Oh boy, let's talk about the "Kitchen Towel Set - 100% Cotton Kitchen Towels" or as I like to call them, the "Blue Wonders of the Kitchen." First off, these bad boys come in a pack of six, which is like hitting the jackpot if you're into dish rags. They're 14” x 25”, which, in layman's terms, means they're not too big to handle, but big enough to make you feel like you're drying dishes with a superhero's cape. These towels are made from 100% cotton, which I guess is their way of saying, "We're all natural, baby!" But let's be real, the only thing natural about my kitchen is the mess after I try to cook something other than instant noodles. Now, onto the absorbency - these towels soak up water like my brain soaks up useless trivia. You could probably use one of these to mop up a small flood, or at least, that's what the marketing team wants you to believe. They're soft, which is great unless you're into that tough, sandpaper feel for dish drying. The color, a lovely shade of blue, gives your kitchen that "I might have my life together" vibe. But don't let the color fool you; they're durable enough to survive my culinary disasters, which is saying something. I once used one as an impromptu potholder for a scorching hot pan, and it didn't even singe. It just looked at me with those deep blue fibers, like, "Is that all you got?" They're reusable, which is good news for both your wallet and the environment. Unless, of course, you're one of those folks who thinks paper towels grow on trees (which, technically, they do, but you get my point). The only downside? They're not exactly fashion statements. If you were hoping these towels would make your kitchen look like it belongs in a high-end magazine, well, you're better off buying a new kitchen. But for everyday, "I-just-spilled-my-coffee-again" kind of life, they're perfect. In conclusion, for the price, you're getting a solid, no-nonsense set of kitchen towels that will dry your dishes, wipe your counters, and maybe even catch a tear or two when your soufflé falls flat. They're the unsung heroes of the kitchen, and at this price, they're practically begging you to adopt them. So go ahead, give these blue wonders a home, and let them absorb all your kitchen woes.

I have had the cheap 79¢ IKEA Hildegun towels for a good decade, and I absolutely love them. They are the best thing for drying dishes lint free and they absorb water easily. They fit into lid grooves to absorb water, are wonderful to wipe down the faucet, dry veggies, are just a fantastic towel that I use daily for everything. They have a few minor holes from drying sharp knives with no hem fraying at all, and are still in good shape and I know will last me for many, many more years. However, I only have 10 and had always wished I had bought more. IKEA has been out of stock online and in stores for over a year and now it seems they have been discontinued! People have bought them all up and are reselling them on other sites for 3 times the original cost. So I went looking on Amazon for something similar. In the photo, the red striped towel is from IKEA, the blue striped towel is from Linen Lane. Zooming in on Linen Lane, you can see an alternating sort of woven white stripe pattern on the white part. The IKEA towel also has this same sort of alternating white stripe pattern, except a little bit wider. Both are 100% cotton and they will shrink. The Linen Lane shrunk some, as expected, but it’s still a good usable size. They have a nice hem on them and feel like a good quality for being an inexpensive towel. I personally do not like using thick towels to dry dishes because it’s hard to feel the dish in my hand, and I don’t like a too big towel either because I fumble around with the excess. I like these thin towels. I can fit them into all nooks and crannies to get water, into glasses easily too. So far the Linen Lane feels good in my hand and is performing well. It absorbs quite well too. Some other reviewers have mentioned about not liking how these towels get too wet. Actually, that’s exactly what you want. If the towel is wet then that means it’s absorbing all the water! It’s not unusual for me to have to use two or three towels if I’m drying a lot of dishes because of the towel being too wet at some point, but that’s because it absorbs the water exactly like it’s meant to do. And that’s ok to use extra towels because I have more in the drawer. These shine up all the flatware and pots and pans fantastically! So far they have washed up well and right now have a little tiny bit of stiffness to them. HOWEVER, if these are going to do like my IKEA towels, then the more I wash them, the softer they will get and they will even absorb better and better. So I believe they will get softer, but it will simply take some time to get there. Right now they are a very good addition to my beloved IKEA towels and I know I’ll be using the Linen Lane just as much and these are the closest I can get to my IKEA towels. Also, never ever use fabric softener or dryer sheets on these towels because it will coat them and make them not absorb anything at all😁

I ordered this set of 12 cotton towels because they were highly reviewed and nicely priced. Keep in mind, the cotton is flat, not waffle stitched, so you are getting a towel that has a tight knitted weave. I washed them in warm water before I use them to wash out any manufacturing starch. This always seems to make towels a bit more absorbent. They are the perfect kitchen towel size, great for drying dishes, drying hands, wiping countertops, can be used as a drying towel or a dish cloth if you like larger sized dish rags. I also have a set of the waffle weaved dish towels that seem to be much more textured than these towels, so if you are looking for some thing with high absorbency, you might look for that kind of stitching. But these towels are really great for every day use, holding up in the washing machine when you use a standard cycle with granulated soap, they have a long lifespan because I have ordered them in the past.

I got these as an alternative to the white ones I typically get here. They were packaged well and they look nice - but they seem thinner than the white w/ the stripe down the center. Can't speak to how well they'll hold up - but I think they'll be fine as long as they are absorbent and can take repeated washings. I like the loop that's sewn in to the reverse side. That will help hang them for sure.
