It’s a must-read for everyone! Marcus was the Emperor of Rome in the year 170, and wrote a profound prescription for wisdom, justice, discipline and courage.

This book was wrapped in a plastic cover and kept the beautiful pages with gold from being scratched. Book was perfect, however I scratched the gold lining on the pages when trying to open the plastic wrap with my nails which actually didn’t puncture the plastic but still damaged the pages, so if you plan to use keys or something sharp to unwrap it, make sure to not puncture towards the pages and mess up the beautiful gold pages.

This is my second copy of this exact book (there are others, written slightly differently. ) this is a book worth having. The translation may seem shallow or unintentional or lazy or any of the other words the reviewers left.
I found it more thought provoking . It's easier to remember my quote over citing someone else's quote, while being precise. When I had to stop and think about the quotes I was able retain a bit more. Thinking about what word needs to be there. Give it a shot. I think you'd enjoy it more diving into it with the mindset of " I get to fill in the blanks" .

The hardcover book itself is beautiful especially with the gold edges. The book and the information it provides are brilliant, Unfortunately whoever translated it basically put it through google translator and thats it. I've read other versions of this book, and this translation is by far the worse.

We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this book.
The readings are priceless and the book's hardcover reflects this fact.

It was originally published in 1862 so be prepared for a lot of: thou wilt, yee ponder, nor yonder, etc. Thou will findest that it detracts from thy content.
It was reprinted in 2024 from 1862. I’d personally get an updated translation. Be prepared to slow down your reading to catch the material.

There are so many versions of Meditations. Reviews of which version to get is hard sometimes because the photos were not matching the book I was looking to order. I do own another version that is annotated which I do like to help expand on some of the thoughts but THIS version is what I was looking for. Simple. A bit more artistic. Hardcover. Each page is spread out and the thoughts are spaced out. This is a type of book that one can enjoy in bite sized snippets to ponder and this book showcases that. The pages are thin but it makes it feel artistic. I love the fact this was written nearly 2000 years ago. If you are looking for an artistic version, you too will be happy with this version like I am for a reasonable price.

Absolutely horrendous quality of pages, the appealing book cover and pages style is just a facade of a book poorly printed. I recommend people to get other editions instead.
