I bought this rice maker for my husband for Christmas as he eats brown rice on a daily basis. The first couple of batches were trial and error with the settings, but now that we've found that sweet spot we use it every single day. It's great for oatmeal--we put it on the delay and have hot oatmeal ready for us in the morning! If having to clean up with a simple wipe of a sponge (that's all that the "sputting foam" requires)--then yes, this isn't for you. But personally it's quicker than cleaning a pan . Not really sure what the clean-up complaints are about--unless maybe you're one of those people that just reuse your pans? lol But seriously, I've also used it for quinoa and to steam vegetables. We absolutely would not be without it! It's a great value for the money!

This is easily the best KitchenAid product I’ve ever purchased. It’s incredibly easy to use, has a sleek design, and makes perfect rice every single time. You don’t have to measure the rice or water—just add your rice, select the appropriate setting, and press start. The machine handles the rest. The rice never burns, always comes out fluffy, and stays warm until you’re ready to serve. Cleanup is simple, and I love that it also includes settings for beans and grains. Everything turns out just right with minimal effort. If you’re looking for a dependable, no-fuss cooker that delivers consistent results, this is 100% worth it.

Very happy I bought this. We eat grains several times a week. Makes cooking ancient grains, rice, etc a breeze. Easy to use and the ‘make ahead and keep warm’ feature is a great feature. Perfect cooked grains every time.

I use this rice cooker 4-5 times a week. This is review a after using this rice cooker for over a year. Things I like: -Fillable water container doesn't leak when I take it off the rice cooker. -After I got the settings down, rice made is perfectly (white medium grain "sushi" rice). -The steaming basket is big enough for a majority of steaming needs. -I like that it gives me a notification when the rice is complete, and the amount of options to steam other things (I steam vegetables constantly). -The rice cooker's weight system is good, took me a minute to figure it out. Things I don't like: -Whenever I open the lid after cooking is finished a bunch of water fills into the outer edging of where the metal pot sits. It is annoying to clean constantly, and frustrating because there is no way to prevent this. -The plugin that connects to the back of the rice cooker is a straight style plugin, rather than an angled plugin; you can't push the rice cooker flush against the wall. Concerns: -I only hand wash the metal pot; after a year of consistent use the inside black finish has started to flake off in tiny, tiny pieces. I am concerned I will need a new pot in a year or so. I use your every day sponge, it may be my fault for using the more abrasive siding at times (albeit rare). Good rice cooker.

So, I have only used it once, but I used it with some shorter grained white rice that every time I have tried to make it turns out horribly with my old rice cooker and stove method. So, to test this thing out, I used that rice first! I didn't rinse it just to see how this did. Poured it in, came out to about 1.8cups weighed, selected short grain white rice, dry, and started it up. about 35 minutes later when I opened it up, the rice was amazing. I added some soy sauce and other sauces to it and mixed it and the grains separated perfectly! The inner lid also comes out for easy cleaning which I like because most of the other rice cookers I have had didn't do that. It is nice that it gives an estimated total time when you start it as well. I look forward to trying other grains and beans in it and hope to come up with a way to make Biryani rice with it on a custom mode!

I absolutely love this rice cooker. I made sure to use it multiple times and try out different things before writing this review. Pros: Super easy to clean. It has a self clean mechanism, but what I love is that all the parts that need cleaning, pop right out and are easy to wash. Cooking. I have loved everything that i've tried in it. Everything from soaking and cooking dried beans, one pot fried rice, just plain rice and even oatmeal. The recipes have all turned out excellent and i love that I can choose how well cooked I want the oats or rice. Layout. I love all of the options offered, from texture, to alternative liquids, to delay start. I love that I can soak my beans and cook them immediately after with ease. It weighs everything within the pot, so I don't even have to dirty my measuring cups if I don't want to. Cons: Overwhelming options. This one is a pro and a con. I love that there are so many choices, but it can definitely get a bit overwhelming. Overall i think the pro of options outweighs the con, but that's just my personal opinion. Ease of use at first. I definitely found it confusing the first time i used alternative liquid instead of the water dispenser. In my case, I used coconut milk and the rice didn't end up cooking. I tried it again with half milk, half water (which I had to add to the pot) and it worked fine. So i think it just takes some trial and error for that. Price. For a good rice cooker, it ends up being worth the price, but I think a lot of the cost is because of the touch screen and to me, it definitely doesn't need to be so expensive. I'm still glad i purchased it though. Overall: This rice cooker is amazing for so many purposes. In a disabled household especially, I love that i can throw the food in, set a delay and not worry until I'm hungry and ready for food. I love the versatile cooking options and ease of cleaning.

The Kitchen Aide Rice and Grain Cooker is nothing less "AMAZING". True to the descriptions and videos, this rice cooker is a no-brainer. There is no need to measure rice and water or calculate rice/grain cooking times; ensure the water reservoir is filled, and then dump the rice into the rice cooker. On the cooker display, read the questions and select the options available to the user. You're an expert if you can read and push the applicable buttons. EASY PEASY. My husband is constantly rolling his eyeballs at what he calls my whimsical gadget purchases. No whimsy is involved; this rice cooker cooks rice up unbelievably fast and perfectly. The Kitchen Aid Rice Cooker does not promote eye-rolling by my husband. He loves it.

There was an issue with the rice cooker at first and the company is quick to solve the matter. I have not seen a rice cooker that cooks rice to perfection! Will definitely recommend this
