I recently purchased the Certified Refurbished Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen, 2023 release) in Cloud Blue, and I must say, I’m genuinely impressed with its performance and value. I was initially hesitant about buying a refurbished product, but after using it for a few weeks, it feels as good as new! Design & Build Quality The Cloud Blue color is a beautiful and modern touch that fits perfectly with my home décor. The device is compact and sleek, which is great for small spaces like my nightstand or kitchen counter. Even though this is a refurbished model, there were no visible signs of previous use. It looks pristine, and the build quality is top-notch, just like a brand-new Echo Show. Sound Quality One of the biggest improvements in the 3rd Gen Echo Show 5 is its sound. The product description promises 2x the bass and clearer sound, and it certainly delivers! The bass is much fuller and more pronounced compared to previous generations, making music sound richer and more immersive. Whether I'm playing upbeat tunes while cooking or relaxing with a podcast, the audio quality is superb for such a compact device. For everyday use, it’s perfect, though audiophiles might still prefer a dedicated speaker system. Display & Video Quality The 5.5-inch display is crisp, bright, and responsive. It’s great for checking the weather, reading headlines, or following along with a recipe in the kitchen. I’ve also used it for video calls, and the screen clarity is excellent. While the display isn’t as large as some other smart displays, it’s more than sufficient for my needs, especially in a smaller space. Last one I got didn't connect to the internet. This one was great and had no problems. Sound is good and the display is great. Very easy to connect to my other alexa devices.

I bought two on 7/2/24 for $44.99 each! One was not working during set up, so I did a factory reset and it works perfectly. The second one was fine out of the box and worked without any problems. I had to add the Alexa app to my IPhone, so I could sync my Wyze cameras. Both Echo's look brand new, without any marks, or scratches. In settings, you can control what pops up on your screen, it's user friendly.

What I love most is how seamlessly it integrates with the Ring app, being able to see who’s at the door directly on the screen is incredibly convenient, and it adds an extra layer of security to our home. Has a number of issues. Unlike my ancient Echo dots, I can sit at the desk this thing sits on, in a silent office, and shout the wake word at it repeatedly with no response. This makes it useless for a lot of functions because it's so difficult to make it stop something once it's started. Since the mic doesn't pick up in a silent room, it obviously isn't going to pick up over the sound of whatever it's playing. Also, getting information like weather from it is a huge deal as well. It's easier to lean back in my chair and call across two rooms to the Echo dot. I spent an hour with an Amazon tech trying to solve the issue of the Echo show refusing to stay on one home screen. What the tech apparently didn't know is that it's a feature, not a bug. You can't make it stop switching. Having it in my peripheral vision while it switched screens every 15 or so seconds was obnoxiously distracting, so I had to move it. Regardless of where I set the volume, its reminders boom out at earsplitting full volume. Not good for someone working from home. Or anyone with neighbors. When I got it, settings were available through a hamburger button on the screen. After updating, the hamburger button is gone and the only way to access settings is verbally. Which is a problem, since it ignores the wake word most of the time. I'm not sure whether I will return it. I ordered it at about half price, so that I could use it to video chat with a relative who is being discharged from the hospital. I'm waiting to see how well it performs at that function. If that's as bad as the other functions, I'll return it.

I got the Echo Show 5 because I had the older model and it was lost somehow when I moved. I got the Echo Show 5 Upgraded Model because, in the past, I have had good luck with Amazon, like new products. This works fine, and I saved money on it.

I absolutely love this. It has great sound quality as well as visual quality. I was a little surprised by the size bc I thought it was bigger but it actually fits perfect in my kitchen on my coffee maker. The alexa app was easy to set up as I do have other alexa products. I love the ability to close off the camera part for security and safety in mind.
