Figured it’s time to upgrade cables, so i went with the nice new cables. Hardly will ever reach its full capability in my lifetime (for a home pc), but it’s good to futureproof i suppose.

I can't believe I have the opportunity to have an ethernet cord, wow. This is everything I needed. Loop mode: Pros -Can pull snacks closer to me Cons -None Whip mode: Pros -Turns off lights -Turns pages in book -Scare snake Cons -Sometimes hurts -Can tear pages -Might not be adequate to scare snake 4 Stars Flacid: Pros -If you grab one end with each hand, it looks like 2 little arms with little mitten hands that you can even clap Cons -None You can also use it for networking or another electronic application

I have been using these for almost half a year and haven't had any issues. I basically got them, hooked them and forgot about them. I originally bought these because the raspberry pi that I have was detecting cat7 wire as something else and was only showing 100 mbits of bandwidth. I got these and now they show 1 gigabit of dual bandwidth, which is what I wanted.

Monoprice has always been a brand that I trusted to sell high quality products at a reasonable price so I decided to buy these cat8 cables thinking that I was getting a good deal on cat8 cables with all the official certifications and testing that you would expect Monoprice to conduct on their products but sadly I was disappointed. I connected the Monoprice cable to my Verizon 5G Home Internet modem that is glued to my living room window (with the network port on the bottom of the modem) which goes connected to my Asus Zenwifi Pro ET12 Wifi Mesh Router and I noticed that the Monoprice cable sinks to the bottom of the Verizon modem every time I try to push in the cable as deep as it goes it just sinks back down (without falling out of the network port) ... sure it stays connected inside the network port but it feels like only half of the connector is making contact with the network port on my modem. Previously I was using some flat cat7 shielded cables as my network cables and I didnt really notice any network speed increase going from cat7 to the Monoprice cat8 cables (network device to network device connected via Monoprice cat8 cable). I know that upgrading from cat7 to cat8 doesn't magically upgrade your internet speed from your ISP but I didnt notice any speed increase either for devices connected to my network like my NAS or some mini pc's that I have connected to a 10 gig network switch. Since I didnt notice any increase in my speeds after upgrading to the Monoprice cat8 cables I decided to read the Amazon reviews to see what other people were saying about the Monoprice cat8 cables and I noticed that one reviewer mentioned that these are fake cat8 cables because the official requirements for cat8 cables require the cable thickness to be a minimum of 24 AWG and the standard is generally 22 AWG but the Monoprice cat8 cables are thinner at only 26 AWG which doesnt meet the official minimum requirements set by American Wire Gauge (AWG). Several other reviewer also complained that the Monoprice Cat8 cables were too thin, now I know why, sadly I didnt read the negative reviews until after I had already made the purchase. The only real 22 AWG Cat8 cables that I saw on Amazon are the Linkup Cat8 Cables on the Amazon product page B07VWL4WHG but sadly those are far more expensive (you get what you pay for I guess).

These are working great for our servers using 10Gb ethernet with netgear switches and QLogic NICs. We had some bandwidth issues using cat6a cables from another vendor, but that's completely resolved and the links run at full speed now using these cables.

Good and work well. However I bought five cat. 8 (26AWG) cables from 4 different sellers/manufacturers and this one is the thinnest of them all. I wonder if this is in really a 26AWG. Maybe it's just the jacket...not sure.
