I purchased this 7 weeks ago after I had Achilles surgery and I'm glad I did! I already had crutches which were clumsy and uncomfortable to say the least, and I knew I would need a knee scooter to increase my mobility in my house and get outside with my family. I’d start by saying that I would only recommend this for use on hardwood floors or smooth outdoor pavement. Out on the city streets of Portland, Oregon, it was a bit of a rough ride although I’m happy to say I’ve never fallen or crashed with this scooter. That said, I wish I had the all terrain Knee Scooter for outdoor use! I saw one guy with the all terrain model at a restaurant and he told me I needed to upgrade! Some notes regarding reviews saying it is unstable I would point out a few things: 1) the handling does take some getting used to so take your time and know your limits! 2) I would also recommend you start with a lower handlebar and seat height to maintain a good center of gravity. I’m 6’3"' and 185 lbs. and have both set pretty low. Also: 1) it’s light enough for me to carry it up and down the stairs in my 2 level house so I can get around. 2) it’s portable enough to easily fit in my car trunk or SUV 3) setup took about 5 minutes and I had no issues like some other reviewers 4) the brake lock is a great feature to stabilize myself when needed 5) definitely get the front basket- this has been very handy for carrying my phone, computer, coffee, clothes etc. The Knee Rover is at a good price point and has worked great for me, giving me a lot of freedom during my recovery (which is continuing) and I would highly recommend it!

This scooter was a godsend after Achilles surgery. Easy to put together. Convenient basket to help you carry items. The seat is overall comfortable, however, it needs a little more padding if you wear a hard cast. It’s a little difficult to turn in tight spaces and somewhat difficult to back and steer. If you have a small, older home, you’ll see what I mean! Overall, very pleased. Lightweight, sturdy and easy to use.

I just had ankle/heel surgery and can't bear weight on the foot for two months. Walkers and crutches are very awkward, especially when your in your 70s, and especially when walking any distances outside for shopping, going to the movies going to doctor's appointments, etc.. This scooter is excellent for these tasks. It's fast, sturdy, once you learn to keep your balance, which wasn't real difficult, and it's fairly maneuverable. I find I often like the wheelchair in the house because tight turns into bedrooms etc.. The scooter is a little less maneuverable in tight spaces because of the turning radius, not impossible or very difficult, but if you are like me and getting up a lot, I sometimes, not always, prefer a more maneuverable vehicle, especially if I have to use the kitchen or bathroom counters and want to sit or kneel on a sturdier platform for awhile. There is nothing more maneuverable than wheelchairs in tight spaces, so it's sometimes nice to use switch from the scooter if I'm tired. This scooter, however, really makes life easier in many ways. Much easier to get around in the outdoors, and indoors in many ways. If I didn't have a wheelchair given to me by a friend, the scooter would be just fine. It just takes a little more finesse indoors, depending on the layout of your home because of a lot of sharp turns. The scooter also allows you to be at your normal height after adjusting the height of the seat, making it much easier to reach items in the refrigerator and cabinets, etc.. Let's put it this way, if I had to choose between wheelchair, crutches, walker, or scooter, I'd chose the latter.

Due to a dislocated and broken ankle along with fractured fib I am non weight bearing for at least 12 weeks. Crutches are Ok for steps but not for really getting around. This scooter fits the bill. It comes shipped and packaged exceptionally well in a big box. If you are the injured one be aware that you will want help or someone else to unpack. Once out of the box you need to remove all the protective packing and wraps. The front wheels are turned to a 90 degree angle from normal operation and will be really tight to turn. A couple of back and forth moves (once unlocked) will loosen it up just fine. There is also a safety lock pin underneath that will need pulled out in order to place wheels in proper position and locked back in place to keep the front wheels in proper position and turning to sharply. Assembly is easy from here and you just need to adjust to your body proportions and height. This rolls really easy on hardwood and smooth floors. Carpet requires a little more effort. The construction is super sturdy and strong. The paint is almost like automotive smooth. The basket simply slips over two prongs on the front to hold. The front bar can easily be folded down to fit in a trunk for transport. It is held in place with a safety lever and a lock pin. The lock pin is a little difficult to learn how to operate but once you figure it out (will only slide sideways in one position to unlock) is super strong and safe. The scooter has a hand brake mounted on the handle bars that works really well and is adjustable (think 10 speed bike type). It also has the ability to lock the brake in place so the scooter will not move when getting on or off The brake lock works by squeezing the handle and pushing down on a spring loaded pin to hold handle in place. To release simply squeeze the brake handle and the pin releases (I added this edit as another reviewer stated it did not have this ability when it clearly does). Couple items to be aware of, as I sure any brand scooter will also have this, is to be aware of narrow halls and doorways. Your good leg will want to come closer to the back wheel and can easily get hit by the axle nut in the center. One ouch and you will remember this. The second item is it rolls really easy. If you have thresholds that transition from one level to another and have a transition strip (usually less than 1/2") between rooms don't go scooting really fast and hit it. You just may upset yourself! I find this very affordable, constructed really well, and allow me to regain mobility till I can walk again.

Click to play video I fell down the stairs & broke 3 bones ! living alone & trying to get around was very difficult & exhausting! I borrowed crutches but lost my balance & fell backwards & broke my tail bone of all things a few days after I broke my foot ! So Im not able to walk for quite a while so, ordered this little rover & soooo glad I did & wish I had it sooner! so happy with this purchase… it’s worth it! It arrived quickly, glides smoothly & easily , is well made & easy to assemble (minimal assembly with just a few pins & attaching the handles, seat & basket) the seat is soft & easy on the knees , It has a break & break lock I found It also goes over low pile area rugs easily, It is narrow so fits into / around most places, but is also very sturdy I feel very secure & safe using it! Just watch out for your “good foot toes” when backing it up It helps me get around , carry stuff in my basket & be Moblie to do the most basic tasks at home etc…it’s great!!! Thankyou

Click to play video I recently spent 6 weeks in an AirCast with a foot fracture. I ordered this (and an iWalk crutch) so I could maximize my mobility and use of my hands during that time. It arrived very well packaged and was easy to assemble. It is very high quality and very sturdy. Good height adjustments on the knee pad and handle bars to customize to your body. The basket is very useful! I was able to zoom around the house, go on longer walks and shopping. Works best on smooth flat surfaces.
