This Cat 6 Ethernet cable is of good quality and rated for "in wall", installation. I used it to run a permanent wire in the ceiling to a media room. It feeds an Amazon Fire Stick 4K and works well. The tabs on the plug are strong and covered under rubber boots. In my case, where I do not plug and unplug the cable with use, that works out great as I never have to worry about the cable coming loose. Unplugging it can be a bit of a challenge going "bare hands". The trick is to use a small flat screw driver that enables you to fully push in the locking tab to release the plug; I think it is the rubber boot that covers the release tab that limits how far in you can push the tab making it seem impossible to unplug. If you have a need to frequently unplug the Ethernet cable then perhaps you may want to consider a different cable to avoid potential frustration; perhaps a cable without the rubber boot or one with a softer rubber boot. If you are using it for a more permanent setup where you do not unplug it after installing then this is a great value and it works well. Giving 5 stars for permanent use application which is my experience. For frequent unplug need, I would rate it 4 stars because of the rubber boot on the plug making it difficult to unplug; use of a small flat screw driver does help.

Unlike other low price cat6 cables in this price range that 28 or awg this is a 24 awg. Worked great and is very durable.

These cables are robust and have nice firm connections. While they are only Cat6, that is fast enough for the vast majority of tasks most people engage in (I mean, your internet or even your router/switch will be a bottle neck likely before these cables will). I have several computers (because I'm a programmer, and because I have a wife and kids who all use computers) so I made a wired connection to everything in my office with these: - Backbone between Router and Switch - My Server - My 2 Gaming/VideoEditing/Programming Desktops - My Laptop (not always connected, but during LAN parties I prefer a wired connection) I've liked these cables a lot. They are not flat cables (which I know some people prefer) but they feel robust, whereas some flat cables do not.

After realizing the need for a longer cable, I ordered a 20-foot one. I connected it from my WiFi extender to my PC, but unfortunately, it functioned for just over 10 minutes. I meticulously checked all my settings, both on my computer and router, but the issue turned out to be the cable itself. (My spare cables worked perfectly.) I attempted to remove it from the WiFi extender, but due to its unusual shape, it became jammed. It required a substantial amount of force to dislodge it, a situation I've never encountered with previous cables. I'm puzzled as to why it was so difficult to remove because, even though my WiFi extender is designed for Cat5e, it's compatible with Cat6 cables, and Cat6 is backwards compatible. In the end, I had to request a return, and they processed the refund without any hassle, which was a relief. It's possible that I simply received a defective unit because, aside from the removal issue, this cable offers great value with its durable and robust build. Many other reviewers appear to have had success getting it to work too. However, the shape causing it to get stuck and the initial connection problems were of course problematic.

Great cable. I previously ran a cheaper cable throughout the house only to find out it didn’t work. This should be a testament to why to buy quality cables such as this Monoprice. I found the cable and terminations to be really high quality and I would actively seek Monoprice brand again in the future. If you found my review helpful, let me know by pressing helpful below :)

Was super cheap when I picked it up, never had any connection issues and I get the full gigabit bandwidth on my computer. The wire was dragged thru two stories worth of insulation to get to my computer and the covering was well built enough to survive through it all.

It’s an Ethernet cable, it does what it says on the bag.
