UPDATE: I had written that the buttons don't work - I talked to JBL support team via chat, bonus points for not needing a phone call, and the tech taught me how to reset the headset and that did the trick. The buttons work these are fabulous headphones now that all the features work. I love them a lot. They stay put while working out and don't fatigue my ears like other headsets have done. The sound quality is good, its not as bass heavy as I'm sure some people will want, but they still sound good to me and work for what I need. One of the top tier features for me is that you can use and control it from just 1 of the buds, I like to keep one in, one out when riding my bike on the street so I can still hear traffic and it works great.

So I got tired of destroying my ear buds with my workouts. Air pods didn’t hold up to activities and work outs without constantly falling out. Between that and sweat, they were destroyed in a short amount of time. I also tried Melomania which were a much better fit for work outs, phone calls on IPhone , teams meeting HP laptop, battery life was about 10x better than AirPods , but eventually due to sweat, the microphone feature got spotty. So I decided to get these strictly for workouts, AirPods for phone calls, Teams meetings, general use kind of stuff. These JBL’s took a few weeks for my ears to get used to, they hurt quite a bit the first week. But the sound is fantastic compared to AirPods or Melomania. No worries about them slipping out while sweaty and working out. Some general functions to pause, skip forward/back, on/off. This was really all I need. Will continue to punish this pair. I’m surprised that with such a large casing, the battery life isn’t longer, still better than AirPod case battery life though

First of all, the thing you need to know about me is I mainly listen to music on my iPod Classic. Still. Yep, I'm one of THOSE people. I use a dongle that I attach to the iPod and it normally works very well. In a lot of cases, better then my cell phone. So with that in mind, let me tell you about my experiences with sports earphones. I've been thinking about getting a pair for quite awhile, but I didn't want to get them if I felt there was any danger of me losing them. A few weeks ago I run across a youtube video about Powerbeats and how hard it is to dislodge them, so I thought I'd give them a try. So I get my super expensive Powerbeats and it is a total bust, because they refuse to pair with my iPod/bluetooth set up. It's not the first time it's happened, but it's the first time it's happened with an Apple product. Also, I didn't really love the sound, but that could have been because I didn't put any effort to adjust them very well because for what they cost, I wasn't going to keep them if I couldn't pair them with the device I use most often to listen to music. Next I tried another brand and I won't mention that one because the experience was even worse then with the Powerbeats. They not only refused to pair, but when I tried listening listening to them using my phone, they were nearly the worst sounding device I ever used to listen to music. The only thing I did like was the case, which had a very nice feel. But that did not make them worth keeping. So I was going to give up, but then I ran across the JBL EP2 (I'm not using the entire silly name). I had a friend who loved JBL products and urged me to try them. So I did. First off, they paid more easily then almost any other device I've tried pairing with my iPod Classic. I was pretty amazed, because usually I have to try a few times to get a connection, but it happened almost instantly. After that, I thought that they would sound horrible, because how could they be all that? I wasn't completely wrong. The sound wasn't good. It wasn't horrible, but they fell well short of what I was expecting. So I told my friend I was going to return them, but then he asked me how tight the fit was. So I asked him how tight is the fit supposed to be. It turns out, pretty tight. If the EP2's aren't wedged in really well, apparently all the sound escapes from your ears and you're left with a tinny shadow of how good they can sound. I found when I really jammed them in, the sound was really good. Full and detailed (I'm not an audiophile so don't expect a lot of flowery language about sound fields and highs and lows). But the ear tips that came with the ear buds did not give that tight a fit, especially if I moved around so I tried a couple of other makers. Now they fit very snug and I couldn't be happier about the purchase. I took one star off because I had to go to the trouble of getting the different ear tips. So, I'm keeping these. I'm sure Amazon will be happy. Take care all

I usually don’t write a lot of reviews, but this one has really hit a nerve with me. I know these aren’t the most expensive pair of headphones, but the name of JBL being on them should mean some decent quality at least. I bought these headphones on Jan. 5th, 2022, and by March of 2023 they were completely broken. I bought these specifically for working out because I while I have Apple AirPods and AirPod Pros, neither of those are that great for running, sprinting, jumping rope, etc. If I was just lifting weights, AirPods were no problem, but for cardio I needed something a bit more stable to the ear. I opted for these as they had pretty good reviews, they weren’t hundreds of dollars, and they had a built in over the ear hook. When I first got them, I went running that day with them and I was in love! No more slipping, no more sliding, no more falling out with the AirPods. Wore them to the gym that night, and I really loved them. A few months down the road of using them almost everyday, I kept having an issue with the right headphone not charging. I found that when I pressed it down, it would make good contact. I tried cleaning the contacts, scraping them, but nothing worked except pressing with a small amount of pressure. I opted for placing two layers of electrical tape on the lid to add more pressure to the buds while in the case and that seemed to solve the charging issue, see the my photos. Not a huge deal, but not something I think should be my responsibility either. Still was super happy with them. About 6 months into using them almost daily at the gym, I felt that they needed to be cleaned. I decided to take a Q-tip and dab it in some rubbing alcohol and proceed to clean the earwax off the sound screen. Holy shit was that a terrible idea. Both sound screens came off with the smallest of touches. I was able to get one back on and keep it there, but the other one would not stay. See the image uploaded. This completely changed the sound of the headphone and started making popping noises in my ear. At this point I’m pretty frustrated and concerned at the quality of the headphones and wondering how the hell I was supposed to clean them. All headphones get dirty, and I’m crazy religious about cleaning my ears daily if not multiple times a day because I like feeling as though I have clean ears. At this point I’m still using them, but pretty annoyed at the sound quality now. They had seemed to lose quite a bit of volume afterwards as well. Fast forward to February of 2023, about a month after my warranty expires, and the ear hook develops a crack on the right headphone. The ear hook is a magnetic piece that tells the headphone to turn on or off. I guess after a year of using them quite a bit, the ear hook had enough. Within a couple of weeks and trying to baby it, it broke completely apart. You can see that in my photos. At this point I’m super pissed and frustrated that I didn’t get at least a couple of years out of them. I went from loving these so much, to now I have a very hard time trusting anything that says JBL on it. I will tell you that there were some great things about the headphones. They last a long time, and the case charge lasts a long time too. Using them for multiple hours each day, I would only have to charge the case about once a week or once every week and a half. Any other headphones I have had do not last like that. The sound quality was pretty good at the beginning, loved the tapping (although it is easy to hit that on accident) instead of actual buttons, and they were really comfortable and stable. I also thought that the phone calls made on it were pretty good too as nobody ever complained. But unfortunately the cons weigh out the pros here. They had too many problems throughout the year, they don’t have noise canceling, and they clearly don’t last. I replaced these with some Beats Studio pros, and some Jaybird Vista 2 headphones. Keeping my fingers crossed these will last longer than a year. Do better JBL!

