· 2-IN-1 DETECTION: Alerts you to both smoke & carbon monoxide (CO) using a single, cost-effective detector. · HARDWIRED & 2 AA BATTERY BACKUP (Included): Operates on 120V AC wiring (installed in the ceiling) with 2 AA alkaline batteries that provide battery backup coverage during power outages. · ENHANCED SENSING TECHNOLOGY: Reduces false smoke alarms often caused by cooking. Comprehensively tested to meet the latest UL standards, meets UL 217 9th Edition, UL 2034 4th Edition, & FCC standards. · INTERCONNECT CAPABILITY: When one alarm sounds, they all sound, so you can get out faster. (Different models offer different interconnection options and requirements. See User Guide for more info.) · SELF-TESTING ALARM: Internal components ensure alarm is always operating as expected. Not a substitute for a manual push test, perform a button test once per week to verify alarm operation. · 3 LED NOTIFICATIONS: LED lights indicate alarm status, green = normal operation, amber = operating error, red = smoke or carbon monoxide detected & a loud 85-decibel alarm will sound. · TEST & HUSH BUTTON: Makes it easy to test the 5-inch combination detector and silence false alarms, should they occur. · 10-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY: Warranty begins when the alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it should be assumed that alarms should be replaced.

Item great, wanted to replace old units, went to Kidde website found 30 CUAR was direct replacement for KN-COSM-IBA. Happily ordered nine units, yesterday, arrived this morning (Very Happy). Ready to install, found 120 volt connector was different (Very Sad). Called Kidde customer service (Long wait time, sort of sad). Told an adapter was needed (20-9003) I was informed that note of need was on previous website, and not sure why not there now (sort of sad again). Then to top it off I had to pay an additional $4.95 each for the adaptors, and now wait another day to install (Now really sad!)

Easy to replace the older ones that had expired. The originals were 10 years old so I did have to replace the mounting bracket and wiring harness which was easy to do. I recommend keeping the plastic covers when you perform tests as they are loud alarms as you would expect. Will buy again when these need to be replaced.

My old one kept beeping and needed replacing. This is great. My superintendent, who is Very persnickety, was very happy we got this one. He even asked where we got it. Amazon of course!

Pretty easy installation although a different design/shape than the ones I was replacing so took a little manipulating. A little on the pricey side.

Works just as described. Good value when bought in multiples.

This was as recommended to replace outdated detectors in our home. We needed to order the adapter (electrical connector) since the type of connector in our current connections was outdated. Everything was easy to install and connectors work perfectly!

I installed this Kidde smoke and carbon monoxide detector and immediately started having issues. It kept beeping every 30 seconds, falsely indicating a low battery—even though I used the included brand-new batteries. When I tried to replace the batteries, I realized you have to disconnect the hardwiring (red, white, and black cables) to do so. However, the connector is so poorly designed that the pin couldn’t be pressed down enough to release it. It felt like the whole unit was locked in place, almost like a fire hazard instead of a safety device. Extremely frustrating and disappointing. Avoid this product unless you want a headache and a chirping noise every half-minute.
