Click to play video Background: Initially, I spent days watching videos, reading reviews, and browsing Reddit to decide between the LG Ultragear 45" OLED and the Samsung Odyssey 49" ultra-wide OLED. I leaned towards the Samsung due to many reviews mentioning poor text quality with the LG and almost changed my mind about getting an OLED monitor because of burn-in concerns with both models. Since I don't game as much anymore, my new monitor needed to balance productivity, watching shows, and gaming. Although I loved the Samsung, the screen seemed too wide for competitive FPS games, while the LG seemed ideal for FPS but not as good for strategy games. I was eventually convinced to choose the LG due to its extra height compared to the Samsung's width, deciding to return it if the text quality was a deal breaker. Design: This monitor is significantly larger than I expected, even coming from a 34" ultra-wide. My 55" FLEXISPOT desk is a bit cramped, as the stand pokes into my large mousepad mat, which I plan to fix with a mount or arm. Note that this version lacks built-in speakers and only has an audio jack for desktop audio settings. Despite sitting next to a window, I've experienced no glare issues while using it for gaming, entertainment, or productivity. Gaming Performance: I use this monitor with a Legion Pro i5, 4070 GPU, 32GB RAM, and an i9 CPU, and I experience no FPS issues. The immersive feeling is akin to playing with a VR headset, which might be a downside for those prone to motion sickness. FPS games like Warzone, Destiny 2, and Overwatch 2 are amazing on this monitor, significantly enhancing my gaming experience. Although the curve isn't ideal for strategy games, it's not an issue for some, like Civilization, but it might take some getting used to for others, such as League of Legends. Productivity/Entertainment: This monitor has been excellent for productivity and entertainment. I’ve encountered no issues with pixelated text, and it has greatly boosted my productivity for work and casual browsing. Initially, I planned to use it alongside my laptop monitor, but it has been sufficient on its own. The video quality exceeded expectations, not quite OLED TV level, but a noticeable improvement over my IPS monitor. It has a remote!: Quite convenient, I've always hated adjusting monitors setting on the monitor itself. Which I change quite frequently using this monitor. For color issues, cycling through mode profiles helps. I use FPS mode for FPS games, Game 1 or 2 for strategy games, and Vivid for movies and productivity, with reduced brightness. Conclusions: I've had it for 1 month and so far, I have no regrets. Long-term burn-in remains a concern, especially given the monitor's price ($999 on sale). While I wish I could have tested both monitors for a better comparison, I’m loving the additional height of the LG without having to turn my head left and right as I would with the Samsung Odyssey. Burn-in is still a concern, but no point stressing about it. I’m taking recommended precautions like using a true black wallpaper, auto-hiding the task menu, avoiding desktop icons, and setting the monitor to sleep during inactivity I hope this review helps others who are indecisive about purchasing, especially if they have similar concerns to mine.

Shipping was amazingly fast. 2 days before expected delivery. Box was not damaged. Surprised the LG box was not inside an Amazon box for security and privacy reasons. Happen to look out and huge LG box one front porch. The LG 45GR95QE-B Curved Ultragear Gaming Monitor From the moment I unboxed the **LG Ultragear Gaming Monitor**, I knew I was in for a treat. As a staunch VR enthusiast and PCVR aficionado, I admit I was initially skeptical about the curved design and DPI. However, any reservations quickly dissipated the instant I powered on this technological marvel. The **45-inch OLED display**, with its **3440 x 1440 resolution**, is nothing short of a visual feast. The curve of the monitor is not just a design element; it's a gateway to unparalleled immersion. It envelops you, drawing you into games and movies with a presence so palpable, it rivals the VR experience. The **240Hz refresh rate** ensures that every frame is rendered with such fluidity, it feels like stepping into new worlds. Now, let's talk about the blacks and colors. The depth of black achieved by this monitor is absolute, creating a contrast that makes every color pop with vibrancy. It's not just viewing content; it's experiencing it with a richness that has to be seen to be believed. The colors don't just shine; they **glow** with an intensity that breathes life into every scene. For anyone sitting on the fence about the curve or questioning the DPI, let me assure you, this monitor is a game-changer. It's not just an addition to your setup; it's an upgrade to your entire gaming and cinematic experience. The **LG 45GR95QE-B** is not just a monitor; it's a portal to virtual worlds, a canvas for digital artistry, and a testament to how far technology has come. In conclusion, if you're a VR enthusiast or someone who appreciates the finer details in graphics, the **LG 45GR95QE-B** is an essential piece of equipment. It's not just a purchase; it's an investment in an immersive future. --- I hope this review encapsulates your experience with the monitor and helps others understand its impact on gaming and multimedia consumption. Enjoy your immersive adventures! 🌟

The monitor was great while it last. Three weeks into using it. The screen just went black, it has power. For the cost of this monitor, it not worth the money.

