· THX Certified Select: THX engineers completed hundreds of different scientific tests to ensure the highest audio performance possible. The tests ensure the speaker can reach the high volumes necessary to achieve THX Reference Level without creating audible distortion or artifacts. THX Certified Select products are for medium sized rooms, up to 2,000 cubic feet in size, with a 10‑12 foot viewing distance from the screen. · 10" Woofer: The Monolith 10" driver was developed from the ground up, with a design focus on achieving output, accuracy, dynamics, and linearity, while minimizing distortion. Enclosed in a cabinet made from HDF material, massive internal bracing, and outfitted with a single port that can utilize a foam plug to run the subwoofer in a sealed mode. · 500 Watt Amplifier: The 500W RMS amplifier is built around a Texas Instruments 48‑bit data path (with 28‑bit filter coefficients) and DSP engine. Each amplifier's transfer function, power output limiting, and thermal protection are monitored to the millisecond and are customized for each individual driver. The high efficiency Class D amplifier modules are based on a proven topology that has been continuously refined over the past 4 years. The amplifier has vast reserves of power for highly · Cabinet and Internal Bracing: HDF (High Density Fiberboard), not MDF, was utilized resulting in a sonically inert cabinet. Internal bracing has been strategically placed to increase overall cabinet strength and limit unwanted panel vibrations that would cause discoloration and distortion. The strong cabinet and bracing combine to ensure you hear massive amounts of bass, not cabinet resonances. · All Amp'd Up: The Monolith subwoofer amplifier has an extraordinarily high power output of 500 watts RMS (900 watts peak), which can deliver massive amounts of power when needed. Each Class D amplifier is built around a Texas Instruments 48 bit data path (with 28 bit filter coefficients) DSP engine, allowing virtually unlimited design flexibility with the assurance of no signal degradation.

This Is My Second "Real" Powered Subwoofer In My Home Theatre System. I Already Had a SVS PB1000 And Was Looking To Purchase Another One But Unfortunately SVS Has Discontinued That Model. Like This Monolith M-10 Version 2, It Is Also a Ported 10" Powered Subwoofer. That Being Said, This Monolith Was The Closet Thing Spec Wise To a SVS PB1000. This Bad Boy Is As Solidly Built As Any With Full-Density Fiberboard Instead Of Medium-Density Fiberboard. Hence This Thing Weighs Like 60lbs Or So. After Getting This Subwoofer Hooked Up to My Current System (Yamaha Aventage RX-A1080/Polk Audio Towers Speakers Front L/R, Polk Audio Center Channel, Polk Audio Surround L/R, Paradigm Back Surrounds) I Played The Blu-Ray Disc Release of "U-571" And Went Directly To The Chapter The Has The Depth Charge Scene To Test Out The Subwoofer. Wow, This Thing Really Shined!!! My Room Which Is Just a Small/Medium-Sized Room Was Shaking!!! If You Can Afford To Purchase One Of These Definitely Do It, You Won't Regret It!!! Thanks As Always Amazon.com!!! Update 12/15/2024 - Well I Have To Change My Rating From 5 Star To 1 Star, The Amplification Unit For This Subwoofer Completely Died Out, Leaving Me With a Basically 60lb. Weight In My Bedroom!!! Barely Had The Sub For Less Than 4mos and It's Dead As a Doornail Now. I'll Probably Never Purchase Another Monolith Subwoofer Ever Again. My SVS PB-1000 Is Still Going Strong And I've Had It Going On 2yrs Now Come April Of This Year. Looks Like I'll Be Saving Up For Either a SVS SB-1000 or a PB-1000, At Least I'll Know I'll Have The Piece OF Mind That'll It Will Actually Last.

Not too much bass, but plenty of it when necessary thanks to the THX. System sounds better with the subwoofer, more so than I would have thought. Wish we had added one much earlier.

I bought two of these for my large living room. I did quite a bit of research and found that these were the best ‘bang for the buck’. I read that they had problems with quality, but I had hoped that ‘V2’ would mean they fixed the issues. They have not. Not only did one of the two start to fail months after I bought it (the common blinking red/green light), but now I have to suffer through customer service. While the sub is technically covered under warranty, I have to send the entire 80 lb subwoofer back. As if I’m equipped for that or will keep the massive box and packaging around for the five-year warranty. (I have not.) It would make sense to send out a replacement part or at least send an empty box. But monolith support was unhelpful. I should have listened to prior reviews. If you’re looking for a deal on a nice subwoofer that lasts longer than a year, look elsewhere. As the saying goes: buy nice or buy twice.

I have 2 of these subs and I'm blown away. Extreme low-end and nice balanced linearly. In a fairly large living room and they more than fill the room (actually have them turned down) Highly recommend!!!

This thing is a beast in every sense of the word. Have a reasonably large space that this is in and it pounds/thumps/rumbles every corner of the place if you want it to. Paired it up with a 5.1 Klipsch dolby atmos speaker system and oh my goodness...hope I haven't cracked my foundation yet. The output this sub is capable of like blows everything else away. Looked at a few Klipsch subs before settling on this one (usually like to go with the same brands)...but the bang for the buck on this is just stupid awesome. All I can say is...I'm sorry to all my neighbors if I'm shaking their foundations too...sorry to the planes that fly overhead and experience rough air from the bass from my sub...sorry to the astronauts that struggle tighten the bolts on the space station cause the vibrations...and sorry to everyone else on earth for bringing the aliens via them following some wicked sick bass sounds all the way out in deep space :D LoL on serious note, it genuinely is that good and I'm really *really* glad I only got the 10" version instead of the 12"...cause well...I may have broken the entire milky way with some rocking bass vibrations! :)

This sub plays pretty low!!!! In the teen range. Pros Low notes, big boomy bass Cons Port noise (sounds like a small bird) Amp noise when nothing is playing(you can hear the distortion in the Amp sounding like a ocean) Heavy AF need two people to move it around Oh did I Mentone pretty noise and Amp noise. They were too much for me. I couldn't deal with it. SVS for the replacement win

I have purchased two of these subwoofers and both malfunctioned after two months of use yeah and this subwoofer is good with 20Hz frequency but 20Hz doesn’t make this monolith M10 V2 a good subwoofer so the sound of this monolith M10 V2 is not better then any other subwoofer

This sub is built like a tank and blows away the competition like one too. Amazing depth and prodigious output. A steal of a deal.

This subwoofer replaced an older 12" tannoy in my small home theater. It is giving exceptional performance. Fair warning that it's larger than other 'consumer' subwoofers, and heavier. Both of these characteristics contribute to why it performs so well. Delivery was painful. Amazon couldn't use their normal delivery drivers, and the courier who eventually fulfilled the delivery did so with a special two-man team. I highly recommend this subwoofer or others from the monoprice monolith product line.
