Click to play video Not only does it have a beautiful design, but it's also very functional and easy to use. Clean and effortless cut: The stainless steel cutting wheel is very sharp and pierces cans without any problems. The cut is smooth, without leaving sharp edges or requiring excessive force. The cushioned handles and large knob make it easy to use, even for people with limited hand strength. It feels very secure when turning and doesn't slip. Plus, it not only opens cans of different sizes but also has a built-in bottle opener, which is a very useful extra. The aquamarine color is a stylish addition to the kitchen; it matches my pizza cutter, and the materials feel durable and of good quality.

I want to preface this with my belief that you don't buy a new item if your current item can still be used and KitchenAid products generally last. I purchased the combo package of a grater with storage/measuring cup and a Manual Can Opener. First, the Grater: I may have purchased the grater this was to replace in the early to mid 1980's. Certainly no later than 1990! This grater, with the hard plastic collar and top handle seems like it will never collapse in on itself, as my old one finally did. It's slightly larger overall and, while space is always tight in a well used kitchen, it stores its own measuring cup/covered container, so I'll forgive it. The container, with it's own seal, is very handy as I no longer have to grate onto a paper towel and then transfer that to a measuring cup. I could say that it stops one from wasting cheese when you grate too much but the "extra" was always consumed by kids, dogs & hubby wandering by and pinching a bit here & there... well, not the dogs, everyone generously shared their snagged bits with them, woof woof 😜 😉 The Manual Can Opener: I am blown away by the ease of use and quality of this product. I have an opener that never caught the can edge properly, needed excessive pressure to hold the handles tightly together and usually needed repeated repositioning every time I needed to open a can! As my arthritis has worsened, I often needed someone else to help and watched THEM have the same issues. Anyway, when my grater collapsed, I saw the package with both and ordered it immediately. This opener is extremely easy to use, it doesn't open very wide but, I placed it on a can, gave a little squeeze and easily turned the handle just a couple of times before the lid dropped into the mandarin oranges! I was flabbergasted at the ease of use because I've been using the old one for several years, often got pinched and would just give up on trying to get a lid entirely off. We would pry the can open with something else until we could scoop out the contents. Luckily, we don't really open many cans and, until the mandarin oranges stopped having "pull tops" it was rare to NEED an opener. I'm not cheap, I AM frugal. I don't know where the old opener came from but, I know KitchenAid. For well over 35 years, I've owned a (refurbished) KitchenAid Mixer including many of the attachments and several other KitchenAid products. Every item with their name on it has provided years of service and they stand behind their products. This package was more expensive than most of the others and that's a consideration for some but I'm confident that I'll save money in the long run. Spend a couple of extra dollars now and you won't have to replace the items as often.

I have bought many can openers in the past, they never last. This one looks and feels different, very sturdy, very sharp, it feels easy on the hands very well designed. I will definitely recommend.

Stocky and heavy but works very well!

The old KitchenAid classic died after almost 20 years. We have switched over to one that cuts on the side of the can for less jagged edges for most cans. But I like this design for opening tuna fish cans so I can use the cover to keep the tuna in place and squeeze the liquid out. I'd personally prefer the old school all metal one so it would fit better in the utensil drawer, but the larger handles are easier on the hands.

I have had a lot of difficulty finding can openers that I like, but I can say after months of use this can opener is outstanding. It requires little effort to place and bite the edge of the can, and it turns easily. The size of the handles and the lever that does the turning fit my hand perfectly. I use these almost every day and I often think "Gosh, this is really a great opener!" And I say that having been very frustrated with many badly designed openers. These are best I have ever run across.

Best can opener I’ve owned. I lost it when I moved house and couldn’t find it in store. I bought another brand and it immediately fell apart. Came to Amazon and thankfully they had this. It’s just like the one I had before, very sturdy and opens cans easily.
