I just purchased this book about a week ago and have worked through the first 30 or so puzzles. The book begins easy and gets progressively harder every 25 puzzles. When I am relaxing at night and grab the book, the first section feels too easy. When I am at work and want a quick break, the first section is perfect. But, there is a story flowing from one puzzle to the next (the answers in the back of the book also continue the story), so I have opted to play in order rather than jump around. Now I am on the second section and have enjoyed the slight increase in difficulty. If you enjoy logic puzzles I think you will really enjoy this!

I love this book so much I also bought Vol 2 and Vol 3. I completed Vol 1 and it was a real joy, and I'm half way through Vol 2! I love that there is a storyline go to along with the puzzles.
The one-magnifying glass level (Elementary) are the easiest and should not be a problem for most people
The next are the Medium difficulty. Here you are given only two clues and statements from each suspect, which could be either a truth or a lie.
Hard difficulty brings not only an additional suspect, weapon and location, but you must also determine the motive. Personally, I found these easier than the Medium difficulty - but that's just me.
Lastly we have the Impossible difficulty. Here we have the same number of suspects, weapons, locations and motives as the Hard difficulty, BUT with an added truth or lie statement from each of the suspects.
PROS:
For those not familiar with logic puzzles, there are 8 pages of excellent instructions and techniques on how to go about solving the puzzles.
The grids are very adequately sized (they're large) and there's lots of room to write notes. There's a section toward the end immediately before the answer section where you can get an additional hint for every puzzle. It's nice that this is well hidden so you don't see it accidentally.
The puzzles are very well designed such that you sometimes must read the detail description of the suspects, weapons, locations and motives in order to get the correct clue.
The answers are actually a continuing storyline. It's fun to follow along with the mystery!
CONS:
Sadly there are a few. Because the paperback is not in color, the shaded areas where the locations and weapons are listed and described can be difficult to read at times. For example, Locations can be either outdoors or indoors, and that is sometimes part of a clue. The background and the print color of the words 'outdoors' and 'indoors' are too similar making it very difficult to read. This is also an issue with the Weapons. Suggestion: make it the same as the Suspects; black on white not white on gray.
Once you get to the Hard and Impossible puzzles, you have the suspects, locations, weapons (and motives), clues and solving grid on FOUR pages. You're flipping back and forth from the clues, to the suspects, to the clues, to the locations, to the grid, to the weapons, to the clues.... etc. You get the idea.
Overall, I'm so happy with this puzzle book. I love logic puzzles but struggle with those that include a lot of math. These are so much fun because there's actually a story to read. The descriptions are very humorous as well and quite a few 'tongue in cheek' expressions.
Finally: If you want some casual fun while stressing your brain, then you'll love this group of puzzles. However, if you are looking for a hard-core, math heavy, little-to-no-clues puzzle book, this isn't for you.

this is super fun and challenging, but i wish the answers were explained. ive gotten a couple wrong but have no clue (pun intended) where i went wrong. it would be great to learn what i missed.
other than that it's a great book especially if you have had a really difficult time finding logic puzzle books that challenge you. this is the first one i have ever purchased where a puzzle takes me 15min & alot of thought to solve rather than 2 seconds and questioning why i even bought the book.
ive been writing lightly in pencil so i can erase them all as i go. there are so many puzzles that in a year or so i will have forgotten the answers & will be able to use the book again.
already ordered book 2!

Bought this for my son and he has plowed right thru them. He says the book has been fun and needed some thinking and good deduction

I bought this because my 9yo shares my love for puzzles and riddles. Clue is his favorite game of all time. Once he got the hang of how to play he was hooked! We are spending a snow day doing one after the other. This book works your deductive reasoning AND teaches vocabulary with word play and fun names. I will definitely buy more of these!

Saw this at a friends house and had to grab one for myself. Fun logic puzzles with a story. I think it starts off easy and progressively gets harder? I’m only on puzzle 5 so not entirely sure- but it’s enjoyable either way!

Despite the ratings of the puzzles from "easy" to "impossible" this was a very easy puzzle book. I love logic puzzles but these ranged more from "mindless" to MAYBE a medium. And although I didn't need it, there was no explanation of how to find the answer with the solutions in the back, which would've driven me mad if I didn't know how they got the answer.
That said there's some features I appreciate. I've only seen one other puzzle book to feature the "some witnesses are liars" clues and that's a nice twist. There was an overall mystery behind the whole book and that was enjoyable to follow. Sometimes it felt a little tedious with many of the same weapons and suspects over and over, but nice when they sometimes added more information to the characters. I also appreciated the little moments of humor. The layout was nice and easy to navigate.
But if you want a more challenging experience with the same idea of a background mystery and lying witnesses, may I suggest Montague Island. Much more difficult.
One last note, because I know this will matter to some people. There is a non-binary character and a long-running background same-sex relationship (very clean though.) If that bothers you, steer clear. If that's something you're looking for, enjoy.

I received my copy of Murdle: Volume 1 yesterday, and I’m already over halfway through it! The puzzles are so much fun and really well done!
I really like how each puzzle is one of Logico's case files, which make solving each mystery feel like you’re part of an ongoing adventure instead of just doing one-off puzzles. It’s a great touch and makes the whole experience even more immersive!
The book itself is high quality and feels thoughtfully put together, which makes the whole experience even better!
If you enjoy mysteries or brain teasers, this book is 100% worth it. I’m already looking forward to picking up the next volume!

The book has been divided into elementary, medium and hard levels and as you keep solving, you are bound to get addicted to it. Keeps your mind busy. Elemental was quite easy once you solve 1-2 of those puzzles. A great buy!
