It automatically switches without any interaction with the tiny. Although not needed in my scenario, I have the aux power connected to a USB port on my TV for the additional assurance. This thing has a plastic casing and is TINY. It makes it easy to velcro and mount. I'd recommend and certainly buy it again. As for my situation, I have an older 2017 Sony Bravia TV that has 3 HDMI ports. I ended up downsizing to a Sonos speaker system (from an AVR), and I was out of inputs to connect my Sonos Beam Gen 2 via ARC, since I have a Fios STB, ATV4K and Nintendo Switch. I had the Beam connected via optical but as a result, that has its own audio limitations. I bought an OREI 4K audio extractor as a workaround to lose optical and circumvent eARC sound with my ATV on my 2017 ARC TV, but the OREI unit was shipped broken. I returned it for this (half the price) and figure I'd try putting the Switch and the FIOS box as the shared (non-ARC) HDMI input, since the Switch is manually turned on/off. It works fantastic, switches to the Nintendo automatically when on and then reverts right back to the practically, always on, STB. Win/win. To boot, with the Sonos now direct on my TV's ARC port, my Sony allows DD+ to passthrough ARC, and I get better audio support (DD+ vs DD), and the OSD CEC TV/Sonos volume control works fantastic.

This is perfect for switching between our Nintendo switch and ps5 without any noticeable reduction in signal quality. It switches automatically when the device is turned on.

Hooked up my OLED Nintendo Switch and Google Chromecast with Google TV (4K) to my Epson LS300, which is then hooked up to a surround sound system using eARC. There was no degradation in sound or picture quality, and no input lag or delays whatsoever. The auto-switch worked seamlessly and it's really small. It comes with a micro-USB cable if your HDMI inputs aren't providing enough power, but my setup didn't need to have it plugged in to the wall at all. Had considered other brands like the Philips or the Kinivo but this was much cheaper than the Kinivo and the Philips didn't support HDMI 2.1 for Dolby Atmos surround. Good build quality and discrete. Highly recommend!

Bought this hdmi switch because my other (passive no power) switch was not working over a 25 foot cable to the TV then a 3 foot cable to my PCs rtx 4080. Works great now. Currently goes -- TV 25foot hdmi 2.1 ----> PS5 (6 foot hdmi2.1) + PC (3 foot HDMI). Auto switch works as well. That green light on there is super bright though

My tv supports VRR and high frame rates. Ensure you are using good, supported cables. I have cables that are not quite good enough. Using good HDMI2.1 compatible cables will make a difference and this switcher works great. No issues.

All formats supported on my LG CX with my PS5 and Xbox Series X. Dolby Vision, Atmos, VRR, 120 Hz, the whole thing. LED is a little bright and the item isn't the sleekest around, but that would be the Philips 8K switch which has problems with half the things I just listed, so this one is the winner!

Getting some audio drop outs off and on but not enough I’d say it’s a big problem. For the most part works well, auto switches which is great. Solves many of the complaints for TVs with only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports.

I bought a Sony tv that only had 2 Hdmi 2.1 ports. I hooked my Apple Tv into one and my Xbox Series X into the other. Then I decided to buy a PS5 because they finally became available and I liked the new slim model. Problem was I need a third Hdmi 2.1. So I bought this to hook up my PS5 and it worked great. However my Xbox suddenly would not appear on the one input. So I tried everything to get it to work without any luck. Then I thought about the extra port on this device, plugged it into it and I was up and running again with my Series X.
