This is a great item. I charged it by plugging it in on the first day. I was having something coming around every night digging in my garden. I put it to use the first night and the digging stopped. I used it for another couple of days and turned it off and forgot to turn it back on. Well a week later still no digging, I guess whatever it was learned not to dig! I wanted to see what it would do to me so i touched the wire and got shocked. Its not bad for a person but not comfortable so I think its perfect for what is was designed for.

Have this charger attached to an Andmon 160' electric poultry fence and so far it's done a great job. Packs a wallop (got me a few times) but that's what it's there for. Not worried about anything getting past it, so great peace of mind for keeping my chickens safe. Uses the same rechargeable 6v battery as my deer corn feeder, readily available locally at department & sporting goods stores for about $10. Very pleased with this charger so far.

This seems a well-built solid unit. All parts and details are high quality. Design is odd in that the pulse light and controle switch are on the back side. This puts them out of the weather, out of harms way, and out of sight. Standard two screw mount makes it easy to pick up and change setting or verify light is flashing, then re-hang unit.

If I could leave less than a star I would. This is completely useless. I have charged it & left it in full sun for hours and it still does not hold a charge. And YES, the battery is connected. I have also checked the battery charge by itself and it is fine. Do not buy this. It couldn't supply enough power to shock a fly.

I know nothing about electric fences...I picked this one partly because of price, partly because of the length of fence would support...and definitely because it was solar powered. I don't know much about electricity, but I do have a voltage indicator and check the perimeter of the fenced area frequently. The perimeter has ALWAYS been charged and working. I used to have a huge problem with deer in my garden etc...have not had a problem since installing this.

It’s a good product for the money. It’s easy to set up, and exactly as advertised. I’ve had it set up for a year and a half and have been nothing but happy with it. I am hoping to be able to afford to buy another one to wrap around the pig pen soon in order to keep wild dogs and coyotes from trying to attack my pet pigs. Definitely buy it!
