My friend's LX BLACK fell, in its soft case, from her shoulder to the sidewalk. . The back separated from the body, because the kerfing (joins back to sides) was made of crumbly wood. (See photos of good quality kerfing for comparison.) This, too: "made of HPL": "60-70 percent paper; several layers of kraft paper (similar to shopping bag paper) saturated with phenolic resin." That means not much resonance. Not to be confused with carbon. The good news: As the split was in the cheap wood kerfing, it was a relatively easy repair using white glue. Since the back's edge curve did not match the side contour, couldn't use clamps so used packing tape to hold until the glue set.

Love this guitar! Not only does it have a great sound, but it's so much easier to play than my previous guitars. Worth the price!

This was in all respects a great looking and sounding guitar. But for whatever reason it did not suit me / and / or my playing abilities. Don't get me wrong - this guitar would be perfectly suited to a veteran guitar player, but that isn't me. Sadly . I had to return it . It will do well in better hand's.
