This setup worked perfectly on its initial voyage. Easy to install, easy to load, and very importantly easy to Zip. It kept my cargo clean and dry and was a breeze to break down and clean up after our trip. We had two families (6 people) with all our luggage and snow toys in the Tahoe. Without being able to fold down the third row I needed the roof space, the bag held a lot more than I thought it would and was easy to strap to the roof rack. Another good thing was that at freeway speeds their was barely any wind noise at all, we had the radio volume set very low and normal conversation inside the truck and never had any obnoxious rattling or whistling drowning us out. Only caution I would recommend is to remember it’s up there and your vehicle height has been increased and could cause damage in garage’s.

The MeeFar Folding Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier Basket is an excellent choice for anyone in need of extra storage space for their vehicle. This carrier basket is large enough to hold up to 16 cubic feet of cargo, making it ideal for road trips, camping, or transporting bulky items that don’t fit inside the car. The basket’s 60" x 20" x 6" dimensions provide ample room for luggage, gear, or even outdoor equipment, while its 500 lbs hauling weight capacity ensures that you can carry a substantial amount of cargo without worry. I love the waterproof cargo bag included with the basket, which keeps items protected from rain, dust, and dirt, especially on long trips. The design is well thought out, with a folding arm feature that allows the carrier to be easily stored when not in use. The hitch stabilizer, net, and straps provide extra security for your load, making sure everything stays in place during transit. The assembly was straightforward, and once attached, it feels sturdy and secure on the back of my vehicle. The durable construction means that this carrier can withstand the wear and tear of regular use, and I’ve found it to be a practical addition to my vehicle. It’s also surprisingly easy to maneuver, even when loaded with heavy items. Whether you’re a frequent traveler or just need extra space for weekend getaways, this cargo carrier is a must-have.

Took this on a roughly 900 mile trip, didn't have any problems at all. Didn't encounter any rain, so can't comment on how waterproof the bag is. The total package includes just about everything you'll need to pack and tote your items and mount the whole thing to a trailer hitch (2 inch receiver). The anti-rattle plate that's supplied did exactly what it was supposed to do: no noise/rattles at all as we drove along. Assembly was fairly straightforward. My main concern has to do with the hardware. The bolts and nuts "seemed" well made, but the lock washers seemed cheap: thin, flimsy, and it looked like they're made of a poor grade of metal, and I did NOT TRUST them to keep things securely fastened over a long, possibly bumpy, trip. I STRONGLY suggest that if you use the supplied hardware at a minimum you put thread-lock (e.g., blue Loc-Tite) on the threads. Better yet, replace the supplied nuts (they're all metric, so finding replacements may be tricky) AND the lock-washers with more robust ones. Even better, which is what I did, replace the lock washers and nuts with lock nuts (the ones with nylon inserts), and to make life easier replace everything used for the hitch part with SAE (i.e., not metric) hardware; SAE because it's easier to find the necessary items than finding metric ones. Related to hardware, the kit includes several wrenches to tighten the nuts. They're almost laughable: flat, short, simply stamped metal, and I doubt you can comfortably and effectively use them to tighten the nuts and feel that they'll be and stay secure, especially if you use the cheap lock nuts. Get the proper size box or open-ended wrenches, or sockets, to do the job right and feel confident that nothing is going to work it's way loose and possibly fall apart while on your journey. One other heads-up: The storage bag is made of relatively stiff material (which is good; I think it's the same stuff medical examiners use as body bags), but when the zippers are pulled all the way back (in the "open" position) it's very hard to straighten the corners of the bag to get the zippers on their way to closing. My advice: once you get the zippers away from the full-open position don't pull them completely back to the corners when you're done: leave them 1-2" from the corners. You'll still have plenty of room to insert stuff into he bag and you'll also save yourself the hassle of trying to move the zippers out of the corners to close the bag again.. Overall, a good buy, with some caveats.

Just assembled the trailer hitch carrier and I couldn't be more pleased. Quality construction, everything as described. For the money there's not a better deal. Includes a waterproof bag, straps and lock for the bag, cargo net and tie downs. Very happy with my purchase.

Putting the 65 inch cargo basket together was super easy. I installed it on my 2021 Toyota Highlander XSE with non adjustable roof bars. I secured the front of basket perfectly onto roof bar. And the rear bracket was secured, even though mounting bracket was slightly off. I managed to use 1/4 inch × 2 inch wide rubber to wrap around roof rack where the mounting brackets for basket secured. My installation was SOLID!!. I traveled 1100 miles from NY to Florida, with waterproof bag totally filled with boxes. I drove for 2 hours in icy rain and nothing inside of bag was wet upon arrival. I secured the bag with the straps it came with, then I threw the cargo net with hooks as well ontop of bag. Everything arrived perfect. Nothing moved ontop of my car, even reaching and maintaining speeds of 80 mph. No whistling, no rattling, no movement whatsoever. My installation was excellent and bag looked exactly the same on arrival as when I left. It was a 19 hour drive. Look at my pics. I highly recommend this cargo basket with bag and strap kit for traveling.

It held up great and saved us thousands in shipping costs. Drove 3800 miles to Alaska in freezing temperatures and snowy weather with this rack and bag on top of my Kia Soul. We used it for all of our clothes during the trip and they were kept perfectly dry. The zipper is the most heavy duty I’ve ever seen. Also the logo on the rack part is just a sticker; you don’t have to put it on. It’s a good product. Plus I like orange.
