off of the foam. What I did to solve this issue was I hot glued the foam squares to the adhesive tape, then stuck the squares to the wall, using the other side of the adhesive tape... that worked absolutely fine.. until I tried taking one off. Lol. Didnt realize the adhesive tape was gonna cause the paint on the walls to peel/bubble.. my landlord is gonna hate me, but hopefully i can fix it before i move out, whenever I do. Lol. My suggestion is to find something that will stick to your walls and this foam, without doing damage to either or.

They work very well, I mean it's acoustic foam...it's hard to mess that up but the sound quality in my office is so much better! I would recommend letting the air out and take shape for about 3days, I noticed some shrinkage after about 48hrs but overall definitely worth what I paid.

Definitely not sound proof as their title says. This is much cheaper for me to buy to help reverb. I am making my own cubicle for voice recording and this will work just as fine to cover up a 100cm x 100cm x 200cm. Though slightly disappointed on how thin is actually is. I will be looking at glueing them back to back.
