I love the idea! Last year I had actually bought blank notebooks for my grandparents and asked them to write about whatever they pleased to return to me completed. None of my grandparents are really the "journaling" type, so not surprisingly without any prompts no one followed through with the project. When I saw this, I was really excited that I might be able to see that little idea come to life with a little help! I'll preface the rest of this by saying that I'm 26. I'm grown, in a career with a family of my own, and my grandparents are obviously aging, too. I find the questions in here skew a little younger - for a younger grandparent, with a younger grandchild. Some of the prompts are pretty neutral, but for things like "my brightest hope for the future," and "my wishes for you" seem geared more towards a younger crowd. If I had any kids of my own, I could totally see this being a great gift for my own mother. I guess it's just not quite what I expected. There's still a handful of thoughtful prompts, regardless. I feel like for the price, there should be more though. At the end of the day, this is just 12 envelopes - although nicely done - bound together. I'm honestly on the fence on keeping it or gifting it after all, although I'm guessing the majority purchasing this are doing so for their own parents/children, rather than to gift to their own grandparents. Worth noting, I didn't have any of the quality issues others have had. As pictured, mine was very sturdily bound together.

So meaningful and a good gift

I love the format of this book. It contains twelve letters to fill out (each includes a prompt) and give to a grandchild on a future date. I have one for each of my seven grandchildren. Each year on their birthdays I fill out one letter. On their twelfth birthdays, I plan to give them their book.

I got my dad this for his 70th birthday as part of a ‘grandad survival kit’ (we have an 8 month old and she’s his first grandchild) and he absolutely loved this part of the hamper. He had a wee tear, unheard of from the old Scottish gent, and won’t stop talking about what he’s going to write to her. It’s a wonderful gift, don’t hesitate.

Ótimo para dar de presente. Só uma coisa que é meio ruim é que você não pode destacar as cartas. Mas adorei mesmo assim.
