Love this calendar and get it every year. This year (for the first time), the backing is very sturdy chipboard, and there's no plastic shrinkwrap or other packaging. Such an improvement! The box, at least in my case, was sufficient to protect the calendar, so if you're giving it as a gift and are concerned about the calendar having damaged corners, don't be. Mine arrived in giftable condition. :)