EDIT: after 2.5 years 1 of the loops (the 1 used the most) cracked and eventually the arm broke off. But with a little tape it still works fine! ;) Although I won't be putting this ear piece near water or take it to the gym (I've mostly been wearing it around the house) it still works! I will wait until this really stops working to buy a new pair and the newest version of these are even better! Pros: I never have to worry they'll fall out (compared to in-ear buds) Comfortable long term wear (compared to in ear buds which made my ears sore) You "twist lock" them into the ear creating a good seal to block out external sounds so sound quality is good and clear Can use either bud on its own for calls or music When you're on a call with both buds in, you hear from both buds (some cheaper brands don't actually have this feature surprisingly!) As an android phone user (specifically a Google Pixel) I love that it pairs directly with my Google account! This enables quick Bluetooth pairing and shows me battery life for EACH separate bud and lets me know I'm connected :) Cons: The touch controls are tough to get used to (they're actually not very sensitive so it's hard to find the right place to touch especially with such a large surface area. I guess this isn't so bad because I've used in ear buds and they are too sensitive it skips tracks or activates my assistant by accident) **A good work around I found was to practice in front of a mirror LOL but also rest a finger on your cheek to stabilize your hand to activate a touch command (this is even more important to do when running or moving) If you always wear glasses these are not the buds for you! This is not really a con just an obvious fact. I'm a part time glasses wearer so it does make it annoying but honestly it's not that bad for short periods of time (like if I'm on a quick call but I would never wear glasses AND these buds for extended periods of time) No Active Noise Cancelling or Ambient Sound features - I think without these it keeps the price tag down but if JBL could create an Endurance Peak 3 with these specs they would honestly be #1 especially because they market these as "outdoor" buds. For safe hiking and being outdoors it would be great to have the Ambient Sound option. **BUT a good work around for this is that you can just use 1 bud and have your other ear free to hear your surroundings.** ... I never wanted over the ear/hook buds but after trying different in-ear wireless buds I had to try something new. The in ear buds ALWAYS fell out when I talked, went for a run or they would stick out too far I would bump them out accidentally which made them prone to breaking/getting lost (I would have to wear them with a headband covering my ears just to keep them in). The fit of the in ear buds would press into the folds of my ears causing pain by the end of a 45min run. And I certainly couldn't wear them at work for music and calls because they would cause too much pain. That's why I looked into over-ear/hook buds and after doing research of what was out there, my recommendation is these are the best ones ESPECIALLY if you're an Android user! I'm sure if you're picky the sound quality might not be the absolute best compared to some bigger brands but they do a really great job for sound & call quality. You'll definitely be getting your money's worth with these buds!

Me surpreendeu, recomendo.

Ok so first thing's first - I had a pair of Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo for more than 2 years. I used them almost everyday until they gave up on me 2 weeks ago. They kept falling off during workouts so I had to keep adjusting them and that got very annoying especially during the pandemic when I have to avoid touching my ears at the gym. So I went with ones with earhooks and came across this. It was also at 33% off so I thought "It's JBL, what could go wrong" Pros - Excellent build. Feels good, sturdy and just overall comfortable. They also sit snuggly in your ear and don't move around too much - Love the touch controls - My old earphones did not allow volume controls so this was quite a bonus - Can use the left or the right earbud by itself and it's equally simple and quick to pair - Excellent audio quality, except for one thing that felt lacking... Cons - Bass! You'd expect more bass from a pair of JBL earbuds, especially considering how big these are. So when I first played some music on this, the parts that were usually bass-heavy felt empty. You're expecting a boom but it just isn't there. That's not to say the bass isn't bad, it's decent and comes out in some songs but just not all. This kinda let me down at first but I slowly got used to it and now it's the new normal - The right earbud is weird. It's just been 2 weeks. Sometimes I take it out to connect and it doesn't until I connect the left earbud first. Sometimes it doesn't charge either - As opposed to what the box says "Never Hurt. Never Fall Out", they do start to hurt a little if worn for a long time (2+ hours). But nothing more than my Liberty Neo hurt after a long use. - Couldn't do bicycle crunches without accidentally pausing my music (not used to touch controls over button) though I slowly learned how to avoid that. Overall, I would say it's a great pair of earbuds with excellent audio quality. All the cons that I listed, you slowly get used to it. If you count on bass to get you pumped up for your workouts and have previously used earbuds with heavy bass, you might want to look elsewhere. For the discounted price? Definitely a steal. At the original price? Consider alternatives as well
