The author is a natural storyteller. His insights and detailed descriptions bring the characters to life. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and how determined he was in pursuing the Mafia and their stories. He should write a book about the congressional crime families. Five stars!!

Anyone who enjoyed the movie "The Godfather" needs to read this riveting book and get the real truth about the American Mafia. What an education ! The FBI agent, Mike Campi, who wrote "Mafia Takedown" deserves the 'Presidential Medal of Freedom' for his bravery and courage in pursuing many of the most dangerous Mafia criminals and bringing them to justice. The system does work, but it needs men like Campi.

Mike Campi brings you into the real life of the Mafia from first hand experience. The book is packed with stories of treachery, betrayal, and avarice that surround the lives of mobsters, along with some hilarious stories and situations that made me laugh out loud. And then there's the bombshell story of "Jane", the agent who, well, I won't give it away, but it is shocking. No wonder the FBI redacted so much of it. This book is a great read and a real eye opener into "the life". I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I couldnt put this book down . It was a real life story of the mafia not like you see in the movies or on tv .
It was told by a modern day Elliot Ness , an incredible F B I agent who infiltrated the 5 famillies in New York and did great damage to them through his hard work , principals and courage .

This book will change your view of organized crime, of the "Godfather mafia." Agent Campi reveals the truth about "the life" and the characters within who exhibit neither honor or loyalty in their lives. It gave me a new perspective while still being entertaining. A must read.

This book is a page turner and a must read. The author brings you into the underbelly of society and makes you feel that you are witnessing the life of the American Mafia. It is a riveting example of treachery, deception, hypocrisy, and organized crime in its raw form. Despite the obstacles and impediments that occur during such high profile investigations, which keep you at the edge of your seat, Mike Campi and the investigative team triumph over the mob. The scale of the investigations are immense, which include an endless array of crimes, and the demise of the Mafia is long lasting. A fascinating read that you cannot put down.

If I may quote one of my favorite authors: Ernest Schwiebert, Jr.
It is a contribution to the state of knowledge of bringing down notorious criminals.
It has a sense of craftsmanship and literary skill.
It will have a visible impact on subsequent writers.

This is a great book from the POV of a dedicated FBI agent. Most of these books are usually from the POV of former wiseguys or criminals. So it was interesting to learn about the major investigations into the Genovese Crime Family. I highly recommend this book.
