· Easy installation: The Subwoofer includes easy-to-follow installation instructions. You can install it into almost any wall with at least 3.6in of space behind the wall. · Aramid fiber: The aramid Fiber driver uses materials similar to what is used in DuPont Kevlar fiber products. The sturdy construction holds its form better than polymers, which minimizes distortion. · 300W peak power: the 300 watt peak power capacity means that you can fill your room with Deep, earth-shattering bass. · Paintable grill: The paintable grill allows you to match the color of your walls to make the speaker virtually invisible. · Looks good, sounds good: The combination of the low profile, in-wall design and the powerful Sub woofer it Self make for an excellent addition to a standard home theater.

Don't know if I can use them given their mounting tab design which limits you to side mounts and not top or bottom. But the clamping mechanism only allows the tabs to grab the drywall from the sides. I gave 3 stars for mounting and 5 stars for excellent sound and value based on other reviews on monoprice web site even though I never got to hear them because of the mounting problem. It seems if they only slightly changed the mounting tabs to clamp from top and bottom or screw directly to stud then I could use them. The cost to open up the wall and relocate the preinstalled wire or move one stud 1.5 inches to the left is much more expensive than a simple change that allows mounting by another means. I had purchased 2 pairs of the smallest monoprice in wall speakers (7606) with easy mounting tabs. My wall was prewired limiting where I could put the speakers. Fortunately all had cut outs of at least 6.5 inches wide by 10 high. But one pair of studs was just just 6.75 inches apart and not the 8 inches you need for the mounting tabs to rotate out and then clamp down on the drywall as you tighten the screws. I did a live chat at monoprice web site and they had no alternative. If I figure out a way to mount the speaker then I'll get to listen and revisit my review. Now a week later I changed my rating to 5 star because I was able to fit the side mounts as there was more space between studs than my stud finder indicated. I also think their original design of side clamps is better since may cause rattles if not secured on the side which is the long dimension. The sound is excellent for my taste and the design seems just right so I changed my 4 star to 5 star.

I purchased these 3-way speakers to use as rear surround speakers. The pictures undersell just how large they are. You'll be cutting a scary large hole in your drywall to mount them. One of the reasons I bought these speakers is because of the "paintable grill." And while that is technically true, after you paint the grill, you'll be left with a white border all the way around the speakers. Fortunately, the speakers are held into the frame with six screws. If you remove those, you can remove the speaker and easily paint the plastic frame along with the grill. I used a $2 can of black spray paint and did everything. They look great. Most houses have studs placed 16" apart, so that gives you about two inches on either side when cutting the hole in your wall. After taping the template to the wall and making sure it was straight, I used a Rotozip to cut out the drywall (get ready for a mess!). The template is the exact minimum size needed, so I had to go back over the cut and make it slightly larger for the speaker to drop into the hole and sit flush with the wall. Don't let your wife see the hole in the wall before the speaker is installed because it's going to look huge. The speaker mounts to the wall with a series of tabs that spin into place and tighten as a screw on the front of the speaker is turned. I used an electric screwdriver with a long bit to reach the screws. If you do that, GO SLOW. The minute I felt resistance on the driver, I let go. Before inserting the speaker into the wall, make sure all the tabs are vertical -- that will allow them to "spin outward" (it'll make sense when you do it). You can install the speaker with a screwdriver (manual or electric), but I would be careful if using a drill as I could see these tabs breaking fairly easily under stress. If I were going by sound alone, I would rate these speakers 5/5. Don't let the price fool you -- they sound great. The tab installation system keeps them from vibrating or rattling. I docked the speakers one star because one of them arrived with one of the tabs already broken off and I didn't notice it until after I had started painting them, which was too late to return them. My only concern is that if the speakers ever quit working, I'll either have to replace them with the exact same model or learn how to do serious drywall repair.

These guys can handle the power. No distortion when driven HARD. They have great range and sound great. I have them paired with a Polk Audio 12” sub. Please check the size, they are pretty big. The woofer magnet is massive for an in-wall speaker. I would buy these again without a second thought.

Bought these for my office. They sound amazing... of course, with my nice sub but, for the price - they look and sound great! I compared them to my other room's Polk Audio - well, not much difference! I thought this was amazing deal! a real BANG for the buck :) I installed them of course with dynamat and accoustic foam behind the walls - and that made so much of an impact that these sound like very expensive speakers! They also matched my home decor. So, i am very happy.

I am using this as Center front speakers for home theatre. They work well and are very easy to install. Sound is better than I expected for the price. The only disappointment was that monoprice do not offer this configuration to fit between studs. I had to mount these vertically which was not aesthetically ideal. In summary I am very pleased with the 5 monoprice speakers that I chose.

I installed this in my garage to give the existing system a little more bottom end. Sounds quite good, but I think I will build a box to enclose it.

I wanted to upgrade my speakers I had set up with my turntable and receiver. I previously had in wall 2 way speakers and was not happy with the sound quality, etc. I had found a nice pair of bookshelf speakers (used) online that had a rich sound. My wife, unfortunately, did not like the appearance of them (too much like a dorm room). I was told I can buy whatever speakers I wanted, they just had to be in wall. I wanted a 3 way speaker (old school I guess) and also something that wouldn't rattle if the volume was turned up. After some internet research I came across the Monoprice brand speaker. Easy to install, but the sound quality is somuch better / richer than my previous speakers. I've recently acquired a more powerful receiver and the speakers handle it no problem. Standing on the other side of the wall during use, the sound is almost all directed forward. There was significant sound projected backwards with my old speakers. Love these speakers. Planning to add centre speaker and 2 rear speakers in future and will be looking at Monoprice for these as well.

Fairly easy to install since it was replacing an existing on the wall mounted speaker, so wiring was already in place. Needed to make sure within the wall studs and took care to cut out the drywall to fit properly. Sound is "good" considering price of speaker. Overall, we are pleased with the purchase.
