Purchased this for our family trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park and it worked amazing. I got the XXL model for the trip but reading the comments , regarding the bolt snapping/breaking , I went to my local hardware store and was informed by the gentleman that the main screw where it bends is a 4.5 , he suggested for me to get something stronger for it since it was a long trip and wanted me to avoid any problems or issues , so I got a different bolt that is about 10.9 (in the pictures it’s the yellow looking bolt) . Total cost was about $9 for the bolt. After driving the 1,500 miles to park and back it performed amazing with no problems. I also believe the bolt might have snapped due to users exceeding the weight capacity. Assembly did take a bit so make about 1-2 hours to complete. It weighs about 75 lbs. so if you can have somebody help you lift to put into the hitch, it would make it a lot easier. I haven’t tried it on my Subaru Forester, but it did fit the Chevy traverse like a charm. Another thing to add, is it does come with a hitch lock however be sure to check your car as we had issues trying to put it on because of the way that the Chevy traverse has the trailer light connector right next to it. We ended up purchasing a $3.99 hitch pin with clip at U-Haul and that did the trick. Be sure to fasten your anti-hitch rattle ( the things that looks like a U bolt ) to ensure your load isn’t moving around, this can also cause an accident if strong winds occur. The bag is easy to clean and protects your items from elements. I definitely recommend a 10/10 for everything. It saves a-lot of space inside the car and it’s very reliable. The fact that it can fold up makes it even better. The price is amazing!!! if this one doesn’t fit my Subaru due to the size I will definitely be purchasing the smaller one.

I've been shopping for a hitch hauler for quite a while. I researched about every product on the market and Mockins was the only company who made this XXL size carrier. Our family of 5 plus a dog takes plenty of road trips and space is at a premium. This gives us the space we need without having to hookup and pull the trailer. I read other reviews about failing hardware with this unit so I planned on getting new hardware when I assembled my unit. However, I found that Mockins must have already upgraded their hardware. My unit came with a very heavy duty support bolt and assembled nicely and solid! Can't wait for our Easter road trip to break it in. Great price, great product!

We installed this on a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE. When you put the carrier in the vertical position, it touches the bumper just a wee bit. We just put a soft cloth in between to protect the paint. Loaded this up with 500lbs of gardening dirt from Tractor Supply on the first day we had it. We did not install the stabilizer. I took as many twisty/bumpy/bouncy roads as I could on the way back home to see if I could get it to fail. No issues at all. This also fits our two 80 lb fat-tire e-bikes and works great as a bike carrier. We have not used the bag it came with yet, but the quality seems decent. Love the hitch lock it came with. Very easy to use. The ratchet straps are average and nothing to write home about.

This is the biggest carrier that I could find and it does well. The bag works well but is a little tough to get lined up. Biggest complaint is when you fold the carrier it hits the back of my car (rear wiper), so most likely I will not be traveling with it up.

I just received this product and opened the box. The attached picture is the product prior to assembly. Boy, am I impressed. This item is well built and made with strong materials. I am no welder, but the welds look great because they are clean. The underlying materials are of heavy gauge material. I think I got a great deal compared to a local welder who wanted 5 times the price I paid. The bag is thick.

I recently acquired the XXL cargo rack and bag set for my Yukon SLT SUV, and it has truly been a game-changer for our family trips. The spaciousness of the cargo bag allowed me to effortlessly store all our essentials, from luggage to pet items, beach gear, a travel bed, beach chairs, cooler, and more.Installation was a breeze, and the rack securely hooked onto the back of my vehicle without any issues. However, there is one important consideration to note: when the cargo bag is fully loaded, it may obscure the rear lights and license plate of your vehicle, potentially posing a safety concern for drivers behind you. Fortunately, my Yukon SLT is equipped with a brake light at the top, and my side mirrors feature turning lights, mitigating this issue to some extent.Despite this minor inconvenience, I am thoroughly impressed with the overall quality and functionality of this cargo rack and bag set. It has made packing for family outings significantly easier and more organized, and I highly recommend it to fellow adventurers seeking a reliable storage solution for their SUVs.

The rack bent down lower and lower to the ground on our very first road trip with just over 100lbs on it. The rack doesn't line up anymore when you tilt it up. Mockins said they were sending me a replacement when I showed them the pictures but then sent me a random item without cotter pins. Boo!

We needed a way to haul our two Lectric Trikes to area walking paths - and this is a perfect solution. Heavy duty enough to handle the strain of the weight of the two bikes, but light enough to be easily moved around. I like that they included a locking device for the trailer hitch so I don't need to worry about it being stolen. And it is also nice that I can fold it up so that it's not sticking out into the parking lot while we're taking a ride. A great value for a great cargo carrier!

This hitch carrier is great, used it for a family trip from MB to BC, over 6500km, 7 people worth of things crammed into 6 bins and then some, fit great into the Mockins waterproof bag. Everything stayed nice and dry and had no issues at all. Added a set of LED signal lights because of the size it covered the vehicles lights, still worked out great. Wouldnt have been able to do the trip without this so thanks very much and highly recommend it!

This arrived missing a part from a third party Amazon supplier. As we were leaving on a long trip the next day, we called the manufacturer in NY directly. We didn't have the time to go the normal Amazin route. Mockins were outstanding, delivering the part to our destination on the west coast without any problems. Highly recommend this manufacturer.