I got this on a 27% discount so for CAD1,700 it was definitely worth it. Easily the best image quality I have ever seen. The size and curvature are incredible. When gaming, I am fully immersed in. With your entire field-of-view covered - there's nothing like it. It's also incredible for work because the size makes working with large documents and small text very easy. The OLED display with it's deep blacks provide incredible colors that brings alive details in images I hadn't even noticed on my previous LED monitor. I know some people complain about a monitor this size not being 4K, but 1440P Ultrawide is really a sweet spot where you can push high framerates with your GPU. The resolution is just fine for me and helps take full advantage of the 240Hz refresh rate. This monitor has it all - GSync, High refresh rate, huge size, amazing colors, low latency. I highly recommend this to anyone.

This is my main monitor and I use it for everything, gaming, watching youtube, and such. Pros: Visuals/Usability: - I really like the 21:9 aspect ratio, the 800R and 45" monitor size, it's large enough so that you don't have to turn your head to see every point on the monitor - unlike the larger/wider 32:9 ratio ones where the screen is way too long and you have to turn your head to see a the corners of the screen. - Colors are pretty bright, but there is a brighter 2024 version - for me it's fine, I don't even use the max brightness/contrast. The darks are very nice - its completely pitch black on black; it sounds strange for this to be a positive but it really brings out the darkness/blackness in games - some monitors have a grayish hue - this is monitor makes dark as like squid ink dark Features: - There are built in LG monitor modes which have image cleaning and pixel cleaning which helps prevent OLED burn-in which is appreciated - There's a DTX headphone jack on the bottom of the screen which gets audio from the PC thanks to the HDMI/Display port cables this is handy so you don't have to pull a cable from the PC - The PIP/PIB and On screen split screen (LG Software) is easy to use - just plug in input and/or click the screen split you want and you can organize the monitor like 2 full screens. There's a downside to this which I will list in cons - The monitor comes with Gsync and Freesync so its flexible, and there's also VRR so you can use the monitor as a console display as well Build quality: - The frame and stand is metal which feels premium compared to Samsung which uses Plastic for their shielding. - There's a 2 year warranty which is 1 year longer than Samsung's. My last Samsung Odyssey G7 32" broke in 3 years with careful usage so there's a reason why their warranty is only 1 year long. Repair for that monitor was quoted at $550 which is 80% of the monitor's price - monitor internal power supply blew and not the QLED Cons: - The resolution - while not a huge issue, does make reading a tiny bit more difficult as the words do not appear as crisp as a regular 1440p/4k monitor. I find that windows Clearfont helps (note: I have perfect vision and do not require glasses). For gaming this is completely fine, there's no issue, and youtube is also completely fine. - The PIP/PIB on this monitor makes the screen look stretched when you use it to split the screen in half because 21:9 resolution doesn't look good when fully maximized. This isn't an issue on Samsung's 49"/57" monitors because they're basically giant 32"+ monitors with the usual 16:9 aspect ratio. Overall, I bought this monitor on sale and I think this monitor is a great deal. The OLED colors looks great and vivid, there aren't a lot of complaints from me other than hoping for a 4K OLED version; assuming I don't run into a dud and have another faulty monitor in 3-4 years just right after warranty

Eventually, I returned the monitor due to low resolution insufficient for my purposes. 3440x1440 looks very inadequate on such a big size screen where pixels become visible at this resolution.

This is my first ultrawide, so I have little to compare to. Overall I like it. It's massive. Gaming is good. HDR is nice. It supports picture-in-picture mode or side-by-side mode for "multi-monitor" setup, when you plug in more than one cable. It comes with a remote (I guess it's nice?) Now, the nits: - No matter how much I do type hinting adjustments, I'm still unsatisfied with how text renders on this screen. There's still some aura around text. - It frequently shows messages that it's going to do image clearing when I try to shut it off. I don't know what it's doing, but the messages annoy me - It seems to have flawed detection of when stuff is happening on screen. Once in a while, it shows the message that it's about to go into power-saving mode and asks to press any button to cancel. I PRESS a button on the remote. The message goes away. But then the screen turns off in 5 minutes still. That happened in the middle of gameplay. - Last, more a note to those who never used a curved display: the curve makes your brain see flat screens as concave. Really annoying. The effect lasts for quite a bit of time too: if I spend an entire evening gaming on this monitor, I still see concave screen on my work laptop in the morning. Overall: yes, buy it, but don't set expectations too high.

This monitor is truly gorgeous. The colours pop, contrast is striking with perfect black, and the motion is super crisp if you have a computer that supports higher framerates. The only real drawback is its high price. You could get a 42" 4K 120 Hz OLED TV that has speakers for less money, but also true, it wouldn't be ultrawide screen or 240Hz. My previous monitor had a 34" diagonal so this new 45" looks astounding, and its curve envelops the field of view perfectly. My previous monitor had a 1000R curve so the 800R curve on this new one is not a concern at all. As for the 86 pixels per inch (PPI), the only circumstance where I actually noticed was Windows text which appears either slightly "thicker" or more pixelated (depending on app) than in more standard 110 PPI. I use this monitor sitting 2.5-3 feet away. I'd say my eye could resolve pixels starting at about 1.5 feet away so it is not really an issue for games and video. All of this to say that I will not go back to a 34". Tips: make sure you update the firmware. Prior to doing so, the screen felt a bit dim and the colours slightly off. If you see any faint lines/traces on muted colours such as grey or blue, run the image cleaning features. For me, this fixed these small abnormalities right away.
