I'm a longstanding Mr. Ballen fan. I remember watching my first YouTube episode and becoming instantly hooked. When he announced the release of this book of course I sprinted straight to Amazon and pre-ordered my copy right away. This book is absolutely beautiful! The artwork is beyond amazing and the stories simply draw you in so intently. It's such an immersive experience. If you grew up with Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark then you HAVE to have this in your collection (although not quite as scary). This is one of those books that you hang onto and pass down to future generations. Thank you Mr. Ballen and your team for the work that you all do! We so appreciate it! And also love the intro!! If you're into strange, dark and mysterious please do yourself a favor and get this book.

I discovered MrBallen last year on YouTube. I fell in love with his mesmerising style of storytelling. I was quickly addicted. I ordered 2 copies of his books, & a signed s copy from another online bookstore. When my books were delivered, I immediately ripped open the package, inspected the books, & was overwhelmed with the quality & the amazing graphics. While thumbing through the pages, I was STOPPED IN MY TRACKS as I saw the chapter titled The Beast Of Gevaudan. You see, my husband, Doug Jividen is a direct descendant of the villagers that once owned & lived in the Province Of Gevaudan. Although the Province no longer exists & the spelling of Gevaudan has changed many times, evolving into the current spelling of Jividen/Gividen, the Jividen ancestry has been documented since the birth of Antoine Gevaudan on November 30,1664 in Pro Provence, France. This guys got one of my favorite YouTube channels of all time. Such an awesome and amazing person. Would highly recommend this book. All real stories illustrated in this book in fine fashion. I can’t wait till he goes into it on his channel to where we read along🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I immediately pre-ordered this book when I found out about it in April and am so glad I did. What a treat. I read this cover to cover and was surprised in hindsight to discover the length is 208 pages. The illustrations are wonderful. The nine story selections are a combination of classic Mr. Ballen channel favorites and new stories, all of which are intriguing and based on actual events. I appreciate that references are included in the Further Reading section. One of my all-time favorite Mr. Ballen segments is The Valley of Headless Men, so I love that this was selected to be the opening tale. The narration is fantastic and the stories are easy to read aloud to listeners who can't see the illustrations. I read The Beast of Gevaudan to my three kids tonight shortly after tucking them in and it held their rapt attention, which is no easy feat. Not only is Mr. Ballen a captivating storyteller, this book helps the rest of us be storytellers, too. I was an avid reader growing up and perhaps what I love the most about this graphic novel is that I have a suspicion it will be a school book fair favorite soon and help many kids also develop that love of reading. It is visual and also promotes research to read about the events that the stories are based upon. I had to follow his Amazon page after reading this and hope it is the first of many graphic novels.

I've been following MrBallen since 2020 and I love how he has evolved and the quality of his production and storytelling. This graphic novel definitely attests to his dedication to great story telling. Highly recommended and I am looking forward to more such graphic novels!

Me and my teenage son have bonded over the Mr Ballen series online and has sparked many different conversations between us of conspiracy, self awareness and home safety. Sometimes just fun talks but also a great introduction of how fragile human life can be which i think is really important at his age to understand (you aren't as invincible as you feel) This book is an absolute masterpiece of sorry telling paired with stunning visual art. This is a book that has made it's round around my family members and great family bonding as we like to take turns being the story teller. If ever they were to expand on the series and make another book, we would certainly purchase. Would love another one!

Mr Ballen ist wirklich spannend, seine Geschichten sind mindestens seltsam und manchmal auch verstörend. Das Buch ist sehr gut illustriert und die Geschichten noch nicht alle bei yt.

This has to be one of the coolest books I own and I own an entire library room full... My partner and I watch a MrBallen episode every single night before bed and I don't think there's an episode we haven't seen. So when I found out he was releasing an illustrated book full of his most popular stories I've never bought something so FAST!! The illustrations inside this book are absolutely insane and tell the stories so well! If you've watched the YouTube videos most of the time it's just John and some spooky images (not a real image) that pop up every now and then so seeing these stories actually coming to life was amazing and brings an extra spooky factor! Definitely recommend getting the hardcover as the quality is INCREDIBLE! It has a soft matte finish and is super well made and perfect for those looking to keep it somewhere on display (because you have to duh). I hope they bring out more because I want them for all the stories now!
