If this isn't Ella singing, it's close. I've seen her in person and she is amazing. The CD is wonderful, especially if you have a car old enough to have a CD player in it.

Joy is the name and Joy is the sound as it engulfs you like a wave on the shoreline snuggling up into your toes on a mid summer stroll in the beach. There are moments you just need to close your eyes relax and let that warmth wrap you in her waves of sound. Her voice reminds me of the early Rachelle Ferrell recordings. The Musky sound embodies that of Leona Horne and that of Cassandra Wilson. A treat and this Cd is from her ripe old age if 22. I can’t wait to hear her in her early mid 30’s as she will no doubt continue to grow into that sound.

If you love the jazz of legends like Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald and Lena Horne, this cd is for you. Samara Joy has this heavy, clear voice but she can go soprano on command. This will definitely transport you back in time when jazz was at the forefront of the music scene.

La voz de Samara Joy es extraordinaria, especial y muy personal pero inevitablemente te devuelve a las cantantes más grandes. Todo en este CD vuela muy alto: La voz de Samara por encima de todo, los arreglos, los músicos, la larga selección de temas escogidos. La única pega, se echa en falta aún más información de todo el proceso de grabación, más fotos....
Tuve la suerte de ver su concierto en el Festival de Jazz de San Javier 2023. Excelso. Si tienen oportunidad, no se la pierdan
